I really liked and enjoyed the Aldo-era when she was everywhere and omnipresent. They should keep it like this. Now everything has become a mess without a plan. Delays after delays and no buzz or excitement for any future projects at all. Just silence. He was a really good manager with new and fresh ideas adapted to the current times, very up to date with social media and occasional treats for the fans. And even though she had nothing to promote at all, he made sure she is out there and people talk about her. Now a new album is coming up and the world doesn’t even know. Such a shame he is gone. What things were done badly etc after Aldo? Except for times when she’s been ill. Yeah that, at certain moments, could’ve been handled better (cancelling shows at short notice etc), but it’s not always that easy to do. But what else?? I mean, I seem to recall people on here praising her for everything she was doing, it seemed like she was everywhere. Or perhaps I dreamt that 😂

Haha I always loved that rooster battle segment, Aretha was like testing the goods on display in the market, first she tried Mariah and then she was like “not bad, let me see what Celine has got” lol

 

And funny how Gloriah, Carole and Shania are patiently standing behind, it’s like “do we have to deal with this vocal showcase till the end or shall we just leave the stage now?”

I'll never forget how Aretha was supposed to sing at Whitney's funeral, cancelled due to 'leg spasms' (bit(h, just sit in a chair) and then went on to perform her own show the same night. I never liked her before, but she's been dead to me ever since.

 

Divas '98 was another nice example. Carole King (who WROTE the damn song) didn't get the opportunity to sing because Ursula was screeching all over her part. It's my firm belief that this was the only reason Céline (queen of the downtrodden 😂) even engaged in a vocal battle...

 

In conclusion, Aretha needs to take several seats 😂

To me, when I watch that video --- it always seems like Aretha is desperate for someone to help her lift the darn song! And, after Mariah couldn't do it and tried to hide, it quickly became apparent that Celine was the ONLY one to help Aretha lift it.

I remember Celine saying she loves Labrinth and that her English album will include some collaborations.

So... Do you think her album will include a duet with Labrinth or even Sia?

Well according to a lot of different "reports", the screamfest totally came from Céline and was not planned. And Aretha isn't really the person to ask for "help"...lol

I think Carole King said Céline wanted to "take back" (in a good way) Aretha for stealing her lines earlier in the song..
