One AC station is reporting their adds for the coming week already: WASH-FM out of Washington, DC (market rank #7)...and they've added "Loved Me Back To Life!" Full adds for AC radio don't come in until 6:00pm Eastern on Monday, so (presuming I remember - if not, pester me with a tweet! - and no one does it before me) I'll report back then with a full list of adds.

Today's radio update is in bold...

Loved Me Back To Life

Belgium Ultratip Wallonia: 1-

Belgium Ultratip Flanders: 60-

French Airplay Chart: 153-

------------------------------------------------------------------

US Mediabase Airplay Updates

Day 1 [04/09/13] :: Loved Me Back To Life - 5.829m [+/-]

Day 2 [05/09/13] :: Loved Me Back To Life - 6.313m [+0.448m]

Day 3 [06/09/13] :: Loved Me Back To Life - 6.492m [+ 0.179m]

Day 4 [07/09/13] :: Loved Me Back To Life - 6.826m [+ 0.334m]

Day 5 [08/09/13] :: Loved Me Back To Life - 7.111m [+ 0.285m]

Day 6 [09/09/13] :: * will be sent to AC radio *

Tomorrow, the song is officially sent to AC radio! Now don't be surprised if this doesn't mean anything to the updates - add dates mean very little these days, as radios can play songs whenver they want, instead of having to wait for labels to send them songs [the joys of the internet and leaks].

Céline Dion, music's greatest ever singer, the biggest-selling Canadian artist of all-time and most successful female live act ever - what's not to love?

Thank you Wayne!

So guys, what's your prediction for next week's BB HOT 100?

I'll go with #82

She'll almost certainly debut on the Bubbling Under due to the way the "rolling effect" works on US airplay - she will lose roughly 60% of her airplay just before the Hot 100 cut off date for airplay next week. If she'd have staggered the release of the single by another day, it would've strengthened her chances of a debut inside the Hot 100.

And to play the song or not now depends on the DJS right? As Celine doesn't have any radio deal with top stations anymore right?

So now the future of LMBTL depends on the DJS. T_T

I'd say she'd debut in the 'Bubbling Under' chart too. The song's iTunes and airplay aren't that great yet.

Not really the DJs. It's up to the station Program Directors who decide what to play or not. (Interesting fact - if a DJ plays a song that wasn't approved by the PD they can get fired, crazy).

Side note - I don't think all those emails sent by fans to DJs were even taken into consideration. Probably the DJs just told their PDs that there is some demand for LMBTL. Hope they did and that PDs will get the song on rotation.

As a fan it's so sad seeing this great song underperform. I don't think Celine will have a better chance of a hit single than now (maybe the Ne-Yo duet..) I don't understand how radios don't play the song, I don't get it. It's current, is modern and Celine sounds perfect, so what's the problem? And the worst is that songwrites and producers want to have hit songs, why should they even bother sending good songs to Celine when they know for sure radios won't play them? It will be a real problem for Celine's career from now on..

Anyway, I hope that this week things will improve, but I honestly doubt it

Didn't make the uk top 100 very sad

The top 100 isn't out yet, so we don't know that.

We only know that it didn't make the top 75, which HAS been released.

Still, I think she will fail to make the top 100 - probably #105 or something.

Ryan seacrest seemed excited about the 30 second clip of Loved Me Back To Life.....

He is even playing the song on his radio show now that its released?

His radio has great power over the music industry.

Whilst it is up to the program directors ultimately what a station's content is, if a DJ wants to play a song then they can - they will not get fired, unless its on some small-time local station.

Ultimately, the DJ's on the big stations that will drive the airplay right up [such as Z100 in NYC] are huge stars.

The song is NOT underperforming.

It isn't receiving any airplay whatsoever anywhere outside of the US, she hasn't performed the song on any television show other than once on an 11:30pm show, watched by 2 million people.

I told you guys before the song was released not to get your hopes up - she isn't a singles artist, and never has been, yet you persist on holding her to a higher commercial standard than she's capable of meeting these days.

Take comfort in the likelihood that she will climb back into the top 40 this week after performing on Ellen.

I got your point.

I also think if people have a chance to listen to LMBTL they will like it. ^_^

Maybe Sony can make more radio deals with some top stations (like Z100) to get the song played. :-D

The problem now is that general public don't even know that she has just released a single. :cry:

And in iTunes the song doesn't come up in the highlights so it is just faded away out of sight. :wtf:

But anyway, I still have hope. I will give it a time. I will think positively. :wub:

It is just 5-6 days for LMBTL. I will wait for it to grow. :clap:

Do you know how much it costs to have a one-to-three day radio deal with a company as big as Clear Channel?

We're talking tens of thousands of dollars, I bet.

Ultimately it comes down to this - radio just doesn't like Celine Dion's brand of music, regardless of how much it has changed.

The AC format is showing her some love, which is nice to see. Hopefully, she will receive some more later this week after the adds dates - but I'm not holding my breath.

Well, Celine never had a radio deal for LMBTL to start with.

OK. Thank you so much for your comment. I will be looking forward to see more as well.

Ultimately, if general public like it. I'm satisfied, no matter what the position of the song is. :)

Not from what I've heard. I know some people here think she had a one-day radio deal with AC stations but this is unlikely since AC doesn't do much for iTunes sales. Do you really think Sony would have paid AC stations tens of thousands of dollars when they perfectly know that wouldn't make a difference in the digital sales anyway?

I'm not fussed she isn't making an impact on the UK charts at the moment. How can she be expected to with just ONE airing of the song on radio?

When Celine is here in October / November that's when I'll be looking to the charts to see how her promotion is impacting the song on the charts, until then I can only pray Sony manage to get the song onto radio.

That's great to know -- I didn't realize view counts counted towards the charts! We all need to watch and comment and post the link! We should post it on Ellen's site next week for people to click it! And tell folks to buy it on iTunes! This song is TOO FABULOUS TO LET IT SLIP BY!!!

I'm quite surprised the youtube video only has 200K yet it's been 5 days.... it was all over blog sites on the first couple of days. Strange.

I agree Shaun. UK is a tough market. Better that the song is available early instead of the shambles with Taking Chances release a week late, cd cancelled etc etc. I'm still convinced it will be top 20 in UK.

Actually, it makes perfect sense and logical. Even Sony has to know that Top 40 radio will not play Celine songs. So they're smart to have made a deal with AC stations after all AC is her core base now. If one thinks of it, it's obvious the plan is to win over the AC stations and then hopefully Top 40 stations may follow too. I'm not too confident this will happen. And, yes, there was a deal.
