Did Celine every perform "Us" live?

An extremely rare (i think) audio with Celine rehears the song "The power of love" for the Junos Awards at 1994! In my opinion she sang it better at the rehearsal than the Awards night live!

I wish Celine would have stay this singer forever. I means, the kind of singer who sings the song the way she feel it this day, the adlib in the lyrics at the end, instead of the big note is flawless!

I've always said that her best vocals were made during 1993-1996, and that video is another proof of it. I think she enjoyed what she sang as the first day she sang in front of her family.

Not trying to mean that she doesn't enjoy what she sings today, but its different now. Of course, she hadn't harped on TPOL, BYLM, IACBTMN and MHWGO yet

Here's when she still felt what she sang in The Power Of Love. Listen closely to the amazing variations she does in this performance at the show Dimanche Martin (1994) :in_love:

both video's are amazing!! i've watched them a few times over the years, and i wished that she still would sing the songs these way.

they have to get over the fact that they think 'we' want to hear over the top songs exactly the same as on the cd... ;-)

when she is messing up lyrics, or rehearsing songs she is at her best. (ANDHC rehearsals for AND last show) :wub:

I personally didn't care for the TT improv......that song without the no's is worthless to me... just like ABM without the anymore note.

And holy COW!!! That TPOL rehearsal!!! OH. MY. EFFING. DION!

LOVE the way she sang "can't go on" ....I was telling Tim the other way that the way she did it during the AMA's is my favorite and this is the same!

LOVE the way she sang "the power of looove" before the bridge.

LOVE the emphasis put on "heading" and "ready" after bridge.

"lights years away....cause I'm your lady...." was PERFECT. She struggled with this part in a number of performances.

The ending note is my new favorite note!!! Length wise it was perfect, and maybe it was me but it seemed HIGHER than the others? What key is that??

The only COMPLAINT is the amount of echo during the ending note...

It's crazy that even when the song came out she still changed the key!

Aww that video just breaks my heart every time. She fights so hard to keep that tears from coming, but she just can't keep it back. That is one of the reasons I love Celine: she is not afraid to show the world her emotions... :in_love:

Thanks Koolan for the video. So, basicly, what they're saying is that this Raymond guy, it's was his 60th year in show-business. He's just a bit older than René and René was saying that it was the first francophone voice, francophone signer that he liked, that he was impressed with. He just wanted to congratulate him. Then, Céline says that she doesn't know what those ''tree bars'' are (what is that???) but she still appreciates him and he has a place in her heart. Then, she says that people who have a talent like his go beyond the generations and that she's going to listen to his album, she likes him even though she's not part of the same generation as René.

It's cute. She's so sweet! :wub:

Sure, I knew that she used Le Ballet for band intros in the FIY tour, but I had no idea that this song was used for this purpose in D'eux also...thought it may have been performed in a normal arrangement. But damn.....those guitar noises and that loooong high note. Wowwwww... I feel terrible Lol.

the song was meant as a single, but due to the flopping of Bicentenial Man they decided to release other songs instead. TYLAM was the b-side to the singles Live, TFTEISYF and IWYTNM (japan) though.

Bicentennial Man was a flop?! :confused: I thought it was a great movie! :cry: And I loved "Then you look at me" at the end. To me it was such a powerful song. :wub:
