I think the whole wig thing is really cool, they're actually really fashionable! But now whenever I see a Celine picture I look at her hair to see that raised bit about 2 inches along her parting where the wig is lol!

 

 

LMAO. Yeah, especially during numbers like ALONE, when she's in full throttle and showin' off her karate. hee hee hee

 

The wig has a bunch of little combs lining the edges, and elastic straps that are tightened around the crown of a persons head. Add any further personal touches to it, and you're set. If you want to get a feel for what it's like, wrap an ace bandage [or athletic bandage] around your head, pull it nice n snug and you'll get a feel for how tight they stick to you. LOL.

Same here I keep looking about for the join of the wig - it's actually really annoying bc I keep staring at it!! lol

 

 

ha ha you guys are so funny! but yeah, it's like anything else celine-related... once you know it's there, or it's about to happen, you look for it all the time and it kinda consumes you for a bit. lol.

 

if you live in a town or city with a fashion/beauty district or beauty supply stores, chances are they sell these types of wigs. Not necessarily the exact one that she's wearing, but lots of other ones... a half wig made of synthetic hair, depending on length, can run between $50 and $100 USD. If you go for natural hair, or more eccentric styles, it will be more. I've gone wig shopping more times than I'd care to admit and am always surprised by the variety and pricing.

by the way, when she did the promo trips for 'taking chances' (x factor in the uk, oprah etc) that was all her own hair, no extensions, and no wig. You can tell if you look at the shots from then. No where near as much hair, and she doesn wear it up even when out and about! The wig started for the tour, so i'm guessing she cut her hair shorter for the tour too for ease and chose to wear the wig. much quicker than your own hair and looks better!

Plus if anything she has MORE hair there than of recent. I don't think there's any way it can be her real hair, she hasn't had her real hair that length since she was young.

X-Factor was recorded October 2007 and Celine had previously worn a wig during the ESNRQ video which was recorded earlier in the year, so she had worn them long before the TC promo tour. Also, she did wear it up during the promo tour, here some pics of her in London:

Wow she really has worn it alot. I would hate that personally! It would most definitely feel like a hat to me ha! I really would feel like "playing dress up" every time I went out haha. But hey, I'm sure she's used to it. And it looks fabulous

I think that back 1999 it was extensions too. The thing is that she really looks great with very long hair.

The wig has deffo been around for a while. I can't believe it took us so long to figure it out

 

During her younger years, especially in the Zora Sourit/My heart will go on music videos, we can see how thin Celines hair actually is, just like anyone elses really. I think the wig was a wise idea, extentions really can damage the hair if worn continuosly

but besides that: I can understand that she choose wigs instead of extensions for the tour. it's more comfortable and takes less time to style. although it remains a mystery to me why she didn't loose the wigs while moving wildly onstage ...

That was not her real hair. She hasn't had her own hair THAT long for years. She had extensions in her hair from the time she first appeared on the Grammy's with long brown hair, singing Dance With My Father, up until the last year of Vegas, which is when she started using the hair piece. She also used the hair piece in various music videos, performances, etc., including ESNRQ music vid, Eyes On Me/Parfum video, CBS TV Special, UK TV Special, and onwards into the tour.

 

I think that till the tour began, she had extensions. I think that she started to use wig when the tour began.

 

She may have had some, but I kinda doubt it. She seemed to have made the transition from extensions to wig during the last year of Vegas. It gave her a great opportunity to "work the kinks out" as it were, and really test it out on stage, in an environment where the amount of cameras being used was as close to zero as possible. She'd been using the wig for probably a year or so before the tour began, so I think it's been the wig for the entire tour.

Those were extensions, too. Her long, straight hair during the ATW period had some assistance with extensions. A lot of it was her own, and her own hair was in great condition, considering she hadn't relied on extensions so heavily prior to that. It's kinda "weird" to explain, but natural hair flows, well, naturally, and moves strand by strand. Hair that has extensions in it, moves in "chunks" or "clumps", considering that it's sewn or glued in that way. Her hair during the LTAL tour had major extensions for a while [when it was super curly and really long], then when it was all straightened out it had extensions in it, too.

LMAO. Only those were used to be "cute"... she's wearing one now for other reasons. And that vid used to scare me a little... seeing her with different hair like that.

 

I've been searching for photos from the LTAL tour, but can't find any. If anyone has photos from when she first appeared on the stage, during the first leg of the tour, could you please post them? LOL.

This is clearly her real hair here- it seems with age/extentions/dye that Celine's hair has got weaker and a lot thinner. Bc if you look at older pics her hair is so much thicker and fuller

7 Jours magazine from May 2007. I didn't think she was wearing the wig that early but the empty wig stand suggests otherwise. I suppose it makes sense since the ESNRQ video was January 2007 and she talks about wearing a wig as if she had never worn one before (joking how she can't move while wearing it etc) but I guess she got used to it and decided to use it from then on.
