That was 18 years ago, 3 kids, and 3 deaths later and thousands of shows later. I still think she sounds pretty good compared to her fellow companions, ie) Mariah and Shania.

 

She sounds amazing compared to her “fellow companions”! She’s one of the very few who in some ways are even better nowadays.

And, by the way, it’s 4 deaths (and that’s only her closest relatives).

The best is yet to come...

Yes, her voice just sounds very "gelled" together, all parts moving together in synchronicity. It's a lot brighter and more forward.

 

Less dragged down than today, I think. Today it almost sounds like she breathes in when she sings on I'm Alive....which I know is technically impossible, but the best analogy I can muster lol.

 

I think her voice today is an example of an impeccable technique taken too far. I don’t think she has really changed her technique since around 2011 (the peak of her technique in my opinion). The only things that have changed about her voice are the fact that it became slightly deeper and a bit more closed/clogged/nasal, since around late 2016. To me it sounds more natural today, in the early 2010s it sounded a bit too perfect.

The best is yet to come...

Hopefully someone else has this. I had the entire thing on VHS (along with tons of other gems - I recorded EVERYTHING Celine) and was just starting to transfer it all to digital when my VCR died. And I couldn’t find another one that wasn’t a ton of money. (Cuz they’re no longer made by anyone.)

 

I think I have it on VHS....like you I recorded everything Celine back then. I'll have to make the transfer of all the clips and shows a project some day.

 

About the Rosie interview....back when Celine wouldn't laugh audibly to protect her voice...

I think she was a bit too “fat” here (for Céline standards obviously), similar to August-October 2016. I prefer her figure in the 90s, early 2010s and 2017-2018. I also like the way she looks now.

At least you noticed that she gained weight here. I posted her pics during her TCWT here before and some said here she didn’t gained weight lol

I think FOMO is Celine’s best song of the album...and her best dance song of her career. This Dave Audé remix is insanely good, and he is an incredibly renowned DJ.

 

I was reminded that he remixed Céline by seeing this also amazingly danceable remix from him on a Ciara song. I think fans would like them both!

The dance mix is sooo strong. I feel like if i close my eyes i can see myself at a local bar with that playing...maybe...certainly more so than any other songs of hers if im being honest

I really loved her singing opera in that clip. It is really stunning. WHO can do that? I know Ariana and her peers cannot pull something like that off.

 

I only wish they wouldn't have dubbed her speaking over the singing for parts of it....they've done that with countless TV clips and documentaries that it infuriates me so much! Because when she's unguarded or off-the-cuff, not on stage or in studio, she delivers some of her most amazing vocals.
