OMG, I really love the performance. And excuse me, but this is what you do with an OLD song and ORCHESTRA. I understand that it's the original arrangement but seriously they still don't use the orchestra to the fullest in the show. This is how it should look like!

 

And I must admit, after being bored with the duet, the solo version really surprised me.

 

The wig has to go though!

 

I loved it. I wish they would add the solo version back into her show in place of TFTEISYF with a slideshow on the screen of Rene and Celine throughout the years. It would be great in the same arrangement the orchestra could easily pull it off at Caesars Palace.

 

AMEN! It's nice that they've brough TFTEISYF but I have never been a big fan of it (it's really slow and depressing) and ATW solo version would be much better in this segment!

Céline looked great (and I like the hair) :wub:, sounded great and got recognized once again by her peers - and you can tell she was so happy to get that standing ovation. The only thing missing was a big hug :amour2:... and I sure hope she got one backstage.

That was a beautiful rendition! I highly recomend downloading the video on the multimedia section so you can enjoy the strings melting to Celine's voice throughout the performance. You can tell at the very end, when she sings "But if you let me love you..." her emotion and the message to Réne in her tone. Edited by pepillo90

Wow that was simply superb! I really felt for Celine at the end, it must've took all her strength and courage to sing that and talk about Rene.

 

It was a stunning version of the song and she looked and sounded great. That last note! After all these years she can still floor me! Bravo.

Wow. I loved it. I had to laugh at the joke about Frank being Rene's favorite singer till he met her. LOL at her writers. I kinda thought she may have been a tad uncomfortable saying it, but it was, after all, just a joke. Oh yes, that last note, hello. Yes she can still floor us after all these years that's what keeps us in/coming back to her. I agree, I would prefer the solo version in the show, and yes, the strength it must have taken to talk so openly about him. Non-fans and or anyone under a rock wouldn't know necessarily what/who she was talking about, but anyone who pays even the slightest attention, and of course, us, we knew. I loved especially how she said at the end of her little speech that she was singing the song for anyone who needs the strength to go, all the way. I needed to hear that, really, been having some rough times lately and man was that, and the whole performance, the boost I so desperately needed. I was so so excited after it ended, I am always giddy after hearing her on TV. And live, but those of you who were with me in LV know that well. :) Anyway, so so good to hear her back on TV and, yes, being recognized again. Let's see what she does next!

Hey there! I know you struggle so much with being blind, but there must be silver lining in the fact that your sense of hearing while listening to live music must catch every single note and nuance double than that of someone who can actually see it. I've been asked before that if I had to give up one or the other, it would be my soft because I can't live without music. I can't even imagine what you go through, but it is amazing that you have Celine to pull you through!!

Wow!!! I'm almost at a loss for words. What an awsome, beautiful rendition, the way she sang that song. Absolutely stunning performance. She was so emotional at the end, my Celine, am sure you tugged at many hearts singing it that way. Christina, my special friend, am so happy, don't know if that's the right word to use, that your/my Celine helps you to get through the hard times, what a wonderful singer you have, the best in the world, that gives you inspiration. :wub:

Honestly I have to say that the magic of all the way with these arrangements is gone ,the original version is way better,but it doesn't matter cause she looked gorgeous and beautiful and sexyyyyyyyyyyy :) and we still have the cd so we can listen to it any time lol

Someone will get mad at me I'm sure lol, but I thought maybe we might have seen the last of the corded mic and then bang the suckers back! :(

 

For reasons beyond my knowledge I just HATE the corded mic lol it's not diva enough for Celine in my opinion, but hey I guess whatever she prefers it's her decision but I still hate it lol, ok rant over!

I think I heard that all the arrangements in the show were ones that Sinatra himself had used. So I don't think Scott was involved.

Just in response to that picture of her from this event with Tony Bennett...can't forget their duet....in which Celine reminds us that, no matter how good she sounds now, she sounded beyond divine in those days back when. So many intricacies in her voice.
