pat200 Posted July 12, 2014 at 06:10 PM Posted July 12, 2014 at 06:10 PM I would love to hear "Miles To Go (Before I Sleep)." Céline mentions in the LTAL recording sessions that it's a "great song for the stage" and I think it could sound absolutely amazing with the orchestra. my favorite english celine song!! it would be amazing live 2 Quote
CelinesDIVO5 Posted July 12, 2014 at 08:06 PM Posted July 12, 2014 at 08:06 PM For an uptempo song it would be fun to hear her sing Declaration of Love again. I know she has sung that one so much during the 90s but it's the kind of song that would put everyone on their feet. Not to mention that its a totally wasted opportunity to heavily use the horn section I'm the orchestra. MrTim212 Posted July 13, 2014 at 02:52 PM Posted July 13, 2014 at 02:52 PM Miles to Go (Before I sleep) is one of my all time favourites and probably favourite from LTBL. Would love to hear this in Celine. Why she has kept the same setlist for going on four years beats me. Finally to see SSDA included is a breath of fresh air. "Call the Man" "Immortality" and "Only One Road" or even "The Colour of my Love" would sound splendid with an Orchestra. Anybody else think that opening which includes "Open Arms" could be replaced with "If You Asked Me To."." used to be that I believed in something used to be that I believed in love... It's been a long time since I had that feeling... ….I could love someone, I could trust someone I said I never let nobody near my heart again, I said, I'd let nobody in…but….. Curtain Drop" If You Asked me To" http://youtu.be/KOzXdMcsCpw it's so good live! I don't know WHAT happened to this song but I would love for it to make a reappearance just like WDMHBN did after all these years. IYAMT was a big hit and yet, it's kind of forgotten about. It was even left off of the non-North American versions of "All the Way" and "My Love" while album tracks like "Seduces Me" and "River Deep" made the cut, as did singles that barely made a dent in the charts ("You & I" and "Goodbye's (The Saddest Word)"). 1 Quote je me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore

Popular Post LukeD Posted July 13, 2014 at 10:33 PM Popular Post Posted July 13, 2014 at 10:33 PM Since the show is named Celine they could have used songs that tell her story. Ce n'etait qu'un reve could open the show since it's the first song she recorded, Where does my heart beat now for being her first english release in US, then signature songs would follow, the The Colour Of My Love for being her wedding song, a couple of HER favorites could be included or sung in a medley, A New Day Has Come for the birth of her first son, then one song for her kids and family and also one cover paying tribute to her #1 musical influence. Now THAT show would stand up to the name "Celine". 21 Quote

flutefreak Posted July 14, 2014 at 02:18 AM Posted July 14, 2014 at 02:18 AM Great idea LukeD. They could also show video clips of highlights from her life/career during her costume changes. It's soooo eeek and kitschy to me. You are hereby convicted of heresy. The hanging procedure will commence tomorrow at noon. People, gather your tomatoes and rotten eggs..... Ok, enough joking around: I like Misled, but it is not her best uptempo song in my opinion. I love Real Emotion, No Living Without Loving You (a mid-tempo song), Lovin Proof, Make You Happy, Declaration Of Love and Your Light. There have been some ok -sometimes good- uptempo's after 1996, but nothing beats the ones from TCOML and FIY, in my humble opinion. 4 Quote
LukeD Posted July 14, 2014 at 11:13 AM Posted July 14, 2014 at 11:13 AM To me her best uptempo songs were recorded during the 00s. From the 90s nothing tops the Remix of Unison. 3 Quote

Like performances, appearances, awards, life achievements, it could be all encompassing with different sections of the show to highlight the different periods of her career. As much as we fans would love this, I guess showing footage of her winning awards and achievements would come off as pretentious, egocentric, 'look how important and awesome I am' kind of thing... It's ok if other people do it for her (like tv shows and appearances) as a tribute, but I guess on her own concert it would rub people the wrong way. 3 Quote http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff5/backup674/Banners/Image1.jpg

With all the covers, ballads and old-style glamour, they really should have called it 'Timeless'... 5 Quote

SuperLove4Celine Posted July 19, 2014 at 02:49 PM Posted July 19, 2014 at 02:49 PM I, too, have always viewed Celine's current show lacking in having that personable touch to her musical legacy. However, I'm not sure I would want to see a "retrospective" type show be implemented. By doing so, all new material would be forced to end of the show year after year. Furthermore, "My Heart Will Go On" would be put in the middle of the show. I'm not a fan of forcing her biggest song as the finale, but I also don't think it belongs in the middle of the set list, either. Making a show completely retrospective limits creativity and makes the show pretty predictable. So...I say remove the majority of the covers, add in "milestone songs" (i.e. "Ce n'etait qu'un reve," "Misled," "That's The Way It Is," "A New Day Has Come," "The Power Of The Dream" (every two years), etc.), but make the performances personable.
