It looks like there's a tribute gala at TIFF tonight. Apparently Céline's not there, but David Foster played TPOL with Pia Toscano:

Yeah. Not a David-specific gala though.

This is what I mean (in the other thread) about it being a good thing Celine isn't doing any promo right now. All the entertainment press is in, and focused on, Toronto. Pretty much every A-lister (and B-lister, and C-lister, and wannabe...) is there right now.

 

BTW, I wonder if the Valerie Lemercier film will be a festival premiere (either at TIFF or elsewhere). Gaumont is at TIFF right now shopping the international distribution rights...

  • Canada's Walk of Fame wants to make documentaries about it inductees, and apparently this David Foster one was the first on the list (I can think of another... :msn-wink: )
  • There's now also a Davis Foster stage musical in the works.

I don't think they have a US distributor yet, but it's getting a theatrical run in Canada: https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/8529480/david-foster-off-the-record-documentary-interview

 

"David Foster: Off The Record is still locking down U.S. distribution but gets a theatrical release in Canada Oct. 16, then airs on production partner Bell Media's CTV Nov. 28 and streams on Crave Nov. 29."

 

(Crave is essentially a Canadian Hulu)

Also, I don’t know what it is, I just do not like David and Katherine together as a couple...the vibe is just off. But their shared passion for Celine does make me glad they’re together for our sakes.

If Céline is talking about David one would expect it is about her relationship and experiences with David. We could have had something new or in more detail.

It was said she talks about her professional relationship with David. Considering they haven’t worked together for a decade or more, we’ve all heard everything by now.

I wish she talked about more is what I am saying. I would think documentary formats encourage people to not just repeat the lines they would give on a TV interview. We all know Céline is never truly as open book as she says.

 

I just shared a video where the writer of The Prayer shared details many members hadn’t heard before. I know those stories are out there, they just need to be told/prodded out.

Their vibe is very much a young girl who is obsessed with musical theatre, and 70 year old predator man looking for a fifth wife whose broadway show he can produce and use to make millions.

Anyway, I'm team Yolonda (I know Celine was more friendly with his earlier (third) wife, Linda, but they're estranged now, and she's weird and has had too many facelifts... plus her sons "the princes of Malibu," are awful. Yolanda's kids are Gigi and Bella, so...).

 

Thank God for reality TV, eh?

I saw Brandon Jenner on the Swedish talk show Skavlan and he seemed quite mature and decent!

 

Are you referring to Celine and Rene? If so, I disagree! Otherwise the reference is flying over my head.

Good to know he's grown up! I would love to hear Celine's 411 on the whole dressing room episode they filmed where she was supposedly waiting for David for 45 minutes (in her own dressing room, which was supposed to be their Suite). Although I guess he has kept her waiting in the past... as she mentioned once about a tennis match during Unison taping??

 

Anyway, yes I was jokingly referencing Celine and Rene, perhaps in poor taste. Sorry if it offended. :flowers:

Someone help me out here - where was that interview. Maybe My Story My Dream? It was when she had first met David and I think they were recording tracks for Unison at his house in Malibu. He had Andre Agassi or tennis pro there playing tennis with him when she arrived, and she waiting through their whole game.

I saw it on Netflix - nothing new about Celine but some nice clips and semi-rare footage, like a clip from her recording Voices that Care (which was already on YouTube but still nice). Most interesting, I thought, were the interviews with his kids.
