"She is somebody who's going to die on stage"

So let's all calm down, she isn't over with performing :giggle:

Did you see her looking to the side when talking about a possible release date? Like she was looking for a confirmation of what she was telling was right haha

That’s usually when Rene would chime in.

Haha yes!

I think there is someone else now who knows the dates :giggle:

Or not... otherwise someone there would have said something... (but they left her - and us - clueless)..

Well, if she goes to do an interview without even knowing essential stuff like her new album‘s release date, then something is totally wrong or she just doesn’t care at all Edited by ryba

You're assuming there IS a release date.

If there’s a release date set in stone then yeah. But if she’s still working on her album or waiting on her label to assign her a release date then what the problem. Record labels decide these things more than the actual artist. So it depends.

Exactly. Labels decide the release date, and it's very possible it's not set in stone just yet.

Once Céline is done recording doesn't mean the album comes out the week after!! Sony has work to do after that...

When Chloe says "English speaking album" I just find that so strange... There's no speaking on a Céline album! :-D

I suppose she should have just said "English album", but Celine is dodging answering that question with any real substance like it's the plague. I love Celine, but honestly that's pretty weak three years in a row. Get it together, lmao. Anytime Celine says anything about the damn album it just raises more questions than it answers. It doesn't give me great confidence that everything is going "well".

Meanwhile, she wants to talk about sleeping in the same bed as her kids and making children's clothes. Who cares! *sigh*

Lots of people care by the amount of positive press this has gotten.

I know we all are desperate for definitive information about the album but it just isn't ready.

The CNN interview wasn't for the album therefore it's understandable that she wouldn't be giving any good info on her new music. She spoke about her kids because she was asked & because they inspired her to start this collaboration with Nununu.

Celine just seems different nowadays. I miss the old bubbly Celine. Don't attack me, guys, for saying this, but she doesn't look happy in my opinion.

I care. That's the thing, I want to hear about other things than just music. I adore the whole persona, not just the singer.

Now with that being said, I wouldn't mind a different page of the story. With Celine, you hear the same story over and over until you want to jump. :giggle:

This may have something to do with recording the album. Celine really gets into the emotions of a song and singing an album full of love songs has to be tough for her.

I think after having it easy with a manager all of her life to take care of business, although she’s more in charge recently I don’t think apart from making her own choices I think she either doesn’t like the other bits that come with being a manager or it’s somply becoming to much.

I know she has Dave to help, but she no longer has a stable manager to take the heat off things.

Just my 2 cents!

That's right. Even if all the songs were recorded, mixed, produced... etc, I don't think they would release the album until Sony and Celine's management have fully prepared the promotional campaign (TV appearances in the US and Europe, music video(s), typical series of interviews on the release date, press release...).

God, when I write this things I realise I'd love to work at Sony Music lol

I meant the "who cares" kind of endearingly. I know that some people obviously care. I love that Celine can do what she actually loves, and of course she has more interests than just singing. She should totally get the space to do what she wants to do. However, the only problem I have is the way she talks about new music. Well, it's not as much of a problem really, but her way of answering it is overly dismissive, and she's not even giving it any real attention. She stops in mid-sentence and just cooks together the same answer as always. She knows she's been saying "next year" for several years now. It's awkward, and not credible at all anymore. I guess if there is a problem, that would be it. As much as I want her to have her kids fashion line and what not, when you see those things moving forward, but not the music that is still coming "next year"... something's up. She's got no problem picking up the pace for her fashion, but with her music... everything moves slower. I'm not blaming her for going forward with her fashion line, but don't tell me music is coming next year and then just put out fashion instead, and then just dodge all questions about the music and say "next year" again.

I guess we'll just have to wait until next year and find out if that might actually be the year, lol. :giggle:

Clearly it just isn't ready, but she manages to get out other things she's passionate about. So maybe if she had more passion for it, it would happen sooner. I don't know whats the root of the issue, but there is something.

Yes, but when people know that she's been talking about an album next year for years, she should expect to get asked about it. And she's Celine Dion! Music is what she's primarily known for, so a few bypass questions should be okay.

The album is coming out next year, the interview went to the new line of children's clothes, the year is ending, I believe that until January we will not have any noticia, and there is little left.

About her not being happy, I think she wanted a happy, dancing album with collaborations with younger people to bring in a new energy. I wonder, is it really true that they, sony totally changed the direction of the production of the album ???

Oh I get your point. True, how long can “next” year be? :)

i have to say i wished..from what i just saw, there were fragments to show, i mean 45 minutes reduced to this.

And Celine looked as if she did not want to be there, not looking the friendly interviewer in her eyes most of the times ( judging from these fragments) and she looked hard and exhausted. I think the blonde hair makes her look harder and she lost weight i think. I do not know, she should be passionate about new music but it is if she feels she has to. This is one of the first times i see her annoyed or tired like here

She was just playing the Diva role and I think it was about time. We all love our humble Celine but a bit of attitude is not bad. She is probably one of the most powerful women in music industry together with Madonna and Beyonce and she knows it. Love the "I don't want to sound pretentious but I have a lot of new opportunities"

IMO she looks beautiful BUT annoyed like she was forced to be there.

yeah, that was also my impression, especially when she sat between the 2 designers

Hasn't it though? I've had the chance to see her live in the last few years more than ever, she gave me two of my favourite albums, EES and SA, she is in the public eye more than ever since 2002, Ashes did great for her, critics and the industry are finally on her side... I'm quite satisfied as a fan

And what is "best"? It's quite relative & subjective. What Céline considers "best" might not be what you and I consider "best".

What critics? The critics in fashion industry you mean? Those voices in fashion magazines maybe? :innocent:

Also, what's "best" for you or your "best" albums is your experience as a fan and your favourites, which don't necessarily coincide with those of others.

And what is "best"? It's quite relative & subjective. What Céline considers "best" might not be what you and I consider "best".

Exactly. She might be just talking about personal life and her family. "The best is yet to come" may probably mean to her that she's just slowing down and dedicating more time to her family and less to her career. Which judging by the last years and the time she's taking to release a new album, is probably what she's referring to? :innocent:

So who knows what she really means when she's repeating that mantra. Maybe she's just picturing herself out of all contracts and professional obligations and just laying on her couch in her pajamas and playing with her children (I wouldn't be surprised at all).
