Well if many fans found some of her Parish fashion looks a bit "too much" and "over the top", I'm on my right to think that seeing Céline with no less than 4 drag queens for a music videoclip is also a bit "over the top". Is it trangressive? She doesn't need to. Is it fun? No doubt! ^_^

 

And please note one of my other fav singers did this before, and I loved it: Annie Lennox had many drags for her Little Bird 1992 videoclip and it was absolutely artistic and a lovely video, but... she was Annie Lennox, an activist who has always been a gay icon; when Celine tries to do this it sounds like... forced? Desperate to get some attention for a comeback? And besides, why not say it, it clashes with the classy image that Céline has always had in the collective minds. Don't get me wrong, it's not that you cannot film a video with drag queens and still be a class act, but coming from Pepe and the context we've seen so far, to me it just looks a bit tastless and vulgar for Céline to do that for a new comeback single :unsure: All in all, I'm not sure how this concept would work for Céline and with a comeback single...

 

But we're all conjecturing now, we don't even know what they were filming right.

I would just say that drag is no longer generally considered "over the top " It's kind of just a mainstream genre artists can engage with, and I'm sure a lot of the middle aged women (and their husbands) who fill the seats at Celine's shows watch RuPaul's Drag Race ... just saying

I love how we all are the same in the end.

 

We see a few instruments on stage and our heart is skipping a few beats.

 

I've really been counting the days since we found out this week was happening.

Non fans have no idea how we feel, and how we really can get soooo excited and nervous for these things.

Love to have such passion :wub:

Also her Paris fashion looks were quite bizarre and avant garde, which can be alienating for a lot of people. But drag fashion is actually quite middle of the road in the sense that drag performers reflect (but also parody) an accessible image of what a "glamorous woman" is expected to be ... so think this why a lot of straight women watch RuPaul and find drag fashion to be accessible in a way that high fashion sometimes is not.

 

Of course there are many people who don't like it, or think it's disgusting, but there are also people who think fashion is boring. My point is that people's tastes are more complex these days and actually, drag doesn't just appeal to her gay fanbase. It's just another way of creating a fun, glamorous aesthetic.

i would not be disturbed by it, being a middle aged women as you say. I suspect most are like me.i'm nothing special. I think it would bring joy.

 

I wasn't so much thinking that they would be disturbed by it so much as not that into it. Anyway, we'll see what happens.

exact, maybe she,ll lose some fans . People believes the fake news on twitter that she doesn't like Trump. Everything is possible at this point. This is what makes it a little exciting. Edited by québecflower

Nothing against the Drag Queens at all but for her big comeback we just wanted Celine to shine solo!

 

However, my guess is the dragqueens will be an opening act for the tour, hence the car scene.

 

I guess in a few short hours we’ll know.
