I think this is another case of rene giving celine songs and not telling her theyre covers, eg if you asked me to (which as the time upset patti la belle). I mean I dont think celine would do it intentionally, she thanks janice ian for at seventeen, or at least acknowledges her in vegas. But soooooo many times celine will say I am so glad this song was written for me etc and sometimes the song was written for someone else. Im sure celine thinks breakaway is new, im sure she thought taking chances was new, I dont think rene tells her. Im sure daniel will get a lot of heat on here for saying what he said. But in all honesty if you were going through the worst time of your life, wrote and recorded a song about it, and your basically just a small time singer, and then sony, rene, and celine (musical juggernauts) come in, sing your song and didnt even acknowledge it was yours to start with I think we would be a little angry too, if we forget for a moment were celine fans, or better yet imagine it was mariah who did it with a less known celine song, say she took "I love you goodbye" had a hit with it but never once mentioned celine, we would be a little bitter too. 3 Quote

Samantha Ronson poster a video of the Katie interview but I don't see where she says it's her song or she wrote it? Think this should be a wake up call to drop the song and change the album title! Credit stealing is when a singer changes few words and mentions in albums liner notes as a songs main writer or co writer. So If Celine said: "I wrote this song!" and if she mentioned herself in albums or singles liner notes as writer THEN she would be stealing. But she didn't mention who wrote it, nor did she mention that she wrote it and she didn't called her "own" song. She simply enjoyed a good song. If she doesn't mention you when she releases it as a single or when she releases it in album then ask for veto. She MUST put you in the liner notes!" I have no idea where the hell this Daniel Merriweather got that Céline said she wrote the song, or that the song was written for her. He's SO wrong, and someone needs to tell him! On the other hand, I'm not happy about this but I hope this serves as a lesson to Céline and René: their interest in always picking songs from others has maybe gone too far already Hope they learn to have ORIGINAL material to start the promotion of an album instead.
