My God, that rendition of Encore Un Soir is magnificent! Love the arrangement and the emotional capacity of both the lyrics & her voice. Kind of hard to argue with the fact that they AutoTuned her a bit (which I hate) but that still sounds pretty good.

The voice is better , more full, 2016 , it was more heady, but so emotionnal. The 2017 could be as you say, but as a french speaker, i'm a bit distracted by her pronunciation.

 

Well Québécois French is stylisticly different. That may be your issue. If you look at 2016 shows in Paris and compare them to 2016 shows in Montreal or Quebec then you notice she does pronounce things differently. For example when she sang ordinaire in Paris she sang “Un Jour” pronounced “un Joor” but in Montreal it was “Un joo” or when she sang Qui Peu Vivre Sans Amour, she sang it very differently, in Paris “Kee Pu Vee vruh sans a moor” but in Montreal “Keev Pooh Veevuh Sans a moor”. In 2016 i didnt feel as much emotion as 2017, she FEELS the lyrics and doesnt have to execute it perfectly

There was definitely some pitch correction. This was recorded by her team when they filmed the show July 8&9 in Paris.

 

If they used pitch correction you would head robotic tones following her “u” vowels as in her MHWGO video from Montreal 2016. But in this you can hear it is more natural. Even compare the July 9th footage, its almost completely identical.

If in all honesty its barely even edited, on the 9th her vocals were basically 99% the same. The only difference being that in the concert (unedited) she was SLIGHTLY off on the opening but they evened it out. Still far less edited than AND and INSANELY more raw than TCWT. TCWT audio was a TRAVESTY

I wouldn't say that 2016 was less emotional, overall, the 2016 summer tour was very very special, her comeback, the atmoshere was unique... For me one of the best thing she's ever done

And I just remember that feeling, when I was watching the stream from the first show and realised it's Le Vol D'Un Ange intro

I love that she takes her audiences in different places into consideration. She makes sure to adapt and connect with each country she performs for. For example, when she was in Dubai, she made sure to choose and modify a tour outfit as to not show any inappropriate skin that a female is not allowed to show in that country. Brought tears to my eyes. Just an incredibly thoughtful lady.

I’d actually be thrilled if the entire Vegas show was changed to the 2017 tour. Scaled back a bit, of course, to conform to whatever time limits Caesars Palace has in place.

I agree! I feel this show is more uptempo, flowing and really is Celine worthy. And you can see ahe does not have to wear gowns to wow the audience. I think the white dress she was wearing in Arnhem when singing Think Twice is a showstopper too and does work in a Vegas setting

But I can say now I can tell it comes from both nights. Look at 1:10 and she’s by the piano, then at 1:14 she’s suddenly center stage. I don’t think she went that fast?

Literally not Center stage lmao. It looked that way, but literally 2 seconds later with a smooth transition we see from a seperate angle that shes still close to the piano. Its also vocally IDENTICAL to the 9th

People do not pass up this opportunity. Even if it’s too late to get a DVD of that tour maybe it will help bring attention to Celine’s team that there is demand and will change their mind in a good way for future tour/concert DVDs

Can't help the agreeing with your thoughts on TCWT audio this is waaaay better. It's very listeneable and already on my repeat for the second day in a row, but still they did unnecessarily straighten the pitch of some notes here and there

 

That and the new pretecorded tracks they put over the real lip sync tracks were uneven. The new ones for IACBTMN,MHWGO and The Power of Love sounded good but TLYM sounded awful and All by myself high note was terrible.

 

 

 

TCWT audio was so robotic and made her sound even MORE nasal than she was during the tour which is saying something because in that era she was super nasal. The only track i like is My Love because on the My Love : Essential collection album they did it unedited

 

In the EUS clip they actually left the two C5s in the big bridge toward the end. Also I love it so much when she does the “encore,encore,encore,encore,encore,encore,encore...... un soir”. ITS SO GOOD
