Yes. He recorded TONS of music to release over time, so that his kids would be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

 

Céline might be holding things in the vault for the same reasons. I know everyone is up in arms about Sony holding on to unreleased material, but it’s not strictly up to them. Céline probably has veto rights and would have to OK any such releases, reissues, box sets, etc.

Take Madonna, for instance. The recently released #1s compilation is part of a comprehensive, multi-year catalog development plan, and it’s the first time she has agreed to one (and it took a lot of money from her label to get there).

It’s kind of odd that her socials now are more active then ever and a bit more personal but she no longer posts for birthdays, or anniversary’s of of Rene etc.
