smw Posted April 12, 2023 at 09:16 PM Posted April 12, 2023 at 09:16 PM This is one of my favorite talk show performances from Celine. She’s still soaring from the Grammys — and she’s so confident, effortless and joyful while performing. 1 Quote

Abodi2002 Posted April 12, 2023 at 11:23 PM Posted April 12, 2023 at 11:23 PM This performance beginning from 4:20 is very beautiful...Specially at 6:31 there are melismas and runs uniques from this performance that I don't think she ever did again...The head-voice at 6:52 is heavenly She actually does some fairly similar runs in a couple of the 2005 bootlegs I sent you, mainly May 8 and June 26, 2005. I love those headvoice runs for this song! 1 Quote

Abodi2002 Posted April 15, 2023 at 11:39 PM Posted April 15, 2023 at 11:39 PM So I am obsessed with this show footage...one because it's finally seeing the light of day and two...my first Celine concert was two days later in Columbus, OH. Hey, not sure if anybody has mentioned this to you yet, or if you were already know, but there are two Columbus 1999 bootlegs. One of them is only a partial bootleg. If you want or need a link to the full one let me know. 1 Quote
sebulba Posted April 16, 2023 at 12:54 PM Posted April 16, 2023 at 12:54 PM There are these rehearsals on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-1F0AABJEYhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lZ5Yh3D42Q Here most part of the song, but audio only: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgdvjG83V20 And this one isn't the AMA rehearsal, but it's impressive! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FClgzLx01MAThose videos were really great, thanks! But dang if the Japan performance had that ending like in the third video then that would make it absolutely complete. It's interesting to hear rehearsals because in those it seem Celine takes the liberty and makes the songs how she wants it then when it's time for the real televised or recorded performance she goes back to singing closer to the studio version in majority of cases. I guess and understands she has to do it for the regular audience otherwise they might not recognize the song or think the song sound weird compared to the studio or whatever but it's when she adds her own bits here and there that is when the songs becomes really great usually, imo. 1 Quote < >

DCCeline Posted April 16, 2023 at 03:05 PM Posted April 16, 2023 at 03:05 PM The David Foster one is the only live performance where she ran out of breath. For that reason alone I never listen to it. The Brunei performance may not be as poweful but her tone is more pleasing and less nasally/throaty. My favorite performance is the Dimanche Martin one. Something about the effects on the microphone. 2 Quote
sebulba Posted April 16, 2023 at 03:05 PM Posted April 16, 2023 at 03:05 PM I absolutely LOVE rehearsals for the extra vocals and creativity...Yes agree! Also I think comparing televised or recorded shows for CD, DVD or Bluray from a tour is a big difference for the same reason as rehearsals. I mean Live A Paris, Live in Memphis and Au coeur du stade DVD/CD are ok performances but I have seen bootlegged shows from these tours that has been so much better than those releases in terms of her performance. It's like she somewhat holds back when they record for future CD/DVD releases maybe to not make errors or something, idk. There are many bootlegged shows I'd rather seen released than those. That show featured one of what, three live performances of falling into you? Interesting falling into you was live yet all by myself was lipped, the complete reverse of how it was on the tour. Quote

Állex Sodi Posted April 18, 2023 at 09:45 PM Posted April 18, 2023 at 09:45 PM Ηow do YouTube streams turn into sales? is it the same as Spotify where 150 streams = 1 track sale, and 1.500 streams = 1 album sale ? As far as I understand, it’s not that easy to make this math on YouTube. First of all, the way this is counted changes from country to country. If we are talking about US/RIAA it’s the same number: 1500 = album sale. US/Billboard does different, 3750 = album sale. On UK and Germany it's even more complicated. They take the 12 most streaming songs on the album, kinda ignore the top 2 (so the sales of an album won't be inflationated by one sucessfull single). They calculate the averege of the 10 other tracks, divide them for 1000 (IDK why), and add the result to the sales number. (it's a weird math, I don't even know if I got it right). Either way, it's not as easy to us to follow that calculation, as every country only counts the streaming numbers coming from inside their on. As YouTube does not expose wich numbers are coming from where, it might be a little tricky to find out. Quote

Loved her vocal here and the little ad libs/ new melismas. I always felt it was Rene who was opposed to her going off piste with ad libbing/straying from the studio recording. It’s a shame because I think that did lead to RoboCeline. With this performance, she sang wonderfully but she didn’t ‘perform’ it enough for me. I like the wide stance and the ‘I’m gonna kick the sh*t out of this’ attitude when she performs and here, it looked like she was thinking she’d left the spuds on or something. A bit absent. 1 Quote
