I actually think she genuinely felt better and wanted to attend the hockey game and that's about it. I do not think she did it with the intention to make us feel better. I just think she set clear boundaries when she explained her situation and how her health would be her #1 priority. She enjoys life now so we might be getting some updates like this one every now and then. My point is that I do not think there was a massive plan behind this.

I know it seems like such an out there thing to say to say that this was planned but, as stated above, Celine could have gone in, seen the game, met the team, and slipped out with none of us the wiser. The fact she didn't says something. Honestly, I don't know what's going to happen, if this was just a genuine update... or if there's something bigger at play. We all know Celine doesn't do anything (meaning publicity) without a reason behind it. Katy Perry's show ends this Saturday and Luke Bryan ends his January 6th. While I am not suggesting at all that she'd be back that soon, with both of them leaving, and fairly soon I might add, we're due for some announcements as to who's filling those spots. Let's see how things play out but this could (take this with a GIANT grain of salt) be the beginning of something. Time will tell, but at the very least I'm more hopeful for the future than I have been.

RW was allegedly holding May 5-20, 2023 for Celine's premiere that never happened. The same 3-week period (May 3-18, 2024) is vacant as well as several prior weeks for rehearsals. April is peak travel season in Vegas, so the financial hit from having the Theatre dark for the latter part of April would be blunted.

I found the TikTok linked on the previous page interesting because the poster lives in LA and received a notification of a Celine show. LA is inside the radius of Vegas shows promoted on Spotify, so her claims are certainly within the realm of possibility.

 

Regardless, I can't believe how great she looked and sounded. She seemed so happy and full of energy. I hope she feels as great as she appeared. I still can't get over it.

The nonsensical celebrity “blind gossip” sites have posted about Céline’s return. They said she was seen in public for the first time at a hockey game but was incredibly frail. Um what? This is because they’ve been posting she’s three breaths from death the past 3 years. They don’t know how to spin her looking perfectly healthy.

I think the Spotify thing was nothing. I saw this pic on Twitter. Looks like Spotify showed a pic of a Céline and Shania show in LA this month but it’s just a themed night in a venue. I could be wrong. Seems to me that’s what the TikTok user saw.

Agreed! An easy, stress-free way to shut down the rumors that have been circulating that she's close to death/doing very poorly. She's able to show everybody she's improved without the stress of doing some big interview.

Well, from following several SPS patients on socials for about a year now, it seems this disease is very “on-off”. Some can have a great, no-symptom day and then be unable to walk the day after. Or they can muster up enough energy to go out for a few hours, but it’s so draining they don’t have strength to so much as take a shower.

I hope whatever Céline is doing is sustainable, that she has more and more good days.

Hoping for the best, of course, but trying not to let myself run away with ideas and expectations of an imminent comeback. Better to keep expectations low and be pleasantly surprised.

Also, what’s more fitting than Celine stepping out for the first time in years to a hockey game. How Canadian… especially when her home team is playing her adopted home team.

Exactly. The unpredictable nature of this disease is a double-edged sword: on the one hand, it allows us to hope for improvement even during bad times, on the other, it makes planning extremely difficult even during good times. An unexpected public appearance can happen precisely because it's unhoped-for, and can be cancelled at the last minute without anyone knowing. On the contrary, the show machine requires a precise planner and hires a lot of people.

 

With SPS, it is quite legitimate to hope for clinical remission, but it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to determine its duration in advance. Sometimes it's brief, sometimes it lasts for years before a relapse occurs; the happiest will be in remission for the rest of their lives, yet without being able to consider themselves "cured".

 

For the moment, the most important thing is that the disease has clearly not taken control of Céline's life: she can go out, expose herself to stimuli (shaking hands, feeling an emotion) without triggering a seizure, speak without any problems, stand up and move around on her own. People with SPS often use phrases such as "this disease has taken my life away", "what I'm living is no longer a life"... In this context, it's enough for me to see Céline enjoying the pleasures of life surrounded by her loved ones to make me happy.

 

And yes, it's even touching that she chose a hockey match for this appearance - instead of, say, a fashion show - which integrates her with both her sons and her home country...

I’m just happy to see her not in pain and enjoying a normal life. I couldn’t careless if she never comes back in show-business if she doesnt feel like it. She deserves what ever she wants to do, in a happy and healthy state.

 

I’m so relieved to see her like this though. I really thought that there were possibilities that she was agonizing in bed all day. We just didn’t know. I think she knew the fans were worried so she deliberately went public with this. No interview. Just “hey, i’m here, i’m okay.”

Nobody knew she was there until after the game, when someone from her camp contacted the Habs VP of comms to say she’s in the arena and could she and her kids please come to the locker room and meet some players (or so said one of the French articles I posted a couple days ago). If she hadn’t asked, she could have just gone home and nobody would be the wiser.

Nobody knew she was there until after the game, when someone from her camp contacted the Habs VP of comms to say she’s in the arena and could she and her kids please come to the locker room and meet some players (or so said one of the French articles I posted a couple days ago). If she hadn’t asked, she could have just gone home and nobody would be the wiser.

 

She could’ve even asked that the ’meeting stayed private and only her sons could've took part in the photos.

Instead she opted to be seen, for whatever reason… maybe she never really cared but this is the first time she was able to be soon or maybe it was a little reminder to the media… that while she has SPS doesn’t mean shes ill in the bed ready to die like some have tried to report.
