Why do the men always sound like they smoked 750 packs of cigarettes before they go on stage to sing? They never sound pleasant in these French shows.

To me, they all try to sound like Garou...

Only Bruno has a pleasant voice to me....

But it was interesting to see Mario Pelchat again (who sang a duet with her in the early 90s).

The one guy who started SLV had an ok voice too. Everyone else just sounds like they need oxygen. And it’s always been like that. Every show that Celine sang with these “guest stars” even in France on promo tours. This is what they aspire to. Mind boggling.

Like will Cherche Encore ever be performed by anyone at this point?!? Lol

Roch Voisine’s voice is clear! …just aged now

I do agree, most of the men sound not good.

It was a nice show and I love the concept, but honestly most of the singers were quite bad. They always seem to get the worst singers to celebrate Celine. The lady who sang MHWGO in particular was awful... Veronic Dicaire could have done the whole show herself tbh and it would have turned out better.

Does anyone have a copy of this with 6 channel audio they could kindly share ? :)

it was so bad and low level. We can't stand to see the Dicaire anymore 🤮🤮, I find her bad, nasal and totally corny in the way she sings. a show tossed in the trash. no emotions, they kept staring at the teleprompters.

I agree that the singers were lackluster, with a few exceptions. But I found the show uplifting and seeing Celine’s team onstage was lovely. And it really highlighted just how talented Celine is - to hear others attempt to sing her songs.

TBH the whole show had a “living funeral” sort of atmosphere. I thought Veronique stole the show, as she sounds so much like Céline. Yet she managed to put her own stamp on each song, because she was one of the few performers who had the chops to do them any justice in the first place. Most everyone else seemed limited by their vocal ability.

The ragging on Francophone artists really seems to be an american-centric attitude that everything is a knock-off of the USA. These people are making an effort performing songs that are not easy to perform because they admire Céline. Not to mention...they are actually singing live. (Something our own diva did sparingly) I think some gratitude should be displayed.

"That one guy" is Amir who has an amazing career with amazing songs. Check out his songs "Rétine", "Ce soir", "Jours de ma peine."

I love the venue this was performed at. Québec is an amazing city. I used to stay 2 blocks away from there.

I think a lot of francophone artists are wonderful, actually. I just happen to think that the men they tend to choose when it comes to Celine related shows just don’t usually sound that great. I actually enjoy Garou a lot. Amir sounded good and struck interest in me checking out his music.

She should be arrested, prosecuted and put to jail. She abused the song.

This show made me miss Celine even more. The majority of renditions SUCKED. I kind of appreciate the good intentions though.

I hate to say it but most of the clips were not good. Just bad vocals. It was a lovely sentiment but just badly executed. The best but was seeing her band and singers.

It gives me hope.

Christina cannot sing Celine songs. She does not have the musicianship, nor the technique. She attempted 'The Prayer' and butchered it. Splattered strained vocals all over.

Sam Smith, Beyonce, Anastacia, Lara Fabian are good choices though. Ariana Grande too.

No longer available. Is there anywhere I can still watch it?

I posted a link for download here...

Haven't watched the show yet, but from the bits I've heard of the performances, they kind of butchered her songs. Her songs are not easy, after all.

But as usual it's the thought that counts. But like I said before, I find the very idea of a tribute at the point kind of morbid and uncomfortable.

So beautiful and touching to hear and see what great bonds exist between her band members and Celine. No surprise but touching
