Should Céline pull another WDMHBN?

I'm not dissing "MHWGO", it's a fantastic song but I mean, it's just overexploated!!... That's why it would be great if she would sing other classics than this one! But I'm guess it's only my wishful thinking...

 

She also hasn't performed "Think Twice" in Vegas, let's hope she misses singing this song and not only in the UK, hehe!

I just simply expect Celine come to me , whatever she sings can easily touch me deeply enough.

But the problem is that most of the audience of her concert can't be fans like us, and she must sing songs the major want to hear, she must catter to the market to some degree.

 

My favorate would be like Mellinium Concert, full of songs from her very first ones, to the lastest.

I have only seen her live twice, the most recent being the last run of shows in Vegas... I have to say the Coliseum experience was incredible (we sat in the Front Orchestra and got to join the mosh pit), but overall, I was disappointed with Céline’s performance.

 

Only 2 songs (outside of the mosh pit) moved me in any way: PQTME and You're the Voice. Those songs gave me goosebumps.... the rest were unenthusiastic and forced. But I cannot blame her!!! I agree she needs to give some of them a rest.

 

If you haven’t heard her sing BYLM, TPOL, B&B, TLYM, LCMM, RDMH in their entirety, then either you’ve not been going to her shows for the past 25 years, or you weren’t born yet lol. A medley would suffice!!!

 

PQTME and MHWGO are non-negotiable. She must sing them in their entirety at every concert ever.

They have lost their spark to an extent (BATB more than ABM, nothing beats the feeling that the ABM climax gives you when you experience it live)... considering how mammoth these songs are, it would be hard to do a show without them, theyre on almost every compilation album since their release and its what people associate with her... id love for her to switch TPOL, IACBTMN, BYLM, BATB and ABM for IWYTNM, NBBMH, WTT, HYEBIL and WINY. But PQTME isn't really mandantory in the English setlists. The casual fans (which the concerts seemed to be made for) pay no attention to her French reportoir. She doesn't really NEED to do a French track. And if she really wants to pay hommage to her French roots she could easily do any other French track (like SISDA, LEE, the WONDERFUL ALPHB or even the uptempo A Cause).

 

The only ones who expect PQTME on an English concert are the hard core fans (and the setlists doesn't seem to be made with us in mind - except 2017) and we only expect it out of habit rather than demand.

when it comes to singing. Becoming a robot on the stage.

She does sing the songs differently, and when doing it, it seems she get the singing more easy.

Most singers I follow don't sing the song the same way it was recorded on the studio.

Which didnt make sense to me at the time for them to not be performed for such a time, BATB put her on the map and started to solidify her as a successful artist in the US and indeed everywhere else, and All by Myself has such an iconic status, its a meme, its heart wrenching and im pretty sure everyone and their mama knows every word. I always liked to think of and Imagine how All By Myself wouldve worked in the AND era... to be fair though, she was more interested in covers in that show than she was her own repertoire

Already said she should do BYLM acoustic. I actually think it would be a revival and add more depth to it. The it is now is stale, soulless and booring.

 

TLYM (if she must keep it) would also aound good in a toned down acoustic setting.

All this time? She only started performing it again a year ago after a 9 year break from the song... it could be classed as a fairly new addition to the set list and a refreshing one at that. It wasnt a chart hit anywhere, however, a song in which you can get thousands of people to flawlessly sing along with you (see Hyde Park) is a hit in my book
