Abodi2002 Posted November 7, 2023 at 11:37 PM Posted November 7, 2023 at 11:37 PM Like 2011 I swear if she comes back sounding like 2011 too… 2011 was easily her best year vocally of the 2000’s after 2002. Quote

I was at her Vegas premiere in 2011… and both my partner and I were blown away by how strong her voice was. It would’ve been amazing if she recorded a new album in early 2011 with those vocals instead of Vegas. Edited November 8, 2023 at 12:46 AM by smw Quote
scielle Posted November 8, 2023 at 01:17 AM Posted November 8, 2023 at 01:17 AM I wouldn’t be surprised if she has been doing a lot more work with a vocal coach(es) in the last year or so. She presumably does physical therapy regularly and working with a vocal coach is likely a necessary extension of that. She has had to teach her body how to handle her condition, and probably has had to “relearn” how to sing with the limitations SPS imposes on her body. We have no idea about the specifics of her particular case, but we know for some it’s a serious respiratory and even speech impediment. She already had to “relearn” how to sing in a manner that doesn’t ruin her vocal chords once, early in her career, and I suspect SPS has forced her to do it again. 4 Quote

I only hope she/her team don't heavily lean on treatments or pharma interventions just to prompt temporary recovery or stretch the good days so she can perform, but will be harmful in long run/worse relapse. We all know she misses performing and it's a big part of her, but a longer life with her kids would be the greater gift. Thank goodness she lived a clean drug-free life. That would have no doubt exacerbated any immuno-neurological predisposition she may have. I always suddenly feel so emotional talking about Céline *whew* lol 2 Quote

It would’ve been amazing if she recorded a new album in early 2011 with those vocals instead of Vegas. Or if we got a decent setlist for 2011. Kinda similar to 1998 for LTAL tour where most of the harder songs were lipped. Early 2008 was really good also. I think vocal training would be beneficial for her. Do we know if she was doing any after Renae died? Quote

And I hope it happens, but I have to admit I always thought if I was Celine I would probably not go back, I get that she still has a passion for being on stage but she really has already done it all in that aspect… she’s stronger than I would imagine id be in that scenario I don’t know oh mentally she’s holding up but I would probably still be in “mourning” of the old me, and though we can’t know based of small snippet videos, the Celine we saw next to Dee at the Katy Perry concert and the small video of her meeting the hockey players seemed to be the same goofy and playful person, I’m glad that hopefully this condition didn’t change her zest for life even though I’m sure she has her days. Céline RO Posted November 8, 2023 at 03:24 PM Posted November 8, 2023 at 03:24 PM (edited) 2011 was easily her best year vocally of the 2000’s after 2002. I’d argue it was her best year vocally ever. The true pinnacle of her technique, and the long period of rest was evident too. I remember René being particularly impressed, saying on multiple occasions throughout 2011-13 that her voice was better than ever. To be honest, her voice wasn’t that different on SA and LMBTL. Only slightly diminished and tired, probably due to Vegas, but not really audible. Quote The best is yet to come...

Céline RO Posted November 8, 2023 at 03:46 PM Posted November 8, 2023 at 03:46 PM Do we know if she was doing any after Renae died? Well she has always trained her voice, all throughout her career, including the time after René died. I think the only exceptions were 2000-2002 and in 2010 when she was told to stop training because it was affecting her pregnancy. Quote The best is yet to come...

I hope your right… I hope this those past 2 appearances weren’t just only her feeling good or having good days… I hope most all her days are good and that the comeback she so wants is on the verge of happening very soon in whatever way she wants it to be. New music, new shows, a big sit down interview, movies, documentary… whatever she decides I just hope and pray she’s capable of it. 3 Quote

As to the bolded, I think Céline cannot stay far from music in some capacity, it's too much a part of who she is and what makes her feel ALIVE, but I agree it would be nice if she explored new things. If I were Céline, though, (and I would most likely be pelted for this lol) I would probably entertain going back on stage in at least two years time, let the illness reveal its true nature and toll via a lifestyle vastly different from how she lived the past 40 yrs. maybe just record an album in the meantime. On the upside it's a syndrome; on the down side she's French Canadian, but I cling to hope to the possibility (of chance!) that it's wildly unlikely that one of the rarest gifted individuals born doesn't have one of the rarest conditions in the world. Medical observation and time are two valuable milestones here. Her doctors have the former covered, only she can give herself the latter. Quote

kaye2023 Posted November 9, 2023 at 06:31 AM Posted November 9, 2023 at 06:31 AM What do her illness and being French Canadian have to do with one another? Founder Effect, higher risk of rare diseases (incl certain cardiovasc and cancers) due to low genetic diversity, like in Amish, Icelandic, Ashkenazi Jewish populations. Could be confirmation bias, but the only other Quebec celebrity I know of is Ginette Reno and she has "a very rare heart disease" (she declined to disclose what it is exactly) and had a near-death episode she thankfully recovered from in 2021. Also, when you've just had insurers pay out millions of dollars in refunds and cancellation fees based on a determination of disability, you don't just casually return to the same theater you were scheduled to perform at and start dancing. It's already been settled. She's coming back. My best guess is there's been some major modifications to her contract to allow her to perform shows on a very relaxed schedule. Like once a month over a longer period of time than originally planned for. Edited November 9, 2023 at 11:21 AM by jolo87 1 Quote

This phenomenon is recognized by the research and medical communities, but sure, let's go with 'crazy s*** and cake' lol FE doesn't mean absolutely every FC has a rare disease, it just means significant risk than an avg person. What about it contradicts the current diagnosis her case is the rare SPS? It could even explain the bizarre probability. No need to get weird about it. Quote
