Oh no please don't die !!

I'd love to go to Sweden once and if I can combine a trip with a Celine show then why not (that's what I'm planning to do if she comes to Berlin).

She performed in Sweden during th TCWT. DId you get the chance to see her ?

Actually, after aaall these years... A few hours ago I find my pictures that I took when I saw her 2008. I only had them in digital and I have looked after them in many years now. I thought they where gone forever in a dead computer. Im so happy to find them!

I LOVE Stockholm so much and I'd love to have another reason to go there when Celine announces a show there. Although a trip in june is already booked
But I'll be happy with germany als well

Watching George Michael's Symphonica tour again and it's made me frustrated about Céline's tours. For this one he sang a combination of new songs, classics and his personal favourite covers with an orchestra... this had the potential to be awful but it ended up one of the best of his career. Not only that but he skipped out career defining hits such as Faith, Careless Whisper, Freedom, I'm your man etc.. Back in the 90s he did a cover to cover tour featuring his versions of songs by Culture Club, The Eagles, Terence Trent D'Arby... astonishing considering the number of hits he already had of his own! I hope I'm wrong but I just know Céline's next tour is going to be the same old same old. She has to do them. I want to hear them when I go to her concerts. I think the choices for the francophone tour last year is a good indication that we will hear different songs for the Anglophone tour while still having the hits (MHWGO, BYLM, TPOL etc). If she did a show with all songs that many concert go-ers don't know, it wouldn't make any sense imo

She should add in her Las Vegas shows, every month or period, one or two lesser known songs from her repertoire or the ones most liked by fans, she could make a vote, the most voted she sang, a song in las vegas not Would change in no way the concept of the show.

My original point was that you think you want them til the artist does something so good you don't even care they skipped certain songs. We're just not used to this experience because Céline doesn't take these risks.

Sorry to say but I've never been to a Celine concert I would be very dissapointed if the big hits like Mhwgo, Bylm etc. wasn't on the set list. Seen many videos from recent tours but to hear it live is a different thing. Been a fan for a long time but never been able to go to a concert so many of the hits would be first time hearing and seeing live. This is why I hope they don't cut out the big songs. But I think they can change the musical arrangement of many song to bring them back to life. I can understand you guys who have been to many concerts and Vegas shows that it might get "boring" with the same set list.

I think if the "popular" songs were refreshed etc then more diehard fans would enjoy them. She's been singing the same versions of BYLM & IACBTMN for instance for so many years. Obviously she's going to include them, but I do wish they'd freshen them up. Perhaps have them as part of the acoustic medley, because I really can't see Celine ever singing the full version of IACBTMN again (although I wouldn't complain if she did 😀), and then reintroduce TTWII etc into the main show. Something needs to be done about RDMH imo. She's definitely getting bored with it, it's turning into LCMM Part 2! And I love LCMM but it's needs to go, they both need to go. But they have to be replaced with other uptempo fun songs that she can dance and let loose with. I think TTWII followed by IA could do it.

I'd be more than happy with this too... acoustic, orchestral or just updated sound; there are plenty of options for something fresh!

Okay what ever happened to the piece that Nicolas Jebran made her?! I would like to see if it's that black fringe thing or not. I guess they just don't like it or something...

(I know she has the new opening but I don't think it's Jebran. It looks too much like the other opening dresses to be him, from what I can tell.)

If there happens to be a tour of any kind this year, I'd like to see her come back to Atlantic Canada. She hasn't played here since her LTAL tour in 98-99 and she was set to play Halifax on her TC tour, but due to negative press, the concert was cancelled.

I think many song sounds boring. Music arrangement wise. I find that weird cause I think many other artists sounds better live than the studio. Almost as I would not have a problem if they would use the studio track and Celine sing with that instead of the band. There is no feeling, creativity or whatever. Can't pinpoint what it is. Well i don't know just some thoughts....

Easy: that she sings the same songs hundreds of times until she totally worns them out :down:

Consequently, the 50th time she has sung the song, the passion has completely evaporated and the automatic pilot of the singing machine switchs on. But there's hardly emotion in the performance.

It's just normal! That's why we say and keep saying since 2003 that the setlist should be renewed more frequently, to avoid this feeling you talk about.

I think we are in a quite unique situation because Céline surely has performed more concerts by a mile than any other performer- we're so used to 'the same old songs' that she has to sing, all those hundreds of shows. It makes it seem moreso that she has sing them to death, because she has done them so so often.

Yes and still in all those hundreds and hundreds of shows she didn't find the time to perform new songs from past albums, or do special/unique concerts performing songs she had never performed before, for a change :innocent:

The closest example of this arrived with the past summer tour, when we saw songs she had never performed before, some of them from as back as 1998, 18 years ago (TLBSEPT). That setlist, after two world tours (1998 and 2008) and 1,000 shows in Vegas, it was about time, right? :ermm:

What I want to say is that few artists have had the chances and the position that Céline has to perform anything she wants. But yet, she has ignored those chances and neglected her own repertoire in the most stupid way. Yes I know using the word "stupid" here is kind of silly, knowing she has a gross revenue of millions of dollars, and all of her tours and performances are highly successful. But that doesn't excuse the fact that she has missed a lot of chances to make her concerts and live legacy even greater and richer. As we know, we have multimple DVDs with the exact same songs on them, repeated through the years :ermm:

What would have been 1 or 2 concerts in Vegas, between 2003 and 2016, with a completely different setlist, made for the fans and composed of never-before performed songs from her discography, against 998 other shows with the same setlist? Would that have damaged her sales at all?

I know it's so repetitive, I know it very well, but we all know that if there's a singer who could have afforded this, that's her. So many chances missed in all those years, and her voice is not the same anymore as when the songs were recorded. Any new song that she wants to perform from her 1990, 1993 or 1999 albums, they won't sound as good as when they were released :down:

I agree Javito, really. I don't understand why so so many songs have been ignored. Imagine she performed Faith from One Heart in Vegas one night- the world would start spinning the other way. It's a shame.

I really miss that era :down: Her young, daring attitude while recording those songs. The OH promotion and performing OH at Top of the pops and releasing that video filmed inside a club surrounded by and interacting with people :down: Now she's all alone in front of a green screen.

Ooops shall I correct that: now we don't even get videos :wacko:

Not that I want her to be what she can't be today, I mean I know and perfectly accept she's 48, but come on, you don't need to act as if you were 10 or 20 years older. And that's basically what she's done all her career, except for 2 or 3 specific albums and years (1990, 2002, 2003 and probably 2007) :down: That's part of the reasons why I love the years 2002-2003 so much: because her age matched what she sang, for once. But it all went so fast. She's always acted like a premature self-imposed version of Barbra Streisand. But the years 2002-2003 were like a pause in time from that. Like breaking free from that premature version of an old classic Babra Streisand inside the skin of a young girl in her early 30's.

Ahhhh, sorry for the nostalgia in my posts these days Let's say that the best is yet to come, as she wants us to believe...

I wouldn't mind another trip to Canada. Last year was phenomenal, both the shows and Quebec itself were amazing. I had only ever been to Montreal, Quebec City and Toronto before so it was good to see other parts of the Quebec and Ottawa in the course of our road trip, it really is a beautiful place. It would be an excuse for me to explore a bit more of Canada anyway.
