Are you serious? Does everybody not understand the concept of the game? I don't like those songs. It's not a crime. Move on!

 

There were a bunch from the English catalogue that I liked which were voted off too early. Sure I complained but c'mon that is the point of the game is for people to choose off songs they think are not worthy of survival. Just because a song is popular, wins clout with fans, or is produced by a certain producer doesn't mean that everyone has to like it.

 

So when I play the game should I choose songs that everyone will like? No. Because its my list!

 

Also yes I did say that there were songs I don't remember the titles of because I haven't listened to some of Celine's french music in years, however, I chose 13 songs that I did remember and knew I didn't like or were too weak. The others songs I liked a lot or I don't remember.

 

I am not trying attack anyone. Sorry if I did. I just think its wrong that I am getting attacked or singled out because my list contained songs that were very popular amongst most of the fanbase. Also because they were produced or written from some producer. It's just a game and that's how I am playing it.

Yea discussion is apart of the game true that and I don't have a problem with that. Tho when someone asks somebody why a song was put on their list like it shouldn't be on there then that would make a person feel bad.

LOL! Actually, 'Celine Dion' is ok, but vocally and production-wise 'These Are Special Times' is the gem of her Anglophone career! And I'm not even religious!

I think this will be the toughest round since I feel like her best French work has come from this era, hands down; even though she does have some pre-Sony gems. I love her English career too. It's what made me a fan, of course. But there's something poetic about the French language. Given this is where her roots are & that her French albums/performances seem to outshine their English counter-parts, even if only slightly: I feel like she's more comfortable and at home in French. Part of me wonders if it will all come down songs from S'il Suffisait D'Aimer, D'eux, or D'elles. I love other albums she's done but those are my favorites and the most well-rounded (very few songs I'll skip if any). I think they're quite a few people's faves as well.

 

At any rate, my vote for this week (and it wasn't easy.....I hate to see what the final rounds will be like..... ):

1) Ziggy

2) I Believe In You (great song but it's not entirely in French and not as strong as some of the others)

3) Medley Starmania (a' l'olympia)

4) Lolita

5) Je Ne Suis Pa Celle

6) Jai Besoin d'un Chum

7) A' Paris

9) D'abord, C'est Quoi L'amour

10) La Memoire d'Abraham

11) La Religieuse

12) Les Cloches Du Hameau (Again, love this song and it's one of my faves on this album. But in keeping with my English votes, I feel like her best song isn't/shouldn't be a Christmas one)

I know. Again, it's one of those songs I like but I feel like there are other's that are stronger. At times, the song does get old. Idk if it's because she performs it so much or what...... Edit: I like pretty much every song on the list (with a few exceptions) so it's hard. Some I had to re-listen to just to refresh my memory. I didn't want to vote in vain! I remember I first had mixed feelings towards this song but later it struck me it's so cool and quite unusual for Celine.

PrimaDonna, I don't think anyone meant to make you feel singled out or attacked . .i think most of the conversation in this thread comes from a pretty good natured place. I know I've expressed mock-horror at others' choices during the English round . .but it was always that -- *mock* horror. We all know that everyone has different tastes -- but we love some songs so much we just have to *gasp* (all in good fun) when someone votes a song we love. To me, this sort of gentle teasing is part of the fun of the game.

 

But everyone should feel comfortable here - and the great thing about this game is seeing the different songs fans like and dislike.

'Un Garcon Pas Comme Les Autres (Ziggy)' is a well-written song, but the melody is repeatitive. Vocally, it's one her easiest songs to sing, there's no real climax. Lisa, if you have the picture in your computer, click the More Reply Options button on the lower right hand corner of your posting window. Then on the bottom left you'll see the Attach Files option. Click Browse, then select the pic you want to attach. Hit Attach This File, and when it's done, you can click the Add To Post link.

 

Another option when you have huge pics is to upload them to an image hosting site, and then copy the picture link directly to your reply/posting window, and it will automatically show you the pic in your post.
