The weirdest part of hearing think twice in vegas was how lifeless the audience was. Every bootleg from the tour you can hear the excitement when the song starts. The crowd goes nuts. In Vegas, that same feeling is gone.

 

Isn't that reaction the same for the majority of songs in vegas lol

Um... yeah.... ditto! If you saw a crazy lady stand up in the front row and shout the "No no no no" um that was me... that is all.

It's a different type of audience and you just don't get the excitement of the tours. I find it's more sit down and enjoy the show where the energy that comes from the audience at the tours makes you want to jump up and down screaming while singing along at the same time.

Some decent changes were made tonight, but there is still a long way to go before the show resembles anything iconic and cohesive. I hope that changes in the coming weeks ahead.

Why would we hate to admit it?

 

IBecause lots of fans here ARE NOT fans of IYA for some reason, I love the song ; and the bottom line is whether we like the song or not, chart wise and commercial wise, it is one of her greatest and must successful hits of all time. It may be more successful than BATB chart wise I'm not sure but it.

I understand the point you make. It does make a difference in seeing a show. But it also would make sense for certain songs to be phased in and out. Unfortunately it's usually the wrong ones and this is painfully obvious when a great song like immortality gets the chop after a year but paganini can stay in for 7 years.

 

Other artists are more fluid with changes and aren't so set in a song being permanent. I just wish they'd loosen up more in this aspect, comparably to how they are with costumes lol

Yes i noticed that too. That is why i am afraid it does not have a long life...i think fot her it is coming home when touring for enthoustiast crowds instead of doing her regular job for uninterested casual vegaspeople..

Blasted THINK TWICE in my car to and from dropping my kids off at school this morning. Please oh please make this song last another 10 days in the set list! I may not be able to cross Meet & Greet off my bucket list next week, but shoot - watching her perform TT is something I will not take for granted. I have wanted to experience this song live for soooooooooooooooo long!

So happy for these changes! Love that new dress. Love that my heart will go on is the closer. Think twice is delicious. I've always been a fan of IYA. Fingers crossed for more changes!!!!!!!

 

Most importantly, she sounded fantastic & she was having fun!

Britney’s show was the same for most of her residency. Shania’s was the same. It’s typical for a Vegas residency.

 

I think Paganini will be in the show forever. She LOVES singing that song.

Well, not really. During her opening speech she said her normal “Tonight, we’re going to sing for you” and the audience clapped. She then sang the two words “Surprise Surprise” LOL

I schlepped from New York to the U.K. to be present for "Think Twice" live lol. I never thought she'd ever perform it live in the States ever again.

The fact is that 99.9999999999999999999999% of the world do NOT follow her EVERY show - the vast majority don't ever notice a thing about costumes or how long a song has or hasn't been a part of a set list. We are super fans and if we get bored with Vegas...well...we should stop watching all of the clips and YouTube videos then. lol It's nowhere near boring for the average or casual fan...which is exactly who her Vegas show is geared towards.

 

It seems I'm one of the few here though...that even as a super fan, I think Vegas is fantastic! While changes are always fun, it's not necessary in my opinion as far as the success of this show, at this time anyway. And that's just it - if she's loving Mr. Paganini - well then, she should sing her little heart out with that song for as long as she wants. From what I've seen, the audience always enjoys it.

Think Twice was HUGE in Europe in 1995!!! Not a hit in the United States but certainly one of her greatest songs.

I think the Prince Medley is fine and TBH, I think she sings his songs better lol!! I think the Prince songs are fun during the mosh pit and she certainly enjoys singing those songs!!

Did she phrase them in her singing to sound similar to the song?

Honestly I think MHWGO was moved to the end for logistical reasons. They had to move down that entire water catchment thing in a little interlude, and it's massive. I guess they just did it so they wouldn't be so concerned with that. Security moving people to their seats would be easier I think.

They actually had the entirety of the acoustic medley. By the time the curtains opened, the stage was set. All Celine had to do was change into the blue dress and go! The interlude was just for her quick change.

Exactly - makes me nervous - cooperate people! Don't ruin it and make them take away this awesome experience completely. I think MHWGO is beautiful for the closing song, BUT...for this reason...I'd rather see them switch it back to being before the Uptown Funk medley.

 

And for Celine - the pit is probably one of the highlights...one of the only times the Vegas audience gets into it and shows excitement! LOL

I agree. Now that it’s a thing tho I don’t know how they could do away with it... unless they cut the Prince medley, LCMM and River Deep and replace that section with something else...
