Can anyone who attended the taping confirm whether songs were shortened during taping or was it post production?

Just watched the whole special and I thought it was amazing. I defitinely was not expecting so many live songs and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the hits medley, since I usually don't like Celine singing with other people her songs. Really wish she sang a medley like that at all her shows, so much energy and her most beautiful songs. I hope one day Celine records "Milles Apres Milles", that performance moved me deeply.

I think this is one of the best live tvshows I have seen from her in a very long time! She is completely herself, she is funny, she sings with emotion, the bond with her mum, the medley with the Star academy candidates. :-)

With this special, it's now very evident René is slowly "stepping out" of the spotlights and is giving Céline more "control".

You hardly hear him talk lately, during interviews or other (TV) appearances. And normally he's always *there* in her TV specials, but he was almost invisible during this one. Wouldn't surprise me if they will appoint a new manager in the next year (or two)..

Ok at the end of the commercial, the end of the Christmas commercial, if this is the one your referring too, she falls to her knees and says "it's too much"

 

When she stands up and says, I wake up the family that is sleeping and the wish of the kids is to see santa clause and there they see me.."she says with that cute alluring look "Am I the present" Then Gregory Charles says, "The father was happy" hahahhaah...It was cute..( But Julie is talking over her in the beginning, not sure there) There maybe someone else here that can translate word for word....

 

Or at the end of the commercial they had shown with Jean-Pierre Ferland, she says, "Somebody should've stopped me" as she said, Rene always told me to say what I have to say, when the moment is there. (She was plugging her own show)

 

There was so much cut from this special... Like I've said before, there can easily be 5 hours of Celine,

 

During every interview, it actually took around 20-30 min, they only showed 5-10 minutes,

 

The interview with Celine's mom, was cute..But what they didn't show was, a lenghty conversation about how Celine just buys too much for her...She says, It's not normal she buys me to much, I say I want or like something and she gets it, Celine says, it is perfectly normal, knowing from where we came from, it makes me happy to buy for you...lol this went on for a few minutes...or more

 

The part of when popa was jumping on the antique bed, well after that segment was finished Julie knealt before Celine and asked her if she was mad or upset, and Celine is saying ohhh no, no, not at all..its ok...Because what they didn't show you or cut out was the true look of horror on Celine's face when she was watching the video...ohhh my,..

 

When Gregory Charles was on stage, that took an additional 10 min to get him wrapped up, he just continued talking and talking and talking...Blah, Blah, Blah...lol..

 

They edited that show so much..There were so many candid moments that should've been shown, and I mean, just Celine and the way she talks openly or her mannerisms, the fun, she was having spontaneous fun, the unedited Celine, the laughing, the crying...That's what was truly a gift that night...Sweet...

I thought it was interesting the songs with the Star Academie contestants they rolled out were the "French classics" in much the same way the "English classics" are rolled out on every English TV show appearance.

 

We got J'irai ou tu iras, On Ne Change Pas, Destin, Dans un autre monde, L'amour Existe Encore and Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore. Literally nothing from the past 10 years.

 

Time to just accept that they don't choose the same songs time and time to annoy people, simply because they are fantastic songs?
