I was hoping this was from the one South Africa date where she sang All By Myself live, but I guess we'll have to keep waiting for a better version of that video. I really enjoy Think Twice here, and it's cool seeing her sing the Alone note the proper way rather than that cat scream she started doing after about April/May.

I looked around in YouTube for Celine videos and at the right list I saw this video of Think Twice:

Wow the most incredible video ever, her voice here so touching and breathtaking. She never sang this amazing song like that.

I wondered about some details- Does anyone know where/when she preformed?

It was "A Royal Gala - Live for Peace" recorded at the London Coliseum, UK and broadcast on May 8, 1995. It was a celebration of 50 years of V.E day and Prince Charles was the special guest.

The WMA performance is every bit as good as that as well. These two are definitely the best though. Although I prefer the arrangemennt she used to do the end of the song in the FIY era (making the song longer, and holding notes longer, and giving it a more complete ending rather than fading a track), this is far better vocally though than the performances she has done aside from the World Music Awards performances.

ne me quitte pas is more pure , less affectation, maybe an uppertone or tone higher?

there's some serious voice enhancement in my heart will do on or it seems so to my ear..

I would have much rather her sang ALL of one song rather than butchering both CFTF and SOL.

 

And I must say that her singing Think Twice on the tour was the best thing she has done since the 90's. Her reviving one of her own 90's songs, and singing it live, and in the full arrangement.... that's what I wanna see! Not the covers, not the lipping, not the second verses being cut.... this is just perfect! And the crowd is singing along, and this is in freaking Africa... there's no reason she should have cut Think Twice!! I'd LOVE to have the Africa concerts on DVD.

If I recall correctly, she also sang All By Myself that day to. I could be wrong - it could be different show, same outfit.... or different appearance of the same show. I don't exactly remember, but for some reason I'm recalling a performance of ABM from there, but it was lipped. One of only two TV shows in which Celine lipped one song and sang the other live. She's normally either all live, or all lipped when it comes to TV shows. The ironic thing is that while it may make more sense for her to lip ABM and sing FIY, in reality, on tour she did the exact opposite. Edited January 9, 2012 at 10:23 PM by Tyler1991
