Popular Post AXG_16 Posted May 8, 2026 at 09:02 AM Popular Post Posted May 8, 2026 at 09:02 AM (edited) For French speakers, you can listen to the podcast here (Europe 1, a very reputable radio station in France). Here's a summary of what the Vice President of Paris La Défense Arena said about Céline: - "Project Sissi" is the code name for Céline's return to Paris. "We and all our partners signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) to make sure we wouldn't say anything. We had a name for it: 'Project Sissi.' I don't even know where it came from or who in the group came up with the name, but that's what we called it." - Initially, there were only 10 dates, then they added 6 more, making 16 dates in total. - It's not the same contract as the one for 2020. - The discussions were very lengthy. - This is Céline Dion's only residency worldwide in 2026. - The venue offers all the necessary features for this type of concert and meets Céline's requirements. - In France, the Accor Arena (Bercy) and the Stade de France were initially considered. - The venue requested guarantees regarding Céline's health, as is the case for all concerts scheduled there. - They've been working on Céline's return for a year, but they've been involved for years. - The stage design has been reworked compared to the initial version. (I don't know if this means it's less or more important, I didn't understand.) - The vice president officially learned of Céline's appearance in a corridor at the Post Malone concert (September 3, 2025). - The "Céline effect" will generate significant image and financial benefits for Paris La Défense Arena. - The vice-president confirmed at the last minute of the podcast that there will be a video recording (but did not specify whether it will be for cinema or television). https://www.europe1.fr/emissions/la-france-bouge/celine-dion-a-paris-bathilde-lorenzetti-la-vice-presidente-de-paris-la-defense-arena-nous-raconte-les-coulisses-932465 Edited May 8, 2026 at 09:04 AM by AXG_16 11 4 Quote

Popular Post Zoespack Posted May 8, 2026 at 06:47 PM Popular Post Posted May 8, 2026 at 06:47 PM Céline had to rehabilitate her voice. In her spring 2024 interviews she said it was still a damaged voice. She needed to take care of her overall health. Treatment for this disease is individualized, and the adjustment period is long. I think many people seriously underestimate its severity and the resulting disabilities. 9 Quote

I never pitted studio and stage against each other. I never suggested that the studio was more exhausting, or even as exhausting, as the stage; in fact, I said the opposite. She simply chooses her priorities, and she doesn't have any "excuse" (!) to make if she can't or doesn't want to prepare everything at once. We can only speculate, but I imagine that putting in so much effort to be ready for Paris must have taken a lot of time and energy. Given the choice between the two, I'm glad she's performing on stage. Indeed, she hasn't chosen the easier path! Just because she chose to do what's most difficult doesn't mean she could have handled everything simultaneously during those years. I don't understand this tendency to denigrate when we should be celebrating. Is it because all 16 concerts are in France? Because the sales process was disastrous? Quote

LukeD Posted May 10, 2026 at 01:44 PM Posted May 10, 2026 at 01:44 PM (edited) I also think Celine's priority is the stage. For various reasons. This is where her passion lies but also the money/success. In terms of the French album, I sense she's recorded songs and is the process of putting it together or recording a few more. Sometimes great songs come at a late stage like it happened with LMBTL. As far as SPS is concerned we can only speculate - the narrative we were provided with is not exactly clear, and maybe this was purposely done considering its unpredictability.
