Céline's albums on vinyl

I need to check All By Myself again to see if there is a difference from listening on apple music vs Cd. I have several copies of both albums on cd and The Reason has always sounded a bit distorted to me, mainly in the parts of the climax with both vocal layers.

 

The Reason definitely has a little distortion built in - I'd say it's mainly from loudness wars over-compression. But by far the worst offender for that to me is I Want You To Need Me - that song is borderline unlistenable given how they eliminated every inch of dynamic range out of it. She's just screaming at me.

The Prayer might be a better choice, but I chose All By Myself just because it exists on some of the versions of ATW, and that it's one of her most popular songs.

 

If they ever released ATW vinyl, I do wonder which song they would choose to replace I'm Your Angel with though.

Honestly, both “The Prayer” AND “All by Myself” deserve to be on ATW. That would make a definitive greatest hits from the pre-ANDHC era.

I think you’re overestimating whoever’s running her social media tbh. They couldn’t even get her Taking Chances era date correct on those photos the previous post so I like your thinking but I think they’re purely struggling for content to post during this quiet spell, if I’m honest 😂

Merry Christmas to all the fans! Mom really went out for me this Christmas. JBL headphones and a stereo that is quite small but plays CDS Cassettes and vinal. The vinal is hard for me without sighted assistance but I'm trying to get the hang of it. I won't be here later today as I'm going to my dads so can't do major testing but mom got me the I Am soundtrack vinal! One is still on its way but not sure if it's Celine related or something else. What Celine albums are on vinal? If I'm right I believe we have Unison, TCOML, FIY and LTAL, maybe These Are Special Times? Any others I missed besides My Love?

thanks for the response! Can't wait to really listen to see how much of a difference in sound there is. Also not sure if A New Day Has Come is available on the vinal. I'd assume so but when mom read the tracks to me I don't remember her mentioning that song. The concept of the needle is weird to me yet. My biggest fear is by accident touching something I'm not supposed to while a vinal is playing. And why, just why is ANDHC or even Taking Chances not available yet? I would've expected those to be available before Loved Me Back To Life.

Out of the vinal releases, are there any that you would recommend I get first? I didn't even learn that vinal was a record until today so I have a lot to learn. I'm considering TCOML, FIY or LTAL, but don't want to buy any yet in case the one mom bought is Celine. It's coming from the UK so won't be here for a bit.

I feel like her first 3 English albums and ANDHC would be the most beautiful listens on vinyl. That's just speculation on my part, though. If you want some bang for your buck in a sense, you could get her All The Way... compilation album on vinyl.

would love to have All The Way but I don't think that was released on vinyl. Doesn't make sense to me. You'd think an album like that would be released on vinyl. It's a greatest hits album with some new songs. Anyone know where I can find Unison or self title for under 100 dollars?

The DVD of the show A New Day... Live in Las Vegas was a tremendous sales success around the world. Despite this, the DVD of the Celine Live in Las Vegas was never released. So they probably simply don't care.

So much could be done with the material on file... At least a Collector’s Series Volume II could be released.

They just don't care more likely. The sales are actually quite good, at least for LTAL. Helps they are priced decently, unlike Unison or self title, though I have found a used self title for under 40 US dollars which I'll likely buy soon.

Taking Chances would probably sound great on vinyl. I just gave it a listen online and it's a delight on the ears.

I recently saw Unison will be released on vinyl as a celebration. Also it stated the record had been mastered using the old or original master tapes.

My question is has previous vinyls sounded better or just the same as any other media?
