So i went through a bunch of remix on soundcloud to compare them with the videos... turns out the remix playing that night was from Lucas Medeiros.

Ashes turns out to be a great remix song! But as always, the unofficial ones seem better than the official ones

I was watching the music video again (I am not obsessed with the song...I'm not) and caught an editing mistake in the audio that makes me scratch my head.

It's such a beginners mistake and I can't believe no one caught that before uploading the video.

 

It's in the ending banter between Celine and Deadpool. You can hear the cuts between lines because when they speak there's the normal abience sound caught by the boom mic and then they cut after their lines and you hear a sudden silence. I can't un-hear it and it's annoying me lol.

Ashes is currently at #193 on the U.S. iTunes chart. With the release of the movie through digital platforms, it has caused the song to jump 500-700 places up the chart, and it is still going! Edited August 8, 2018 at 04:47 AM by TommKat22

Just watched the Deadpool 2 Super Duper Cut. In one of the final scenes, you can hear "Ashes" sung by Jordan Smith!

In the original version of the movie, they play A-ha's "Take on Me" in this scene.

Remember that internet-breaking video from back in May, in which Deadpool dances on a stage as Celine Dion belts out a brand-new song? Yeah, that little ditty wasn't actually produced with Deadpool 2in mind, but was chosen when director David Leitch was cutting the movie together and needed a breather between the death of Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and Wade (Ryan Reynolds) coming to terms with her death.

As a result, that James Bond-inspired opening was born, something X-Menproducer Simon Kinberg described as "her funeral" — as recounted by Leitch on the audio-commentary track of Deadpool 2's digital edition, which was just released.

"We were auditioning songs [for the interlude] and Columbia [Records] had a song that they felt could be a hit and was a ballad... I just laid it against the imagery and I'm like, 'Holy sh**, it's thematic to the idea of a lot of the characters in the movie," the director continues on the commentary, which also includes Reynolds and the screenwriting team of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. "Losing everything and hopefully, something beautiful can come out of it."
