Celine Dion on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon - July 21st, 2016

OMG, this is really exciting. Can't wait, guessing we will have a little forum party during this and the Today show :-)

Guys, please don't get your hopes up. This is standard practice. Celine is coming to NYC and her team is just trying to maximize exposure while she's here. There are no secret plans to promote a new English single from album that won't be available to purchase for another year. She's not going to sing in a foreign language on a night time talk show in 2016 (this is America - the masses don't really like anything foreign). I think it would be more likely that she and Fallon will do a lip-synch battle - OR - she'll sing a cover of a popular song, possibly Adele because she always gets great coverage when she sings Adele.

 

She won't be singing in French. She won't be singing Then You Look At Me. She won't be singing Refuse To Dance. She "might" lip-sync Breakaway as it is from her last album and there are rumors she's going to add it to Vegas.

I love, love, love that her team is taking advantage of this window of time between concerts, and that they're "cashing in" on the attention she's had for the last few weeks. Smart move to keep her in the public eye. I'm skeptical that she'll perform something new, but I've been surprised by the new team before, so who knows. I do think EUS is unlikely, since thus far it's not even available for purchase in the US. I'm not super enthusiastic about the possibility of TSMGO, since I agree that it should sort of be a one-off thing for the BBMAs (I know it's technically the current single, but it feels like the meaning will wear off the more she performs it on TV).

 

No matter what she sings, I am happy to get to see her on high-profile shows twice next week! I hope whatever she does on The Tonight Show gets some positive attention. I hope they do something fun to show off her sense of humor.

It has been sent to radios. Can't be a "one off", plus she's performing it on tour and in Vegas.

On tour and in Vegas is fine, as this song is a dramatic production show piece, hardly suited for a TV talk show.

1. Why did Celine's team make sure to mention the new p!nk song so early before the English record?

2. The song is called 'Recovering' which is Celine's state right now....

3. Celine said 'get ready'.... Why would she say that now?

4. Celine is on two high profile shows in the USA!

 

Just speculation But I truly feel something is coming!

I can't help but recall what Aldo had said last year, that he'll be working to keep much more media buzz around Celine with appearances and award shows (and now we know a lifestyle line, too).

 

Who knows what she'll sing - they're trying to keep her salient in the US.

Vic, Matt and anyone else in NYC, you can get on the standby line. (Hopefully she is taping the show on Thursday but we don't know for sure) You have to be there before 9am, they suggest 7am to get a number and they'll tell you what time to come back to see if you can get in. Here's the info:

 

 

If you're not able request tickets in advance, standby tickets are available same-day for each show. Standby tickets do not guarantee admission, but when we have extra tickets or cancellations those seats are distributed to the people in standby line. For standby tickets please arrive no later than 9 a.m. on the morning of the taping. The line forms under the NBC marquee on 49th street. Standby tickets are numbered and given out, in order, to guests in line at 9 a.m. After receiving your numbered ticket, you will be able to leave the line and instructed to return at a specific time later that afternoon to check-in again and see if we are able to ticket you for that evening's taping.

 

Once an individual has joined the standby line under the NBC marquee on 49th street, they CANNOT leave and return to their original place in line. You may not arrive early and "hold spots" for additional people to join you in line later, nor can you replace someone holding a spot in line for you. One standby ticket is granted per person. For additional tickets, you must rejoin the end of the line. Standby line tickets will be distributed at 9 a.m., but standby line typically begins forming a few hours earlier. There is no standard time that standby line starts, and there is no guaranteed number of individuals that we are able to admit from standby on any given day.

Everyone in line must present a valid photo I.D. containing date of birth. No one under the age of 16 will be admitted into the show, regardless if a parent or guardian is present.

NOTE: Before you go, please call our Ticket Office to confirm that we are taping on the day you wish to attend. The Ticket Office is open 9 a.m. - 5 p. m. ET, Monday through Friday at: (212) 664-3056.

Each Thursday that we’re taping, we give away two VIP tickets to see that evening's taping of the Tonight Show. A little before noon, we'll use the show’s official Twitter account @FallonTonight or Snapchat (username: FallonTonight) to share the location of our intern somewhere in NYC. The first individual who then finds our intern receives a pair of tickets!
