I can't help but recall what Aldo had said last year, that he'll be working to keep much more media buzz around Celine with appearances and award shows (and now we know a lifestyle line, too). Who knows what she'll sing - they're trying to keep her salient in the US.

They are promoting Celine as a person. The tide is turning as to how she is perceived by the public so the more exposure to her talent and her amazing personality the better. This way when she has an English album it won't be an uphill battle to get her viewed as relevant.

The fact that TeamCeline tweeted that they'll make Encore Un Soir available for pre-order at the same time as her Jimmy Fallon performance makes me think that MAYBE she'll sing EUS :hmm:

Okay, now that EUS has been confirmed for the Today concert, I'm even more sure that she'll also sing it on Jimmy Fallon tomorrow night!

If she really sings EUS - what a great thing this would be. My passion for Celine comes and goes a bit over the years (been a fan for 20 years) but this recent period is shaping up great so far.

I completely agree, that is why I am so excited! I said in another thread, American's are always complaining about her music being too shmultzy and even generic, but that is mostly just her English work. Her French works are much better, even critics tend to agree (those who listen to both English and french). And don't get me wrong, I am not necessarily predicting that she will have huge success or anything because it is still another language and that is not what America seems to be about. But it could happen maybe and if not, it could at least bring in some newer fans who never heard her this way before. Or even just give the people who complain something they might not hate... or just be easier for the american fans who DO appreciate her work to buy her french music without importing. Anyway, I know that I am super excited for this!! :-D :-D

This is the best decision her team made in a while! :yes:

 

Celine is about to showcase the mature, substantial part of her discography to an audience that is almost oblivious to it. Whether they will get the meaning of the song or not is irrelevant. Important thing is that everyone will understand that Celine is not a one-dimensional singer!

I was thinking the same thing, that would be amazing! I'm sure she'll do some fun stuff with Jimmy also, she's

always up for that kinda thing. Wish I could've gotten a ticket for that show, it sells out so early.

I'm really hoping she does ordinaire instead of eus. Maybe a little less obvious of a choice, but for night time I want a song with more umph. This is powerfull celine with full diva moves on display, I love it.

They wrote a "preview" of the album... It could mean anything...

Maybe they'll turn this into a Nice tribute/Rene tribute or something. I mean the general American audience has never heard a song in another language other than some Spanish maybe. They need some kind of reason to listen to a French song.
