Celine on Carpool Karaoke with James Corden

I feel like I'm becoming some kind of grumpy old man on this forum but really- why should we be worried about the comments or what people will say? She is going to be wacky, wild, will no doubt be singing her #ss off and sound amazing- this show was built for her.

 

We should be celebrating this, not dreading it because of what small-minded people say about her blue eye-shadow! ��

 

I just can't get over the way people on this forum now think about Céline. Like she has to project the image they see for her and only that image. Gone is the sweet, saccharine Céline of 94. She calls the shots and in my mind, as long as she keeps singing, I'm there for whatever eyeshadow or hideous suit she wears. Because she's my favourite singer on earth and I love her.

 

If she was supporting Nazis or saying ridiculously controversial things, this would bother me and I would be annoyed that she was undoing all she'd built- but really- I say it again- to get 'prepared for negative comments' instead of looking forward to Céline doing what she has always done, being her crazy self on a programme we've been wishing she'd do for years... poor Céline.

I agree, but it’s just a little strange that they claim to know all those details, about even a upcoming music video producer.

 

I think we will see UK/Europe promotion around June/ July. She will be out that way for the Hyde Park gig, I would guess possibly she’d do some press around tht time too.

They're not claiming anything. Merely making assumptions / drawing conclusions based on all the info we already know. (e.g. We've known about Michael Gaskell ever since that LinkedIn post.) It's just speculation and a summary of of what we've learned so far; no different than any of the speculation on this very forum over the past week.

With LMBTL, I believe the first single was released in September and premiered on Ellen, album followed two month later in November.

So if recipe follows, possibly see this album still released July/ August.

It seems like there's going to be early April promo for her new single and it'd be crazy to wait until late May to air her carpool segment.

But it says nothing about the release of the album... it can even be in the Fall (but somehow I don't think so)..

Yes excellent point. My feelings or opinions or thoughts don't mean I love her any less than anyone here on this forum. I've followed her since Unison and will follow her until the end and beyond.

Seems to me this is a fan making assumptions (I can see #1 happening) but some of the others look made up.

Someone asked why are they would show this in May when other interviews are in April. Makes sense to me..... fans will keep the momentum of a new single going and as it starts to die down.... bam.... carpool that will be seen by millions!

I'm quite stunned by the reaction of that photo. I think she looks fine, she's always looked older than her age, but she is an almost 51 year old woman and I think she dresses appropriately for her age. I like that about her. What do you expect when the Bellagio fountains are probably the biggest tourist attraction on the Las Vegas Strip. Everyone has their phones out there 24 hrs a day/ 7 days a week. Production team must have known and not cared.

Actually it might part of the marketing plan: creating some buzz prior to get the real thing, especially as the Titanic is THE signature song and people uses it now even for sport memes. It is culturally anchored.

 

More people knows something is in the pipeline so might tune in to watch the proper video.

 

And there might some additional scenes that we do not know about.

 

Basically the strategy might be: give a bit and keep some surprises.

It'd be interesting (though perhaps unlikely) if The Late Late Show had a full week of Céline content, like they recently did with Jonas Brothers, and with Harry Styles back when his album was released in 2017. Not sure it would have the same appeal for the "younger" crowd as Jonas Brothers and Harry did, but it would be great for us and for album promo!
