Celine Fan 77 Posted June 29, 2012 at 07:37 AM Posted June 29, 2012 at 07:37 AM Even tough I had watched Bicentennial Man and Stuart Little 2 movies at the cinema when I was a kid (I have to tell you I was stunned by THAT voice), I didn't really start following Celine's career until mid 2009, a day after I watched Titanic. I always respected so much the voice behind My Heart Will Go On and considered it one of the greatest of all time. MistaChanel Posted June 29, 2012 at 08:49 AM Posted June 29, 2012 at 08:49 AM the first song that draw my attention to Céline was 'My Heart Will Go On'... Afterwards, I always like a song here and there, such as 'A New Day Has Come', 'I'm Alive', 'Rien N'est Vraiment Fini', but I really started to become a fan and buy all of her stuff in 2007... I ♥ Taking Chances so much and the dvd preview was sooo amazing! Thx Godness, the flame of passion was kindled! Quote RIVER DEEP, MOUNTAIN HIGH - OH HOW I LOVE YOU BABY!
carmGel55 Posted June 29, 2012 at 10:10 AM Posted June 29, 2012 at 10:10 AM Beauty and the beast. I remember so well when i first watched it with my youngest brother in BETAMAX. I was 7 yrs old back then. I always remember the feeling i had, i was so tantalized with the voice but i did'nt it was celine and i didn't bother to know since i was so young back then. Until the heyday of titanic, i was so happy to know that the person who sung the BATB and MHWGO is just one person! On that day forward, i fell in love with her and swore to collect all her albums, i have most of it, but yet to complete! Quote

Mary17 Posted June 29, 2012 at 11:24 AM Posted June 29, 2012 at 11:24 AM It was in 1999, I saw Celine on Tv, with the song Tell him, this video transmitted many times, especially on the weekends Quote
Yangedd Posted June 29, 2012 at 11:38 AM Author Posted June 29, 2012 at 11:38 AM The second song that drew me in was of course "Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore". I remember buying "Duex" and falling in love with it back in 1997. I really loved it and then I discovered the live version on "Live A Paris" CD and I listened to that version day in and day out. Still love it to this day. Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!

Reading posts of people saying that they first heard of Céline thanks to "That's the Way It Is" or any of the tracks from "A New Day Has Come" or "Taking Chances" is making me feel old! I still have my first Céline item that my grandparents bought for me one day when we went to the local shopping mall. I was 9 and in love with the song "If You Asked Me To." Still one of my favourite Céline tracks. http://i48.tinypic.com/1sdvyr.jpg Quote je me changerai en or pour que tu m'aimes encore

PuraVida Posted July 11, 2012 at 11:26 AM Posted July 11, 2012 at 11:26 AM I think it was All by Myself, or perhaps Power of Love. I remember I Want You to Need Me, I Love You, and Your Light were very heavy influences on my being a fan early on. It was definitely those songs. Also, Ave Maria! The rest is history. Quote
Samantha-Jayne Posted July 11, 2012 at 04:15 PM Posted July 11, 2012 at 04:15 PM for me it was the first time I heard the power of love on the radio. dorfus Posted August 6, 2012 at 10:19 AM Posted August 6, 2012 at 10:19 AM Great stories! I remember watching the "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" video on Top of the Pops back in 1996 at the age of 9, and fell in love with Celine straight away. Every Thursday/Friday evening (or whenever it was on TV), I would be glued to the TV set hoping that she'd be on again. And whenever she was, I would shush my parents and brother, so I could enjoy the video and her voice. My Dad eventually went out and bought me her Falling Into You album. I believe he regrets having done that now - I'm practically obsessed with the woman Quote 6 May 2008 - London, England / 15 May 2019 - Las Vegas, USA / 3 June 2023 - Nicosia, Cyprus
artekoublier Posted August 10, 2012 at 10:50 AM Posted August 10, 2012 at 10:50 AM I remember hearing Beauty and the Beat first before anything else as we has a copy of the movie. But it wasn't until BYLM and TT especially one of the performances of TT on TOTP where she's on a bridge or something. It wasn't live but it was a good performance. I remember nicknaming her "the woman that hols her stomach" because whenever I saw her on the tv after Beaty and the Beast she held her stomach when she sang. After that it was Auntie Céline...because it was her voice that got me interested in singing and in French, spoken and sung. So probably since about 1990 - ish being about 7-8 years old. Loving all the rest of the stories too Quote
