Tina Turner, Madonna, Sheryl Crow, Shirley Bassey, Carly Simon. What do all these singers have in common? They've lent their vocals to the soundtracks of the famous (or infamous depending on whom you ask) James Bond series. I believe without a doubt that Céline would be a perfect match for this type of soundtrack. She did amazing work on the smokey and sultry songs such as "Halfway To Heaven" and "Refuse To Dance." It's time she has another song of this caliber. Maybe she could add a cover of one of the James Bond songs into her upcoming Vegas show? :)

 

What do you all say?

 

It looks like my wish is coming true (sort of). She's doing a James Bond tribute in her new show. WOO!

I have been wondering....Does Celine & Co. do anything "special" for opening night? Like do they have a special Ltd. Ed CD, conert program, etc they would be selling. Just wanted to know for budgeting purposes. Thanks for any help!

For Opening Night of "A New Day..." everybody who attended that night got a gift bag which included:

  • Promotional copy of One Heart
  • Show program
  • Chrysler key chain
  • Bookmark
  • Parfum sample
  • Special note from Celine

So, if they do anything this time around I could see them doing a gift bag that includes something like:

  • Promotional copy of My Love: Essential Collection
  • Show program
  • "Celine" pen or pencil
  • Parfum sample
  • Special note from Celine
  • A coupon for free dining or half off at a Harrah's restaurant

That's just me speculating, though.

Around the time AND opened, someone started selling on eBay this 6 CD set called A New Day.... The Ultimate Collection. If I remember correctly, the seller was saying it was sold on opening night. Naturally, I brought it to only get a fake copy of who knows what. This is way before I was in the fast track on Celine releases (thank you CDF!!!). Anyways, does anyone know if this was ever released? Cause I couldn't find anything on this anywhere. Thank you!

I learned in one of my classes today that Canada actually has limits on how much American music can be played/sold in their country. I guess that's why it's Celine on the cover of the magazines every other week.

I'm sure that's a reason but she's also on the cover very often (mostly in Québec) because when she's on the cover, they sell so much more!

Is it only me or has Celine's voice changed to the better?!!

It seems so fresh, and beautiful. Not that it wasn't beautiful before, it's just seems like it's back to the 90s.

There's only been like two performances this year so it's hard to tell yet but I have to agree, she definitely sounds less nasal, if that is bad or good is up to each and everyone.

Both the Lullabye and Happy Birthday performances were stunning, none of them was nassal. We'll have to wait a few hours to judge the Smile performance at the Oscars. I'm convinced Celine learnt the lesson when she decided not to use the nassal technique when she visited Star Academie back in 2009; her voice was incredible then, less than a month after finishing a worldwide tour!

 

Now that she has taken two months of singing-lessons, I'm sure that she will have a voice more similar to 2002 (or maybe even like 2001, her rendition of Happy Birthday was very close to her voice on God Bless America).

OMG Thats Exactly what i thought! I even Played God Bless America And the Happy Birthday at the same time. This Is like 2000-2003 all over again! ... Hey im Sure having kids does something special to her voice haha ;)

Did you know that Gloria's worldwide hit "Heaven's What I Feel" (from her 1998 album Gloria!) was originally written for and recorded by Celine???

 

Thanks to a friend, I've just known that. It's said by Gloria herself in the booklet of her greatest hits album.

 

Another missed opportunity by Céline to have a nice dance and successful song :doh:
