incognito Posted October 30, 2015 at 04:25 PM Posted October 30, 2015 at 04:25 PM Yeah, after all they're talking about her son. As a mom, I don't want to think about my son in that way. I do think it's funny she thinks that at 27 it's pitiful I found her answer disturbing and not funny. Omg...I have limits. Who knew? 3 Quote

SuperLove4Celine Posted November 1, 2015 at 07:35 PM Posted November 1, 2015 at 07:35 PM Celine's team has done it again. They have posted more videos to YouTube/Vevo and not made them available to view in the United States. Aargh! This time, the idiocy involves audio videos of select songs from "These Are Special Times." Who all on here can view/watch/listen to these? Thanks! incognito Posted November 1, 2015 at 07:57 PM Posted November 1, 2015 at 07:57 PM Perhaps they don't want to make those Xmas songs available in the US so as not to impede upcoming Holiday sales. The album does well every year. 1 Quote

The album does well every year. If this were the case, they would not have been uploaded to Vevo/YouTube at all. The purpose of uploading audio videos is to help promote, promote, promote. Audio videos are BIG right now on YouTube and social media. The fact remains that someone does not know how to correctly post material to her Vevo/YouTube accounts. The connecting factor is Sony. This happens time and time again with ANY artist connected to Sony. So, I'm sorry to say, but your reasoning is flawed. Quote

SuperLove4Celine Posted November 2, 2015 at 12:52 AM Posted November 2, 2015 at 12:52 AM If only I had as much time on my hands as you. You had the time to respond to my post. So...yeah. Audio videos are stupid. Just put on one of her CD's and listen to the audio from there. That's what they're for. Not quite. Audio videos are very helpful tools when promoting a new single or a song on social media and in news articles. When an article, a tweet, etc. references a song, adding a link to an audio video or embedding the audio video directly into the post helps to add information to said articles/tweets/etc. Audio videos are used by big name artists to help promote their material before and during album drops. Janet Jackson was helped tremendously by getting her newest album to #1 due to the audio videos for "No Sleeep" and the Missy Elliot collaboration for "BURNITUP!." Thanks to these tools, Janet's new album helped propel her into record breaking status. So, no, audio videos are not stupid. Far from it. Your opinion is flawed, Matt. ;-) Also, the only person I have seen post a lyric video on social media is my 11-year-old cousin because omg....One Direction. Hardly BIG. She doesn't even have her own money to spend. Celine's demographic don't care about lyric videos. Most of them have lives... Big name artists post audio videos to help promote their new material. (See my Janet Jackson reference above.) Furthermore, fans of said artists promote these videos/songs via social media. Who cares about a person's age? They're still utilizing this feature. To bring age into this is ageist and discriminatory. To further prove my point that the recent videos not being released to America is not because of fear of impeding album sales, the audio videos for "Ave Maria" and "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" have been available on Vevo/YouTube for quite some time. So, why would it be that two songs from the album are available to watch and share in the U.S., but not the other songs off the same album? It certainly wouldn't be out of fear of them causing album sales to decline. 1 Quote

Anyone who would tell you she could make more money anywhere else besides Las Vegas for long periods of time would be lying. That's the reason she's here I believe, also it's where all 3 of her children was born, it's there home country, Canada will always be home for Cèline and Rene, but for their children my gut tells me they will always consider their home to be the USA. 2 Quote

It may help for a newly released single or album...but what good for an album that is 17 years old? An album that already sells well every single year. And why does it matter if you own every piece of her album material you're looking for on youtube anyway? Which I would assume that 99% of us do. We should be more annoyed that Celine's team is living in the past by putting up the "audio videos" of old songs and not using social media to it's full potential. Simple...because they can be used to help promote the album during the holidays. The audio videos would help bring in new fans if used properly. Also, sometimes it is easier and more convenient to bring a song up on YouTube than carry around CDs with us. Plus, not everybody has tons of room on their phones, MP3 players, iPods, etc. to house everything they own. Audio videos are a very helpful and convenient way of playing those songs that aren't able to fit on the aforementioned devices. And, yes, I do think I would do things better with Celine's social media than her current team does. However, I don't feel the same in every other aspect of her career. Lastly, if you understood the true power of social media, you would realize what I get upset at are not "the most trivial things." Thank you. Quote
