Has anyone thought of the possibility it may be for a part about us, the fans? She always says she doesn't need to make music anymore, because she has her family. That she doesn't need the love of the public, and that she only keeps singing because she wants to. And maybe at the end she realises she still needs the love of the fans, even though she has everything she ever dreamed of (=a family)

 

This is just one interpretation and I don't mean to say this is what the song is about, but I think the song can be interpreted in this way too. And when you see the performance in the Sans Attendre special, at the 'au secours, au secours, je besoin de ton amour' she looks right in the camera..

Now that you put into words yes! A song can have many meanings and I did felt that when she sang it live...the whole song with just the piano. I find it funny that many fans are complaining about the song, because instinctively, it was my favorite song from Sans Attendre and still is. It sounds like it can be the love theme to a big movie!

I do !!! It makes me so uncomfortable that I can barely listen to the song. Her rendition on Sans Attendre TV Special is much better. I can't believe not a single French-speaking person could tell her it's not nice to hear... It's not attractive, it's not emotional either... :confused: :shrug: It ruins the song in my opinion, and in the end I skip it all the time, it's a shame. I thought it would be one of my favorites...

her lower register in general can get quite croaky. but i think in this instance she was imitating the writer, jeanne pierre ferland

i think it's fine. the song's more about emotion than purity/beauty of voice

the croaky parts almost sound spoken rather than sung. it's interesting because celine explores a lot of new and different textures with this album

This song is superrrrrrrrb...I don't know why some people hate it :huh:

I'm learning French and this was the first song that I could understand completely and every single word went to my heart and soul directly...

and I could relate to this song very much , every sentence was like my story....I used to ignore love and said:" i don't need love" but at the end i realized that it's not true and life without love is like hell!

Is there anyone who has figured out the chords to this song? I want to play it on the piano and I tried but I'm not that great in figuring out the chords, and there's still nothing on the internet.

THIS one is the new "L'amour existe encore" and not "Que Toi Au Monde". I think the first "Non" with those chords does remind me of the first "Quand" ;)

 

However, and don't hate me, I don't like the album version. There's something really disturbing about her voice. She sounds as if she had nodules and it does hurt my ears a bit.

 

Luckily we have this live version where she sounds 200% better!!! Amazing song!

I agree that this live version is spectacular. One of Celine's best live performances of the past decade, in my opinion. But I also think the album version is lovely. I think what she was doing with her voice was purposeful -- sounded quintessential French to me, emulating greats like Edith Piaf.

As time goes by, this is becoming my favorite Céline song. Funny, isn't it? I really love it. I'll never forget hearing it the first time on the TV special...though short, it was very haunting.

I think this live version is the best. The piano and Celine's voice gives to this song a plus...maybe because it's kinda unplugged or something acoustic.

She should do it now, she has the material for an unplugged album, songs like this really really worth it :)

I love you and Because you loved me, boring songs?! No way.The 2 are great songs and 2 of her best songs ever.

Actually, I find BYLM to be boring. So boring that I skip it or change the station when it comes on. It's a snooze-fest for me.

This song must be a single.Even though I am not really understand French.But the lyrics is quite simple,I still be able to understand. It is so toucheness.Classic,simple and Celine style.My fav from Sans Attendre along with Qui peut vivre sans amour :) Hopefully they will release je n'ai pas besoin d'amour as a single a week before having concert in Bercy . This will make her another top 100 entry on the French single chart :)

And I found that it is quite over for rouge fm,lol.They even played it for 3 times a day.I rather they play Loved me back to life more and more . haha.After Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour has confirmed as a single only they should play it more.This is my opinion though

Actually this is the only song from the album that she performs better live than the actual album version!

 

I wasn't thrilled by it when the album came out, I thought her vocals weren't stellar, but I can understand how it can become a NEW Céline classic. There is one important reason: she loves the song!

istill remember that when the teasers of all songs from SA announced,the best teaser is Je n'ai pas besoin d'amour,but after the whole song reveal....erm...haha,feeling weird.The intro of the song is not that nice as i expect...After listening to it few more times,it is a good song though.Les petitis pieds de Lea is also one of the best track among them.It is magnificent .

This should be the next single from Sans Attendre. If only there was an English adaptation too for Loved Me Back To Life.
