Celeb love for Celine

P.S. You inspired me to do a quick ASCAP & BMI search. Nothing new there at first glance but what's this Isabella song that Celine apparently co-wrote?

(Also, according to the BMI page Celine has some co-writing credit on Lovers Never Die?)

I was watching Jackie Chan Adventures animated TV series with my husband, and apparently, after each episode, there is an interview with real Jackie Chan regarding some random topics. After one, Jackie Chan was asked what music he likes listening to, and he named Celine :w00t: Funny how I watched these animated series so many times in my childhood, but never caught it. I didn't even know who Celine was at that time, most likely.

I remember these titles "over you baby" and "Isabella", these songs were listed to be part of ANDHC, I remember the name of these songs came out, but they were never released.

And what about 'Don't Tell My Heart' with Aldo Nova and Jacques Dion?

Now if she pulls off something like this for her hits I wouldn't mind hear and watch them again 'live'

But the prerecorded track with her voice from a decade ago, combined with her recent voice doesn't do the trick for me.

Just stumbled upon this acoustic rendition of IACBTMN by Loreen

definitely a big no for me. The song loses all its magic and effect when it’s stripped down like this. I already hated the Im Alive acoustic version in Vegas. It totally destroyed a good uptempo song. Edited by ryba

I wouldn't mind that either. The stripped-down rendition would definitely take something of the magic of the original away, but she will never be able to sing it live again with the same power as she did in her prime anyway. So I'd definitely prefer a creative approach with her current voice on these old songs over a prerecorded vocal from 10-20 years ago.

I agree that the I'm alive acoustic version in Vegas was a bad choice. I never saw that one live, but if you compare it with the acoustic set in the 2016 tour: that acoustic set had the same intention in the setlist but was way better because of the amount of band members involved in the acoustic set. I'm alive only had two acoustic guitarists if I remember correctly.

To be fair, that medley also fit an acoustic setting better considering they were songs largely comprised of all those instruments, there wasn’t a lot different from their original versions, where as I’m Alive was a full pop production put into an acoustic form… I’ve always been indifferent to the A New Day/ That’s The Way It Is/ Im Alive medley… I thought it was really nice when they were all in the original key and had a lot of vocal energy from Celine in the first couple weeks. My favourite medley probably has to be the 2018 one though. The strings were just genius.

Good point, although I think if they would have done I'm alive with a full acoustic band like the 2016 tour with percussion, bass etc. it would have been much better.

For me, if it’s upbeat. They should use or at least combine it with a studio instrumentals. So, it wouldn’t sound sloppy. And I wouldn’t mind if she lipped all of her upbeat songs onstage as long as she would be energetic onstage lipping these upbeats.

I miss the running around onstage, foot dancing during RDMH, her energetic gestures

.Also in the new Power 106 interview, Bieber was asked by Teddy Mora about putting together a Canadian edition of the proverbial Mount Rushmore featuring who he considers to be the all-time greats from the region. Bieber ultimately selected Drake, The Weeknd, Celine Dion, Shania Twain, Shawn Mendes, and himself as the artists who should be included in such talk.

Céline wrote a little message in Paris Match to wish Michel Drucker his 80th birthday:

… or maybe it’s just love of the Céline / Titanic parody combo, but Andrew Lloyd Webber was at Titanique tonight.

In musical theater terms, that’s as big as it gets.

If they can get a legend like him to come, maybe they can actually get Céline to show at some point, too.

Now that's something I didn't wanted to know.

If ONLY she would have recorded it.

It's my fave from Shania and been dreaming about that celine would have sung it.

If only!

Wouldn't it be a nice concept for her next album to record songs that were originally meant for her. The tracklist would be amazing!

- From This Moment

- I Don't Want To Miss A Thing

- There You'll Be

- Unbreak My Heart

- Heaven's What I Feel (Sony, take it out of the vault pls!)
