It's not that difficult to understand... Singers don't make that much money from albums anymore.

Most of them tour a lot more than they release albums. Céline is no different - and she loves to be on stage! (And I'm happy about that!)

Yes, but the songs in her albums immediately transport you to that show you attended when you listen to them, in case that concert has not been released (as is the case with all the recent tours she's done since 2016 lol :innocent: ) We still have the albums to listen the original songs!

Why should one option exclude the other? :confused1: I mean, why do we have to rule out new albums when both things combined are perfectly possible? In fact that's what she's been doing all her career until 2009.

Remember Céline is the one who accostumed us to having one studio album every two years or less, and SHE is the one who has decided to make us wait 5 years between each album now, for whatever reasons she may have :innocent:

But it's not normal. That she wants to priorize doing concerts and tours and Vegas and not recording new music, when she had the greatest ease to do it, it's her choice, we all agree on that, but it's not easy to understand (especially in her case and her huge position in the business).

Lol those songs don’t transport me to her concerts! Unless it’s a live version, but we’re not talking about live cds.

And this isn’t the first time I’ve said this on here but, during an interview back in 1996 Celine said she “always hopes an album has a long life, but as long as I’ve got my audience and can go on stage I’m happy” - why do people think now in 2018 she’s going to think differently 🤣🤣

at some point, if you don't understand what are those reasons in the recent years,

I guess you mean the time during René's illness. I get that. But...

- From 2010 to 2013, they went in circles and totally beating around the bush with the LMBTL album;

- In 2016 we had Encore un soir, and album she quickly recorded and finished because something motivated her to do so: a personal reason? As a tribute to René? To have something new to sing in that summer tour to dedicate to René and the public? Whatever, but she proved that when she wants to, she rushes the process (and in a good way, not with a bad result).

- From 2016 to 2018: all we got is news and pictures of Celine in the studio teasing us with the new English album, and when asked about new albums and songs, she eludes the question and deviates from the topic. Almost two years later, and we know nothing about the process, the delays etc.

Now about the personal reasons that some have hinted about it, but these are only pure suppositions:

- Céline has no interest in recording new music in the studio (I don't believe this at all);

- Céline's priority is clearly to perform live and give shows and tours, not to release albums anymore (THIS may be true);

- She doesn't receive good enough songs, so the album has been delayed for this (who believes this, seriously?)

- She wants to dedicate enough time to record this album to give the best album possible. Okay, but two years? Seriously? I don't believe this either.

Nothing of those arguments have been confirmed, they're all hypothesis and mere conjectures. The only argument that I see possible is that she prefers to perform live over recording new albums, but not that she doesn't like to record them. However, she has never affirmed this. So until Céline herself says/confirms from her own mouth any of those points, I won't rest my case and I'll keep saying that 2 English albums in only 10 years are very few, and strange :)

Even CHER is releasing a new album this fall! Cher, who took 12 years without releasing new music until 2013, and now she has a more regular pace than Céline giving new albums to her fans :P

Especially considering the fact that in the entire 90s there was an album every year (except 1994 but then she had O’Lympia sooo) sometimes releasing twice in one year. She then released between 2002 and 2004, 4 albums all very closely together. Giving that shes more into her shows, a single mom and is trying to spend all her time relaxing and enjoying her 50s (and life in general) i dont blame her.... at all. Celine has always and i mean ALWAYS taken shows over albums, shes always said she will perform until she can perform no more and has always said her greastest thrill and her greatest memories were on stage infront of fans

All the way is #17 and The Essential is #69 on iTunes Indonesia. Her tour reconnect her casual fans. If after the tour she release new album, I think it's smarter than release it before the tour. It is huge knowing recent trend in my country that if not goes viral, nobody cares. Even Katty Perry whose her prime is not so long ago can not sell ticket any longer (in my country). So, to reconnect before releasing any new material is a good idea.

Lol yeah I know but it wasn’t Celine doing the song for Bond - as you said. She just covered it.

Well Dua is hot at the moment, and British. So it makes sense.

Maybe when Céline turns 60 she will do the Bond theme - Licence to Retire :giggle:

Judging from the amount of 'new' (or 'recovered') Asian fans I see on Instagram (some surprisingly young), I'd hardly say she's wasting her voice.

Just look at me, I thought Céline was a legacy/nostalgia act until I saw her live in 2016 and became the Céline loon I am today. A new album would've never achieved this.

I think it's a combination of both.

I became a fan after listening to Ashes. I always loved her big hits but before Ashes I didn't know she was still making music.

Live performances and new music keep her relevancy alive and assured she has a long legacy.

Oh you're a new fan? Welcome!!!! There's an account of a Celine fan on instagram named maki I think and I thought you were the same person.

New music however needs to be made viral or popular for it to attract new fans. Not many people really know loved me back to life was even a thing even though Celine promoted it, but ashes went viral because of deadwood so it was easier for the general public to get interested in Celine again

The thing with this kind of fans is that they believe they're more entitled to be fans for the many things they buy from Céline or the hundreds of times they go to see Céline in her shows, and that's where they real risk of not being nice becomes to surface.

When Ramona was spotted on every M&G Céline did in Vegas during A New Day, and continued requesting M&Gs during the new "Celine" show, many fans started to say that if it never was enough for her, or if nobody controlled the amount of times Ramona had been on M&Gs with Céline, because the time Ramona spends meeting Céline is a time she's taking from some other fans who have been there in Vegas for the very first (and probably the last) time. And I think that's a very solid point and they're right on that.

Nobody is a better fan for having seen Céline 800 times in Vegas, or for buying everything she releases with her name on, than a fan who has never seen her live or only owns a couple of her CDs, but lives every second of her songs every time they play them.

Yeah Vanessa is not hurting anyone (for the moment lol), but imagine how other fans must feel after that M&G when she offered Céline a gold ring in a wooden box and they only came with a letter or a flower to give her LOL :giggle:

Just so you know I talked to V about the meet & greet and it actually wasn’t a meet & greet, there wasn’t a professional camera crew at all and Céline let V come backstage to give her the gift! That’s about it, they talked for a few then V gave Céline the gift but V didn’t get professional photos at all like I did or some fans on here have gotten! They used a personal device to take a video and that’s about it. Also meet & greets are only Fridays and Saturdays ;-)

As for the M&G's: Don't forget it's a business?

I work in a store, so try looking at it this way: Isn't it normal that a frequent customer gets more perks, especially the really long-time ones? Maybe I'll allow a long-time customer to pay later if he forgot his wallet (which I would never ever allow for a more infrequent customer). Part of it is good business (you might lose a good customer if you don't go the extra mile). Part of it is years of mutual trust. I know what to expect from my best customers (they will pay), Céline knows what to expect from Ramona/Vanessa. An 'unknown, unconnected' fan might behave in unexpected ways...which is apparently the reason 'random' M&G's were cancelled in the first place.

Ramona and Vanessa are very predictable fans and at this point they’re allowed backstage more because they have private connections, but they still don’t get anymore than us! I know that sounds crazy but it’s not like every show they go backstage! I had my meet & greet and Ramona was in her seat at the show waiting! So it’s more about timing and luck! They just have more connections than us but they have also gone to a lot more shows so they start to become recognizable :-) this has nothing to do with $$ it’s just time and luck! Meet & greets are all about time and luck that’s it! No one person is more worthy than another! It doesn’t seem that way but it is! I didn’t feel worthy to meet Céline and I got a meet & greet! Anything is possible!!

Also remember meet & greets are sometimes auctioned based and other times they’re hand selected!! There’s a lot of reasons for why they do things the way they do! Also pictures can tell a different story than what actually happened! That goes for Ramona and Vanessa!! Pictures don’t tell the story but I bet if you talked to them you’d get a different story than what you know ;-)

I don't have any Celine fan accounts other than on this forum which I've been a part of for a couple of weeks maybe.

Thanks for the welcome :)

It's true about Ashes going viral (but not even that viral), then again you never know when a song will become big. Also, LMBTL didn't have a music video and I think that would have helped it more. I think that album in general is very underrated. In any case, Ashes is what let me know she had more music but it was all the other songs released from TC and LMBTL albums that made me a hardcore fan. Plus watching her recent live performances.

No I didn't say she had to come with a full covers album, but at this point... :innocent:

Actually Cher was preparing a new studio album, but after recording the two ABBA songs for the new Mamma Mia movie she thought of recording a full album of ABBA covers just because she had fun and pleasure doing those songs. But her new songs will come eventually after this ABBA tribute album.

You open a door and sometimes it leads you to a place you didn't even consider before and it gives you joy. Wish Céline had experienced this feeling more often while recording music and preparing a new album :down: This is just another reason why experiencing and trying new music styles while looking for songs and creating an album won't happen as long as Céline is determined in only performing and performing and performing in a non-stop mode every year. And always the same songs, because I wouldn't say a word if each new tour and show she would bring a new concept and changes in the production... but it's not the case -_-

Great to see that Celine gets new and younger fans. Do you like her older albums (The Colour Of My Love, Falling Into You, Let's Talk About Love) or just the new albums ? You must listen to her french material (D'eux,S'il Suffisait D'Aimer...), they are amazing (she is more natural and artistic in French).

I'm still catching up on all her music but I love her older stuff. Where Does My heart beat now, Falling Into you, Treat her like a Lady (so different from anything I'd heard from her but I love it so much), Love can move mountains, If there was any other way, Call the Man (which I just heard for the first time 2 days ago) etc. I haven't heard much of her French songs but all the ones I've listened to have become instant favorites like, Parler a mon Pere, les yeux au ciel, Encore un Soir (my favorite), Destin, Qui peut vivre sans amour, Porque tu m'aime encore, Je Sais Pas. That last one sounded very familiar when I first heard it until I realized I had heard it in English when I was a kid, the French version is my favorite one now.

Sorry, I'm gonna stop cause I'll just list all her songs lol

I've always been very curious about this one so I have to ask.For example if you give Celine a gift and letter and then meet her after about a year or so later has it been shown anywhere that she can recall the gift you gave her or the letter you gave her. I'm just asking cause I've read things in the past from "certain" fans and I always take these things with a grain of salt so I'm curious if anyone here has had any experience in this area or knows anyone who has.

I personally don't know. But I don't think she reads the cards fans give her. She said in Las Vegas that she has people reading her mail. They might show her the gifts she receives though. She gets a LOT of gifts so I think that she doesn't remember gifts unless it's something very unique and special

I feel like she remembers certain fans! For instance I bet she remembers her core fans who sit in the front row a lot you know :-) I have had moments with Céline where it’s as if she is letting me know she remembers me! For instance she’ll grab my phone during river deep mountain high and try and do a video and I’ve never seen her do that with anyone else’s phone before! She definitely has a good memory and face recognition from what I’ve heard :-)

Thanks for the answers. I'm assuming she might not read mail sent to her(like using the Colosseum's mailing address) but maybe for example ones given directly to her hand by fans(I'm applying this to letter and gifts). I remember reading a while back that they are instructed to give her any letters or gifts she receives. Obviously this may have changed as the amount got more and more. Brandon I understand what you mean too. Last time when I went I coulda sworn while I was down at the mosh pit she looked at me a few times like "wait...I feel like I know her" haha or maybe this is false hope on my part.
