Has anyone tried commenting on the instagram post asking her team and Sony to release the full thing? We know of one guy on youtube that claims to have a full audience recording of the 29th but he won't share. Btw this is probably her best live album vocally.

Funny you say that. I saw the pictures it’s always fantastic to discover new old pictures. And I comment the post, mentioning we would love the get this concert on dvd. I don’t think they read the comments nor they have the ability to push Sony to release materials

Weird that this album is not on Apple Music. The only live albums that are available on Apple Music are from Live in Paris 1996 to Une Suele Fois 2013

It’s nice that they gave us some previously unreleased pictures yesterday, but c’mon… It’s a 30th anniversary. Where’s the vinyl? Video version of the show? Unreleased live tracks?

would love Oxygene from that show! Some debate it isn’t live but I’d say it is because it wouldn’t make sense to lip a song that was only performed in 3 shows. However JDDMT was confirmed lipped. For that song I prefer live over album version.

that’s why if we want anything we need to go straight to Sony. As bad as her team can be this is on Sony.

That said, this is without a single doubt the best live album of Celine's career. Nothing can top it. Her voice was in top condition, everything was so effortless and crystal clear.

Coincidently, I have been listening to ''Dion Chante Plamondon'' and ''A l'Olympia'' the past month more than any other Celine album. I have a new appreciation for both of them.

 

One thing I realised is DCP was released in between two English albums whose ONLY theme is love. Yes, some are break-up songs or about loss but still the main theme is LOVE.

 

And then you have DCP that either directly explores or acknowledges:

• Suicide
  
• Death
  
• Existential doubts / regret
  
• Social Isolation
  
• Homosexuality
  
• AIDS
  

No wonder her French stuff are far better-received.

Plamondon is our best writer. If you listen to Starmania , it is still as good as 40 years ago.

I thought the same thing. Record Store Day is November 29th and its Xmas season. They could have released the show on vinyl for record store day. I guess she makes more money performing in the middle east then 10,000 vinyl sales

Unfortunately it’s a business and Celine is one of AEGs biggest and most consistent cash cows. There’s hardly any more money left in making albums, so Sony knows that. But credit is here credit is due, Sony music tried with the “Love Again” movie to both get Celine’s music a bump and to also give her the acting role she has always said she wanted.

I agree with all that you said here. However, I think there is an extra layer with Celine in this situation. I believe Celine’s AEG management team actually cares a great deal about about her, despite the bottom line. I don’t think many companies would wait as long as they have for any other artist, without giving them the chop after x-amount of time. They waited and have been literally and figuratively right by her side since she said she was ready to emerge again.
