I prefer her “down-to-earth” looks. I don’t like her looking like (or being referred to as) a “diva” - whatever that’s supposed to mean.

 

To me, she’s exactly the way she described herself: a normal person with an abnormal life, or better still, “vous m’voyez comme une déesse, je suis une femme, pas une princesse”.

Agreed. I don’t mind airbrush if it’s don’t properly done... but I’d rather have this amateur headshot over the Taking Chances album shoot any day of the week...

Okay, I’ll admit I don’t hate all the images as much as I hate their editing.

 

Don’t you find the steel grey skin tones rather cold and impersonal? To me, it goes against the image of Céline being warm, loving, and well frankly, alive!

It appears like a fashion photoshoot that has absolutely nothing to fo with the music on the album. Should have been rather used for a fashion magazine. And what’s the point with that huge fake hair?

I agree with this. I think the Taking Chances photoshoot is pretty cool, I just don't like the editing of the pictures either. The contrasts and saturation are so high. They made her skin literally gleaming white.

 

I slightly changed the colors and contrast of the cover over 10 years ago, and I've been using this as the cover ever since. Here is a comparison: (Left is the original) Maybe it's just me, but just that little change made it so much better. I wish they'd release the photoshoot without all the crazy editing.

I love those covers too. A New Day Has Come is a great cover, and it fits the album perfectly. I also agree that One Heart fits that album as well.

Several years ago somebody made a photoshop edit of how the front cover picture would have been without any make up. The result was gorgeous, I wish somebody could post that

I think she looks like a Boss-Diva on the TC cover. Sort of unattainable and unapproachable because she is just too diva and glam. I think she looks powerful, which fits with the theme of taking charge and taking chances. It's like, go out there, put that suit on and take a change. She looks glam-rock, and the album had that theme.

 

I wouldn't change a thing about it. Yes, they made her skin somewhat porcelain, but they made her hair friggin RED on FIY cover.

Even if a vaccine is available in the next few months I don't see tours ready to start right away. It's going to take a very long time to give the vaccine to everyone as they will start with the most vulnerable and then move on to everyone else.

Yeah, that would make sense. Only that's not the plan - because, if it makes sense, you know that's not how 2020 is gonna go. It's supposed to first go to world leaders. Then they go with your plan, kind of. Second group is the elderly and then "everyone else" which means rich white people, then middle-class white people, then everyone else.

Well, if that's the case we are more than half way there. The real problem with this virus is that younger people (most with mild to no symptoms) get it and they infect the more vulnerable ones. But if the more vulnerable people get the vaccine, the risk of health care systems collapsing will reduce considerably. Still early anyway, but better to be positive
