CelinesDIVO5 Posted January 5, 2026 at 01:21 AM Posted January 5, 2026 at 01:21 AM I get what you’re saying, but I don’t see it that way-for me, at least. I enjoy my life and my Céline fandom, and those things can coexist. What bothers me are the random pop-ups that feel more like cash grabs than meaningful creative projects, particularly when she’s clearly not in need of the money. Maybe that expectation is too highm I didn’t find the Elie Saab event or the Charlotte Tilbury campaign to be random. She has a history with both. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
CelinesDIVO5 Posted January 5, 2026 at 01:23 AM Posted January 5, 2026 at 01:23 AM That's fair. I do think if the question is whether Celine has "sold out," it's clear she did so even super early in her career with Chrysler and Diet Coke. But lately it's mainly in classy projects with some personal connection to her. She has always adored Elie Saab and regularly wears his gowns, and she has collabbed with Charlotte Tilbury before. Her landing Maybelline and Charlotte Tilbury as a 56 year old woman has other implications beyond just commercial ones (as an older woman, but also one who has always felt like an ugly duckling). When Celine starts doing infomercials for detox teas I'll probably be the first to piss and moan. Regardless, you're absolutely right that Celine is part of a super-rich elite and doesn't really need to be doing any of this. But one thing I have always wondered about is whether there is credence to the rumors that swirled for years about how Rene made her pay off tens in millions in gambling debts? I always wondered why she was so attached to the idea of these 400 show Vegas contracts that wore her voice ragged. I believe she also took these gigs to just show a little bit of activity and that she isn’t exactly down for the count. 1 Quote https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PL54qnRGM2gMatthew Charles - "Fix You" - Live at The Stonewall InnStonewall Sensation - Season 15Originally written and performed by Coldplay
Popular Post Kayleycrank Posted January 5, 2026 at 04:07 AM Popular Post Posted January 5, 2026 at 04:07 AM All of those individual artists I mentioned are far more relevant and popular than Celine in Spain lmao. Spain has always been one of her secondary markets in Europe, even during her heyday in the 90s. Spain has a unique music ecosystem compared to much of Europe in that it structurally favors Spanish-language artists. There are a small number of English acts that compete with Spanish speaking stars there, Taylor being one of them. Are you insisting that now at 56, post SPS, is when Celine's team should revamp their Spain approach? Post SPS?? You do realise that there is no end to SPS right? It’s a degenerative disease with no cure.At the end of the day Celine’s music is a business to her label, as you’ve pointed out Spain favours Spanish recording artists and with only 2 number 1 singles and 1 number 1 album in Spain her label probably feel it’s not financially viable to promote her into that market. It’s a shame for the small number of fans there but That’s not hers or the labels fault. It’s just good business. The level of entitlement from some fans is so wild ‘as a paying fan’ is there some celine subscription service I don’t know about? 🤣 you’ve purchased CDs and tickets and received the product right? I think some of you need reminding that Celine is a human being, first and foremost a mother, a 56 year old woman battling an incurable disease. She’s worked relentlessly giving to her fans for over 40 years where’s the appreciation? she was on stage a few hours after she lost her dad, she lost her husband & brother within days and still continued performing, she was on stage the night after loosing her mum. Since SPS we’ve had a film 4 new tracks a documentary, promo & an Olympic performance…. We should know by now that if she could she would. Some of these comments come across with no compassion or empathy for her current circumstances as a life long fan it’s really sad to read… These small projects she’s taken on since her diagnosis are not a cash grab, at this point she’s made enough money to retire peacefully if she wanted to, they are most likely her trying to fill the void that not being on stage has left in her life. And yes as fans we can absolutely be heartbroken at the prospect of no new music or live shows but let’s be real her health is her real wealth and the expectation from the fans should be that she focuses on that and her happiness. 8 Quote

I partly shared you opinion but two things bother me : - You are pointed out some comments that would come across with no compassion. First of all if we are here is because we love/like Céline otherweise it would be quite masochistic. The we have the chance to give our personal feeling regarding our passion for Céline, without any judgement. and I repeat " without any judgement" which has become so scare on internet nowadays where everyone feels hurt by someone else just breathing. Once again no one can have a lack of empathy for Celine on the forum as we all love her. It doe not mean we cannot question how she deals with a carreer now ( and fans relation is part of her career, not her personal life). - Second, your are talking about business, and you are absolutely right, it is a business first. So when you write she's worked relentlessly giving to her fans, it is part of her business, she worked for herself and fans are premium clients !! As any other business you have to take care of your clients, and even more your premium ones ! Celine has contract with many compagnies and to honor her contract she has a job to complete. There is absolutely no oneself donation about it. She did the job because she had too and, like millions of people, this has helped her too to get though that mourning times because it has obliged her to go on. To end, I would say that the larger feeling that is express in this topic is the deception to see such a bright successful carreer fizzling out badly 1 Quote

To end, I would say that the larger feeling that is express in this topic is the deception to see such a bright successful carreer fizzling out badly About the first point, nobody’s judging anyone for their feelings towards Celine and for asking about the way her career was managed. The thing that bothers me, and maybe some people here including Kayleycrank is some fans’ entitlement and the incessant complaints. Last month when she posted the two videos for Christmas (the message and the Grinch parody), some people are still complaining about the videos might be filmed the same day as the Thanksgiving one (which there are no concrete proof about it). Then afterwards, some people complained again due to the fact that Celine didn’t give any updates on her life. At this point, Celine can’t please everyone unless she finally announces a new studio album or a new residency. Some people like me come to the forum to read and talk about her songs and her career and too many complaints and negativity can be really frustrating to read. I mean, if people want to express their displeasure about how Celine’s career being managed nowadays, it’s fine. But sometimes some people can be too toxic. 3 Quote

Although I must also say, someone here mentioned that there was a contract or something that prevented her from releasing anything new. If we look at everything she’s released over the years, it has really all been collaborations, where Céline hasn’t been the “entrepreneur” or the “businesswoman,” but rather a guest. The remixes of I’m Alive, the one for A New Day, the Charlotte Tilbury beauty products… According to someone here, the court-imposed restriction ended this year, which really lines up. At the beginning of 2026, Céline’s new project on TikTok plus the Las Vegas video backdrop. I’m strongly thinking that the person who suggested that this could have been the reason is right. More than ever, I feel that this is her year—the year she’s going to come back as the Céline we know. She looks truly amazing, incredible. Wonderfully well. I would even say better than during the Courage tour. She looks stunning. She reminds me of 2007 Céline, the one we all love. I feel that her team over the years wasn’t really terrible, but rather, considering Céline’s legal situation, they actually did a lot. I think this is a good moment for all of us to put aside disputes, apologize for any harsh words about what one thought or another regarding the inactivity, and return to the 2000s-era community where everyone was close friends and where new fans (like me and other Céline fans) have joined over the years. Without a doubt, Céline is slowly returning to public life, but at the start of 2026, we’ve already begun with her entering TikTok. Edited January 5, 2026 at 09:53 PM by CélineI'mAlive Quote
PuraVida Posted January 9, 2026 at 10:58 AM Posted January 9, 2026 at 10:58 AM I wonder if this means she will begin to do "TikTok Shop" and more ad campaigns through the app. I'm not sure how it all works, but surely it would create a good income stream for her -- which is probably why she's doing it? If she's going to start sharing small clips of her singing nowadays on TikTok, the fans would be overjoyed. 1 Quote

In Spain it’s very well received, and many independent artists do it. Also, in Spain this was done during the pandemic (through another platform that required payment). This honestly gives Céline incredible flexibility. She could sing, for example, from her home, without stress or long trips, and people all over the world could enjoy it. sarit_celine Posted January 11, 2026 at 11:14 AM Posted January 11, 2026 at 11:14 AM I agree with you that if René were here, none of this would have happened. I share your opinion that she really should take her career in a new direction and talk about the lesser-known stories of her career, but I feel it would be very difficult for her, as I understand she wants to be on stage. I think it would be good for her career to do an A New Day again—a music residency in Las Vegas, with theater, just like they did in A New Day le spectacle… that way she wouldn’t have to push herself so much. If she does go back to stage I can imagine her doing a more intimate show, with different rendetions due to her health situation, let's see what the future bring. 1 Quote "Needed in the chaos and confusion, from the plains to City HallNeeded where the proud who walk the wire are set to fall"

Celine has spent a considerable amount of time talking to her fans, signing autographs, taking selfies - she did not have to do that to THAT extent. I was in awe seeing her for the first time and also very withdrawn, pretty much staying at the back so that I would not do anything to bother her. SHE noticed me at the back and SHE said to me 'come' - she is very emotionally intelligent, can definitely read the room. We took a selfie thanks to her really. Well, now that she's engaging more with social media -- I still wonder if money is behind the decision. If so, it's a smart move on her end. Not much effort and she gets some income from it. Kind of weird how she put out something promoting OTHER people's music on her playlist. That's kind of decision would be so typical of Team Celine...but part of me wonders if she was paid by Spotify to do it. They seem to be doing a lot of ads lately, maybe because they're being boycotted. Quote
