Unisono Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:14 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:14 PM (edited) I really enjoy this performance. The second chorus with the backing vocals is an improvement from the studio version and the arrangement is richer than the las vegas one. There are definitely more instruments such as an electric guitar that you don't hear elsewhere. Her voice is changed and that's a pity but it's surely not unpleasant this time. It's the first time in a long timr that I want to relisten to a live performance. The ad libs at the beginning are pure bliss. Edited April 6, 2019 at 05:14 PM by Unisono 2 Quote
karatedude317 Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:25 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:25 PM Celine always had the appearance of being older than she seems to have, but in a few years, I do not know if it was the makeup, she appeared beautiful and younger, and the truth that after Rene left, she has this appearance of more old lady, not that this is wrong, but she is still a young woman, my mother is 60 years old, she has never done any procedure and is younger.I just think she's an artist and when she enjoys the beautiful and younger audience, it's good for her, self esteem, who does not feel that way? I did not like that couple, they were strangers and they did not seem to like Celine's presence. Weight loss ages a person more than anything, that’s the reason the change is so sudden and drastic. I’m just happy that she is still active and still giving us even more reasons to love her 4 Quote
Tyler1991 Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:36 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 05:36 PM (edited) Everyone saying she needs rest...i mean, the 3 months she is getting before the tour after her last vegas is the longest time off she will likely of had since rene's passing. All these mini tours just had 2 week breaks ish before and after for vegas. I know three months may not sound like a lot but for celine i think it will do her good. Not to mention after the first five shows there is nearly a month break. Edited April 6, 2019 at 05:36 PM by Tyler1991 2 Quote

If in 2017 she could get that strong vocally from 2 weeks, 3 months could do wonders, ESPECIALLY no longer being in Vegas during the arid summers. This 3 month break (with one show) will be the longest non-illness related break in a loooooong time Exactly. Im more worried about as the tour progresses, flying to new states almost every day with barely a day in between each show, sometimes doing two shows and then flying to the next city with a days break. 2 Quote

Hopefully without the kids with her she will be more likely to not talk... it wouldnt surprise me if Dave has advised her to start a proper vocal regimen again as its clear she hasnt been doing that for quite a while. However hopefully she rests well when shes off for a few weeks at a time 2 Quote

Perhaps - but not talking with the kids would very quickly be negated by the cabaret nights out with Pepe all the time. And hey, good for her.I just think perhaps she's not as concerned with technical perfection anymore. Like she says - she has nothing to prove to the industry. And I far prefer a voice and artistry of a woman who has lived, than one who's been cloistered and mum. Popular Post smw Posted April 6, 2019 at 06:22 PM Popular Post Posted April 6, 2019 at 06:22 PM (edited) Really enjoyed this interview and performance! There are SO many wonderful comments about Celine for the videos Jimmy Kimmel posted on YouTube. There's really been a shift with the general public and (most) folks are LOVING her for just being her authentic, cuckoo, over the top self! If only we could ALL be so brave to be our authentic selves. One of my favorite comments: "I don't trust people who don't like Celine. She's unapologetically herself, doesn't mind what people think of her, she's incredibly kind and has one of the best voices of all time on top of that." We are living the Dionaissance y'all!! There's been so much press lately that I'm kind of glad there's a lull now so that I can go and watch all the interviews she's done lately!!! I truly think her tour and new English album are going to be incredibly successful and create a rebirth of interest in Celine here in the United States & all over the world. Just when you're ready to put her in a box, she breaks out of it! Edited April 6, 2019 at 06:24 PM by smw 19 Quote

Xpresso Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:38 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:38 PM Sorry if you feel offended but the way of ageing is totally related to genetics and, for that, impact people regionally. Black people usually have the skin younger even when old. Latin people, too. So, the more miscellaneous people for a country is, more chances to share that genetic trait they have. So, is not a stupid question. Is anthropology + biology. So if one Brazilian looks old, do you think all Brazilians do too because it's all genetic? I know plastic surgery is very popular in Brazil but I'm sure some people don't do it and probably look older than their age. And don't forget making funny faces while singing for 38 years... that doesn't help the wrinkles! 3 Quote
takeachance Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:46 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:46 PM Because she talks she talks and she talks and most of the time for no reason and because she leaves the stage like twice for no reason and because she does a catwalk for no reason and because she holds on her chair and tries to leave with it....again for no reason. Thats exactly why he didn't ask more questions about the world tour or the album.... exactly ! no one gets a chance to ask her anything these days, coz she is just doing her own thing 1 Quote http://i66.tinypic.com/2dk08jn.gifRIP Rene Angelil xx Sending Love and Prayers to Celine
Xpresso Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:49 PM Posted April 6, 2019 at 11:49 PM Kimmel's show is not really a place to talk about tour details in my opinion. And it's too soon to even go there. Just mentioning the tour and album is enough at this point. 1 Quote

célinedionfan_16 Posted April 7, 2019 at 08:01 PM Posted April 7, 2019 at 08:01 PM Why? This may have already been said, but I noticed her dress wasn’t laying how she wanted it on the stage. I’m not sure if that’s the only reason she sang it twice, but she had Pepe come on stage and fix before she sang Ashes again 1 Quote

Her voice was great (considering her current limitations). But, I got to say... Celine looks too old for her age. Is that a normal thing for french Canadians? Maybe genetics, idk. Glad that she's keeping her look natural, though. Is this a normal thing for French Canadians - did u seriously just ask that question? 1 Quote

Well if it’s apart of the new album I think it’s great to have a official live performance. Thinking into the future.... I am really hoping Ashes is going to be on the new album (no other most recent songs) as it really is a great song and it was the first song to boost Celines English career in years. It deserves a place for sure. Kev x 7 Quote
