At least here in the states, Tenet (a movie) completely tanked and now virtually every film scheduled for release is being pushed back to 2021, some by a full year. The Metropolitan Opera in NYC just cancelled their entire 2020-2021 season. If movies and theater can't find a way to come back, there's no way concerts will be back.

 

CWT is supposed to begin in Europe but even there I'm reading of rising cases. Does anyone who lives in Europe (and who actually reads trusted news sources) have any first-hand information about large gatherings? I'm reading that Boris Johnson's new regulations mean that the West End isn't going to be able to re-open as they had announced/planned.

 

It's just looking more and more likely that the CWT is going to postponed yet again.

Here in The Netherlands we are in a severe state now. The curve goes up very steep. Hospitalized and contaminated covid18 cases increase quite a lot each day.

I haven't had the chance to sit down and watch it all yet - fast-forwarded a bit. It's just the CWT with tons of different angles spliced together from various fan videos and official footage, I believe. It begins with a bit of backstage clips and interviews taken from other sources, I imagine, which gives it an "official DVD" feel. That could've been the issue. It also, on YouTube, had about 20 commercial breaks built into the video which would mean the uploader would be making money off of the footage and that's a BIG no-no.

The person used different audios (which personally took me out and I couldn't enjoy it but I recognize the amount of time the video must have taken to put together, so props for that), a mix of different official releases and fan recordings. I think they used tracks from the Tokyo show which we know gets instantly blocked on youtube. My guess is that the audio was tracked and got a copyright strike.

 

When Soul was released only in Japan it would also get blocked on youtube.

Paris and the UK dates in March and April are clearly not going to happen given the current climate of COVID in Europe.

 

I think the whole European leg of the tour needs to be scrapped until 2022.

Europe isn’t sounding any better than the U.S. from the remarks from users above. I agree, I don’t see anyway the CWT will start in March. It’s just a way for them to hold on to everyone’s money. Plus, people went and bought tickets for the reschedule dates and gave them MORE money. Ticketmaster and AEG definitely know what they’re doing.

I don't think they are holding anyone's money, once the rescheduled dates were announced you are free to ask for a refund. Most people are not asking their money back because nobody knows for sure what will happen and everyone is hoping that things will be better in March. If we have learnt anything from this virus is that there's no point in making long term plans at the moment. If they need to reschedule I don't think they will know for sure at least until January/February, so don't expect any announcement before that.

I only say they’re holding onto people’s money because I had a helluva time getting my money back from Ticketmaster for a show (not Celine) that was rescheduled to a date I couldn’t make. It took me 2 months of hounding them to get my refund - even when the theater itself contacted Ticketmaster and told them they would happily refund my ticket and gave Ticketmaster the go ahead to do so. It’s such a horrible horrible company.

 

I don’t expect that they’ll reschedule dates until January or February either - but we all know the show will not go on as scheduled.

Here in the Netherlands and alll Europe it is going the wrong way. New restrictions are announced for some regions and more regions and more restrictions will follow.

 

The pandemic started 7 months ago and look where we are now. The concerts in april are scheduled to take place in less than 7 months from now. I don’t see it happening.

 

I think it is awful for Celine that she can’t perform, it is what she did for so many years and she clearly loves it.

Actually, there's an alternative for that. They did that in Thailand. There's an app called VLive (i think). There i watched BrightWin Concert. But first of course you'll have to pay to see the show online. It was amazing. It's like a real concert without the audience. The audience are online.

I just watched that video of the CWT that was taken down. At the beginning, I thought the use of the DVD versions of songs that existed would bother me...and it did a bit...but it quickly went to songs that only exist from the CWT and it was truly a wonderful video. Yes, there are so many different audios that are constantly being swapped in and out, but the person did it seamlessly where there is no break in the music - it works perfectly. And they took her best vocals from the entire tour to create what is truly a fantastic and definitive version of the show.

 

They included Lying Down AND Imperfections as well as putting Flying On My Own in the medley. They also used The Reason. It made for a 25 song, 1 hr and 55 minute show that it was a true joy for me to watch this afternoon when I was a bit down and needed Celine for the lift she always provides. I had the privilege of seeing the CWT 7 times and it brought back so many wonderful memories. Perhaps, when the epidemic has passed, and she continues, I can make it to the closing night as I was there for the opening. It would be so special.

 

I hope you all are having as peaceful of a day as you can have in these troubled times. Thanks, as always, to the beautiful Celine for cheering me up today.

Not far off from the truth. Celine said during Courage/L'Oreal interviews that she thinks up lyrics and writes them down. She just probably doesn't turn them into full songs and has said she doesn't like singing songs she comes up with.

Unpopular opinion : you can all disagree with me on this but have you ever thought of how overpopulated the earth has become.. we are now 8 billion humans expected to be 10 billion in 2050 and just this week we just learned that the world has lost more than two-thirds of its wild animal population in less than 50 years, mainly due to human activity.

 

And you want me to worry for the few humans that died from coronavirus and stop everything , lock myself up forever , loose my job and live in fear for a virus that has shown to be less lethal than announced in the beginning . yea i think this post is FULL OF BS - first off, she does not really write songs, especially in english (i know she DID write 2 french songs, for other singers not for herself, but that was a looong time ago lol,) so i very much doubt she is writing... she could be recording songs for a new french album maybe, but again that is just a wild guess on my part lol... 😜😄

 

& plus i dont think she would be in quebec - UNLESS RC, eddy, & nelson were already in quebec BEFORE THE PANDEMIC & BEFORE THE U.S. TRAVEL BAN started in march - because of the travel ban in this country, since march people CAN NOT travel in or out of the united states, NOT EVEN CELINE OR HER KIDS!!

 

they are NOT exceptions to the governments orders (why do you think several celebs, such as tom hanks & rita wilson for examples, who are still outside of the U.S. have still NOT COME BACK to this country yet?? because of the travel ban, THEY CANT COME BACK YET, not until the travel ban gets lifted, which trump & congress have not done that yet!!) & there are border control in both the canadian borders & the mexican borders - to keep people travelling from in & out of the U.S.!!

 

& if i recall, didnt celine say while the tour was going on that all of her kids, & her sister linda & her sisters husband were all @ HOME IN LAS VEGAS while she was touring?? i could have sworn i had read that somewhere coming from celines own mouth last year or earlier this year while the tour was still going on... so anyway, if she went back home to vegas (WHERE HER CHILDREN ARE LIVING @,) she still CAN NOT go to quebec, or the whole country of CANADA PERIOD, or anywhere OUTSIDE OF THE U.S. right now because of the travel ban... i know it is still active because a former classmate of mine who lives in mexico is currently STUCK in the U.S. since she & her husband & their pets came back to their hometown here in maryland in march for a 2-week vacation, but because of the pandemic & travel ban, they CAN NOT go back to their home in mexico & are still here in the U.S. lol!! but theres not much anybody can do about that...

i just hope the U.S. can FINALLY get a grip on this virus so the positivity numbers start going down, but with WINTER COMING SOON, its very doubtful... 😬😣

WOW the same exact thing happened to ME: i had to unfortunately refund my tickets for the march 11th show in washington DC (as i had NO CHOICE because the daycare center i work @ had temporarily CLOSED because a couple of my coworkers had loved ones that TESTED POSITIVE for the corona, & therefore we all had to quarantine for WEEKS, & @ that time i had NO IDEA what was going to happen next or & if i was going to have a job again - so i refunded my celine tickets - because hey I GOT MOUTHS TO FEED & BILLS TO PAY!!)

 

& ticketmaster also gave me a HELL OF A TIME too - i refunded my tickets end of march, did not get my $$ back UNTIL END OF JUNE!! (which by then i was already BACK @ WORK & didnt need it then, but it would have BEEN NICE to have had that $$ when my family & i REALLY NEEDED IT SMDH!!!!!!) 😠😡 STUPID & GREEDY TICKETMASTER!!!!!! 😠😡

 

like you had said, they are holding onto everybodys tickets because they want to HOLD ON TO EVERYBODYS $$ as long as they can!! we all know that EVERYTHING WILL BE POSTPONED NEXT YEAR, the virus is nowhere near being gone yet & the vaccine is nowhere near ready for completion!!!!!!

 

the rest of this forum need to realize that the ONLY REASON WHY all concerts had to be rescheduled for next year is because all of the VENUES & CONCERT PROMOTERS (AKA TICKETMASTER,) WANT TO HOLD ON TO PEOPLES MONEY!!!!!! & it is NOT ONLY CELINE this has happened to, but TO ALL PERFORMERS!!!!!! the promoters & venues pressured the performers to reschedule concerts dates because they dont want to lose $$ from fans, & they will all stretch that out as long as possible, then will reschedule the concerts YET AGAIN right @ THE VERY LAST SECOND!! yep welcome to 2020, buckle your seatbelts lol!!

hmmm i have a question for you & i want your honest opinion about this - do you, as another celine fan, think that she could EVER go for something like this, the "VLIVE" thing you mentioned in this post??

 

& about the "VLIVE" platform - is it where the performers do their shows @ THEIR HOME?? (which is what ALMOST EVERY PERFORMER has been doing since the pandemic started back in MARCH,) or @ ON A STAGE?? (but with NO AUDIENCE (just like how LIVE SPORTS ARE THESE DAYS, there are NO AUDIENCE in the stadiums for baseball, basketball, ice hockey, & now football games!!)

 

& also the U.S. TV shows, "the masked singer" & "dancing with the stars", are all currently filming WITH NO AUDIENCES ALSO!! so i guess the "VLIVE" platform thing will be the "NEW NORMAL" thanks to the coronavirus, just like all of the live sports & the live TV shows are nowadays, all are being filmed WITHOUT LIVE AUDIENCES & everybody is watching the games & shows FROM HOME (on their TVs, phones, tablets, computers, etc)

 

& which country (or countries) is this "VLIVE" being used in?? again just out of curiousity (i am from the U.S. & i have never heard of this "VLIVE" thing before, & i do not know the countries from which you or most other members of this forum are from, sorry...) it woukd be GREAT if this was available in the U.S., & it would be REALLY GREAT if celine would use it if available in the U.S. - that way HOPEFULLY we can FINALLY see & hear celine again instead of WAITING until 2022 or whenever to see her again, IF REGULAR CONCERTS ARE BACK by then that is!! 😳😬
