Yangedd Posted June 28, 2012 at 12:19 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 12:19 PM Do you remember the song that brought you to the attention of Celine? I didn't even hear of Celine until 1994 when Irish Radio was playing "Think Twice" a lot. I remember recording it onto a tape and listening to it over and over again. I then discovered that my friend's Dad was a fan and that he had a copy of the "The Colour Of My Love" album on cassette. I immediatly borrowed it and fell in love with Celine. I began buying singles on cassette and doing a lot of research on her and her music. Then in 1996 I began buying all her CDs, looking through the pop section in music stores and searching for everything I could get my hands on. I haven't looked back since. I own almost every album that she has recorded, including the French ones, and am looking foward to to future releases. 2 Quote http://thelavalizard.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/celine-dion-quebec-thelavalizard.pngYou Loved Me Back To Life, Life!

celine4evauk Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:14 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:14 PM Think Twice. I'd heard of her because of eurovision - beating us by one point - did NOT like her then!! Heard BATB and TPOL (had Jennifer Rush single), but it was TT that got me hooked. Left school one lunchtime to go into town and bought TCOML album. Went back to school and heard people saying how sad it is when someone buys an album when you only know one song - you'll probably think the album is rubbish. I was worried!! Shouldn't have been though. Listened to the whole album when i got home, and loved it. It was the first album i'd bought where i liked every song. Obviously now i only listen to certain songs, but that's not bad after 18 years!!! 1 Quote
Schwa83 Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:23 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:23 PM I was twelve, and it was "It's All Coming Back to Me Now". At first, I didn't like it because my sister loved it so much. She got tired of it after listening to it so much, and for some reason I fell in love with it. I was hooked ever since. Quote

couldawouldashoulda Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:36 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:36 PM I saw the "video" for Where Does My Heart Beat Now in 1991 and found my Patron Saint of Divas. Ironically, it was shown at a local movie theater before the movie The Prince of Tides, directed by and starring La Streisand. Quote
Timster Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:42 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 06:42 PM The song that got me hooked on Celine was You and I, which I first heard on one of the Air Canada commercials, it must have been early 2006 (the 2004 Air Canada campaign was still showing in the UK then). I immediately fell in love with the song, but I had no idea who it was by. Funnily enough, a few weeks before that I had downloaded MHWGO on iTunes as I vaguely remembered the song from when I was younger and knew it was from the Titanic film but I wanted to hear it again. I had made no other attempt to look into more of Celine's work at this point, it was just a song to me. But then the day came when I finally found out that You and I was by the same singer as MHWGO - everything just clicked into place. I then immediately started listening to more and more of her songs, and over the last 6 years I have become a huge fan of Celine's. You and I remains one of my favourite songs. Quote

Yentl Anchel Posted June 28, 2012 at 07:51 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 07:51 PM I heard and saw Céline for the fisrt time on TV during the Eurovision song contest in '88, but being a girl of only 7 I showed no intrest in music that much yet. Later in 1991 I heard Des Mots qui Sonnent on the radio during a vacation in France and I was hooked... it however took me several years(1993) to find and be able to buy a Céline album here in Holland... the rest is I think history.... celinecolombian Posted June 28, 2012 at 08:41 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 08:41 PM The Power Of Love was the first time I ever heard Celine but I never linked the voice to the person, I didn't even know who she was, I just loved that song and recorded it onto a cassette. Then couple of years later I heard Because You Loved Me and didn't even know that was the same singer from TPOL. Another couple of years later, My heart Will Go On hit me and that's when I found out SHE was the singer from the other 2 songs I loved haha! So my first item was the Titanic Soundtrack but then I got Falling Into You which was my first Celine album and the rest is history Quote

lllBeautifulll Posted June 28, 2012 at 09:08 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 09:08 PM I'm from Quebec and know Celine way before her english career. At first, I did'nt like her much. I loved her voice but hate her songs! At the beginning she sounds too much nasal and her songs/style was not my cup of tea. But one day, after a two years hiatus, she return with the album Incognito... Even if this album is'nt her first, for me it was. This album hooked me. Very well produced, good songs (more mature), good musics, but...it was her voice who hooked me the most. The songs "Délivre-moi" and "Partout je te vois" was for me the beginning. Since that day, I'm a huuuuuge Celine's fan. I don't really appreciate too much ballads/cheesy songs, but her voice is still what I love the most of her. Every time I heard "Holy Night", and "I knew I loved you", I cry. Not because it's sad, because sometimes her voice reach near perfection. Quote

Concrete Angel Posted June 28, 2012 at 09:24 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 09:24 PM 'It's All Coming Back To Me' is actually the first song that I remember hearing, from any artist. My Mum used to play Celine's music all the time, and so when that song came out it was played constantly in my house and used to be on the music channels quite often. Quote

But I respected it and loved it at the same time x I adored the album, her voice, and that was it..... angelil78 Posted June 28, 2012 at 11:11 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 11:11 PM I first heard her in Eurovision 1988 but I began loving her voice when I heard Pour Que Tu M'Aimes Encore and The Power Of Love. I fell in love with the person Céline Dion when I saw a picture of her playing golf in the Hello Magazine in 1998 I think. Quote

PriscillaBarragan Posted June 28, 2012 at 11:31 PM Posted June 28, 2012 at 11:31 PM Well it was short versions of some of her hits (Because You Loved Me, MHWGO, The Power Of Love etc.) from when she was on the Oprah Show in 2007. But if we're talking an entire song then it was Taking Chances Quote
caitlynceline56 Posted June 29, 2012 at 12:12 AM Posted June 29, 2012 at 12:12 AM This is going to be a strange answer, but...Eyes On Me. When I watched TTEOTW for the first time last year, that was one of the songs that really stuck out for me. I liked it because it was so different than my preconceived notion of a "typical Céline Dion song." (Like many non-fans, I used to think that she sang nothing but ballads... ) I remember thinking "I HAVE to know the name of that song. Have to!" It was also the first Céline track I put on my iPod. However, A New Day Has Come and My Heart Will Go On really cemented my love for her. Quote "The measure of love is to love without measure."
