The intro and the outro is the best thing in the setlist :wub:

 

I agree my favorite French song! Should replace NMQP in Vegas it would sound great with the orchestra! :wub:

It was by far the best show ever for me!!!

The tracklist is seriously amazing!

 

She was full energy!

 

With her TC tour she also performed TLDH the first night, but skipped it the second.

So we will see what she does tonight!!

 

What i remember of Immensite is that she missed some lyrics, but hey how many times did she sang that?

So I'm bit afraid she will skip this but who knows!

I agree for A17, i was so hoping for Somebody Loves Somebody, that would be a much better choice, in a stadion full of fans!! Imagine we all sing eeey eeey eeeey!!!! Hahaha

 

For the first part of MHWGO she was to late on stage hahaha, she blamed her dress hahaha

 

It's a shame they didn't record this show, because it's an amazing setlist!!!

(I'm so happy to play mister wise guy; now adding some new information to this forum, instead of reading your stuff :) )

 

In short: Although she looked beautiful, sang beautifully and the setlist was wonderful, the concert was quite a mess. Like this was a general repetition.

3/4 of the (live) songs the monitor/ volume/ ear input was not good. She was constantly asking for some more of less during the singing of the first verse, like during LMBTL. This seemed to have influenced her focus during the performances. Sometimes, like while singing LMBTL, she wasn't 'into' the lyrics, into the song (like when rehearsing); while technically she sang f****** full and clearly. She was also messing with the earpiece almost all the time. During some songs she looked like an alien with cables popped out of her head, cause she didn't put the wires well behind her hair.

Then, she forgot her lyrics many times; i.e. during Immensite, RDMH. The worse part was, that she didn't show up at all during the first verse of MHWGO. This was really awkward; the tape with the instrumentals and her vocals were rolling like she was already on stage. Apparently, her dress wasn't on yet (the Whitney grammy salute dress). So, she turned up much to late, lipping herself confidently back on stage. I laughed my but off; which was idiotic in itself, cause some people thought it was part of the show lol.

 

As with regards to the setlist, singing Immensite, TLDH was heaven. Following Immensite up by QPVSA is truly genius. Really. I must say however that WHMHBN came in a bit strangely. The flow of the song didn't perfectly fit IMO. It was like she was slowing down to soon. Also: the LMBTL-album set seemed incongruent; she was rather singing some songs after one another.

 

The end of the concert: you know, with PQTME as the initial encore was really well received, there was a nice flow in the audience, but after all the mistakes it felt a bit open ended. So, to my interpretation, her coming back on stage to sing part of JNVOP as true encore seemed a bit like an additional trick to compensate for the loose ends. If so, she's unbelievably professional. Besides, these verses were truly heavenly sung. God, she's an unparalleled singer.

great concert. She didn't sound as nasal as during the taking chances concerts and it wasn't as rushed. Good job!

I love that it's a long concert... I hate that she's still lip-syching old songs... blah!

 

they should have skipped WDMHBN, TPOL and keep the Plamondon medley and it would have been the perfect setlist for a french concert dvd! well deserved by the francophone world!

 

 

 

Still, it's her first french tour since the SISDA era. This means the SA era deserves a big place in her career, as big as SISDA or D'EUX!

I'm gonna review the show, song by song:

 

1- Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas: wow, amazing, her voice is so crystal clear, sounded just like the album version!

 

2- Dans Un Autre Monde: good, good stuff! her voice is so powerful, didn't go nasal during the choruses, I'm amazed, and her head notes were pitch perfect unlike the Quebec concert! perfect ending, with a run displaying 2 full octaves :o

 

3- Parler A Mon Pere: Definitely the BEST live version so far. She always struggles with this song because she has to constantly go back and forth from her head to her chest voice. But she managed it a lot better than on the tv special and the Quebec concert. 3rd time she sings it live so far. First time I actually enjoyed it without suffering for her! I'm so happy we finally got a good live version of this song that has become one of her biggest hits in her french career :P Can you guys see the similarities with "Tout L'or Des Hommes"? same song structure... same songwriter ;)

 

4- IACBTMN: nice playback, very emotional :wtf: (BTW, she actually sounded more nasal in the pre-recorded tracks that in the actual live songs)

 

5- TPOL: quit it Celine!!! quit it!!!

 

6- On Ne Change Pas: also a lot better than the Quebec version! she sounds really relaxed. Her voice is less strained. The adlibs were heavenly

 

7- Destin: also better than during the TCWT and the Quebec concert, where she struggled with the higher sections. She sounds a lot less strained now. Could be a bootleg from 1999! Holy Dion, she sounds so young!

 

8- Immensite: first time she sang this song live.. yeah she forgot the words, but her voice sounded AMAZING! It's one of the best songs from "D'elles", finally some justice to it! Don't forget it was a #6 hit in Belgium! And the high note was so powerful!!!

 

9- Qui Peut Vivre Sans Amour?: BEST live version of this song again!! I'm so glad she's still performing it live. One of the best songs on SA, and it's great for the stage! Nice E5!!! A bit forced at the beginning but she nailed it!

 

10- Je Crois Toi: drawn to heaven once again with this song. Her breathy voice is that of an angel. Again, this could have been taken right from the SISDA/LTAL tour! I can't believe I'm listening to this in 2013. Nice interlude Elise!!

 

12- La Mer Et L'enfant: beautiful. as good as the album version. also best live version of this song! no nasality at all. especially the low notes, they sounded perfect.

 

13- Celle Qui M'A Tout Appris: oh she did it again! best live version of this song! FLAWLESS! I wish we had a professional recording of this concert! I can tell she was well rested. Those low notes sounded so full and clear. she's always had problems with them and sounded nasal, nothing of that this time! This is a beautiful song... Therese must be so proud. She's lucky to still have her around. I wonder if she was at the concert!

 

14- Where Does My Heart Beat Now: :hmm: hmmm. Suddenly she doesn't sound as lively :-D Again, more nasal than the live songs! The last note was good though!

 

15- Terre: this song is ace!!! sounded even better than Quebec once again! I'm flying back to 1998/1999! She just cracked on that F5... she doesn't seem to have the easy super high notes like during the TCWT, but the rest of her register sounds fuller and more powerful!

 

16- Tout L'Or Des Hommes: best live version ever of this song! great song, great to hear it again!

 

17- Je Sais Pas: great version. A bit sad she's not belting during the instrumental. You can tell she was struggling with those E5s at the end! She hasn't belted high notes in a long time and probably she's not warming up that part of her register!

 

18- Loved Me Back To Life: a little disappointed that they lowered it. she had some pitch problems as well. Not as epic as it should have been. U don't get goosebumps unless it's in the original key.

 

19- Water And A Flame: first time she performs this in a big stage. And let me tell you, it works!!!! I'm smelling a new classic Celine song. It looks like she loves the song as much as we do! great live version!!! I love the way her voice seems to soar during the choruses. And how she managed to balance her "bedroom voice".

 

20- At Seventeen: great live version of this song. maybe better than the album version. Her voice sounds so young here.

 

21- S'il Suffisait D'aimer: I loved how she toned down her nasality, you can really tell she's been training her voice with a teacher. Just speechless. beautiful.

 

22- All By Myself: haha she messed up and started again! Fun moment. Props for the only classic ballad that she still sings live ... well, almost live! Great ending!!

 

23- J'Irai Ou Tu Iras: GREAT version!!! And she belted 3 G5s! She can still do it!!!! <3

 

24- Love Can Move Mountains: Long time no see! :P Nice F5s! And she can still hit her A5! :o It's the only reason I'm happy she still performs this song!

 

25- River Deep Mountain High: hahaha can't believe she messed up with the lyrics! She's struggling with those D5s in the choruses but she can still sing this song! was that a superhigh Bb5 in the end? :w00t:

 

26- My Heart Will Go On: I won't bother reviewing this song

 

27- Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore: it was fine. she messed up in the end.

 

28- Le Miracle: "du reve au miracle..." :giggle: this song is not a good encore, but I must admit it was a beautiful rendition. Possibly the best live version of this song so far! I'm delighted about her low notes, they don't sound nasal as usual! she's really trying this time!

 

29- Je Ne Vous Oublie Pas: nice surprise for all the fans there! very good idea! I wonder if she improvised it. The crowd was going mad!!!! And her voice sounded heavenly :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub: :wub:

 

 

 

Overall, in the Quebec concert she'd had lots of pitch problems, maybe because she could hear herself well, now she made up for that! she sounded better than ever. I really missed the Plamondon Medley and JNPBD!!

Of course not! ABM has always been live except for the big note! that's why the ending always sounds different! And the first part of the song is easy for Celine!

She really is one of the best live performers of our time. I've seen her many times since 1995, but she is still as incredible as ever. Very much on ease on stage and singing like no other. Many standing ovations. Just love her so much!!!!

 

Je ne vous oublie pas (A Cappella): Love this song, Great way to open the show!

 

Dans un autre monde: One of my favorites. LOVE it!!!!!!

 

Parler a mon père: My favorite track of the latest French album.

 

It's all coming back to me now: Maybe my all time favorite Celine song. LOVE!

 

The power of love: The audience went wild on this one.

 

On ne change pas: Another favorite of mine. LOVE!

 

Destin: Again another favorite. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

 

Immensité: Pleasantly surprised as I don't think I"ve heard this one live before.

 

Qui peut vivre sans amour: A favorite of my husband. Had it playing several times on our way to the concert.

 

Je crois toi: She disappeared at the end of the song, letting one of her backing singers have a magical solo moment.

 

La mer et l'enfant: Celine returned in a new ensemble. With video footage of her children at the beach.

 

Celle qui m'a tout appris: Another song from her latest French album. Beautiful sung.

 

Where Does My Heart Beat Now: Loved to hear this one again. A favorite of mine.

 

Terre: A favorite of my husband. Guess the first time we've heard this one live.

 

Tout l'or des hommes: Think it's the first time I've seen this live. LOVE!

 

Je sais pas: One of my all time favorite songs by Celine. LOVE!!!! At the end Celine let her musicians shine and crept away to have a costume change.

 

Loved me back to life: Was waiting for this one and I loved it! Obviously the audience didn't really know this song.

 

Water and a flame: Another song the audience wasn't familiar with. But we loved it!!!!! I was hoping she did some songs of her new album, so I was very pleased!!!

 

At seventeen: Beautiful.

 

S'il suffisait d'aimer: The audience ate this one up.

 

All By Myself: Another highlight. Standing ovation. Vocally amazing. Started too early, so she sang the first line twice.

 

J'irai où tu iras: Pure rock 'n roll.

 

Love can move mountains: Obviously a favorite of Celine herself.

 

River Deep Mountain High: She started to early, but corrected herself by waiting to sing the second line. It was goodbye after this one.

 

My heart will go on: First encore (in another ensemble). Audience went crazy!

 

Pour que tu m'aimes encore: A gem in her body of work. Just knew this one would be included in the encore.

 

Le Miracle: This one has really grown on me. Great to hear it live. (The only song my husband didn't like at all.)

 

Je ne vous oublie pas (A Cappella): Celine and her musicians had left, but everybody kept waiting for more. So Celine returned again and gave us a last taste of her beautiful voice.

 

Almost two hours of almost 30 songs: A+mazing!!!!! She sang most of my favorite songs. The only song I would also have liked is Think Twice as it is one of her best known songs in Europe. Maybe instead of Love Can Move Mountains. All in all we thought it was one of her best concerts ever! Not so overproduced like some of her past shows. Just Celine with her band, no special stage, making mistakes, being human. BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh guys i had such a amazing time! best concert like ever! She was soooo good last night.. and her band, don't forget the band, with all those musicians. A big thumbs up for them too. I love loved the show. Only song i heard too often was mhwgo, which was not live anyway and Loved me back to life which sounded a bit dull compared with all the other live versions we have seen!

 

I filmed too, but I don't have such amazing hd cameras as many in here had..

clearly from the youtube video it's mego and also when she forgot the lyrics during RDMH, she immediately yells to Michel over to the side of the stage. During the musical break, she talks to her background saying "I dunno, I forgot the words!"
