Barbra recently performed at the Grammy's...the night before she was honored with the MusiCares award. I'm pretty sure Barbra will be there. She's gotton over her fear of performing live.

Yes. It was just officially announced today that Barbra will perform at this years Oscars!! They said it will be her first time performing there since 1977. It looks like she's getting back into the swing of things, with her new movie and now this performance. I'm happy for her. It looks like she's finally found her confidence again!

 

I hope that we will hear news of Celine performing at this years awards. It would be really cool if she was involved in the Bond tribute. Celine would get her chance to meet adele!

Personally I don't see what the big deal is that Celine is singing "Rolling in the Deep" in Vegas. Personally I think it was a smart move. It is an extremely popular song, that almost everyone knows and enjoys and Celine does a fantastic job singing it. She has given it her own style and has so much fun singing it, you can see that when she performs it, and the audience loves it. When I went the show earlier this month with my sister and best friend, my sister (who is not a big Celine fan) was so surprised she sang it and said she didn't think Celine would sing a popular song like this and sing it as well as she did. So yes while it is a cover, and yes it is not as emotionally strong as Adele's version, it has become its own song in a way and is quite popular at her Vegas shows and clearly is one of Celine's favorites to sing. So I've just seen that Barbra and Adele are definitely singing at the Oscars.....If I was Celine I think I'd die at that news so if she isn't performing, surely she'll want to go and be in the audience just to see them! After all she is 'Adele's biggest fan' and Barbra is her idol. ;)

Why?? The only reason people here are saying 'Celine should perform at the Oscars' is because she currently does a Bond medley in her Vegas show! I'm sorry, but covering other people's Bond songs every night does not suddenly make her a Bond theme singer! When Celine has an original Bond song of her own, then she will be much more likely to be part of such an event. :)

Celine must record more brand-new material!!! We need more original songs by Celine Dion and not another album full of covers.

If she loves the Bond songs she needs to try to sing the next 007 soundtrack! If she loves Adele she must record a duet with her and not only sing Adele's hits... :hmm:

It was not an official Bond theme song. It just happened to be on the soundtrack for "Licence to Kill", I think it may have been used in the credits of the film? The actual theme song for this movie was "Licence to Kill" by Gladys Knight. :)

I wasnt that impressed by Adele... Am I the only one? Her voice wasnt strong and it sounded a bit off at points...

Does anyone else think Celine might add Skyfall to her JBond medley? Would be nice!!!

 

Adele's voice was a little off, but still good performance..Live!

Yeah Adele was a little off... you could tell she was very nervous. But she won her Oscar!

 

Barbra was good but I wonder what she did to her face? Is that all botox or facelift? :giggle:

 

And Jennifer Hudson's performance was amazing!

She's 6 years older than Barbra but she has far more power and clarity in her voice!

cause Barbra didn't have any training at all!! and still doesn't and i don't think she particularly rest her voice or like keep her voice that much

where as i beleive Shirley has training and knows how to keep her voice!!
