I remember I bought the CD the day of its release. I saw Celine live for the first time ever on stage a couple of weeks before for the FIY Tour.

So good memories !

Do you mean ALO, for A L'Olympia?

Cause i think her live voice is at best on that CD. LAP comes second for me

You're really on my case tonight aren't you :P :laugh: But yeah I meant À L'Olympia. I agree her voice is more crystal clear on that album, but I love the songs and the energy of LAP more.

Olympia will always be my number one...I like Plamondon much more than Goldman...but Live à Paris is still stellar and the album art was gorgeous for the era...and still is.

Plamondon is a great writer, joyful, loving and before his time, but no false sentimentality to make people cry...very pragmatic, he says it like it is. The only song i didn't like was on her last abum, le gars sans ses deux bras. :o

But yeah i agree with you, :drinks: the voice is just so pure on ALO, but as a whole concert LAP is probably my favorite of the 2...

I love Liva a Paris. It is Celine I grew up with...the image, voice, hair...love that concert. Such an iconic performance!

Live A Paris was actually my first contact with Céline in French, back in '02 when grandma got me the CD for Christmas. Earlier that year, J'attendais had been picked as soundtrack for a highly anticipated yet disappointing Brazilian sopa opera and it was when I discovered she also sings in French (I became a fan in '01 at the age of 13). However, being a Brazilian fan, it is highly difficult to have access to her French releases (Une Seule Fois had a very small release and it was the first since 1 Fille) and I used to dream about this DVD. It made me sad, though, that show is not complete. I know releases weren't generally complete until mid 2000s, but it makes me sad to be able to listen to RDMH on the CD and not see it on the screen. Although, just by listening to it, it's quite clear it was not a very welcomed song by the audience.

 

By now, Celine probably has more discarded projects than released ones.

Apparently Live à Paris will be released on vinyl for it's 30th anniversary!! :clap:

Do they even release Blu Rays/DVDs nowadays? This guy has a LAP Blu Ray, but sadly it's fake.

Movies are still being released on Blu-ray, and people buy them,because they have the best image and sound quality. 

The fact that they didn't released one single show of prime Celine in the 90s on Blu-ray is a crime against humanity! 

Even the Bee Gees had a fxxking Blu-ray release from the 90s....

I don’t get the point of these releases. They don’t even adapt the booklet to the larget format. That’s a shame. I guess everyone would dream about unseen or unreleased audio or vidéo from this période, instead of a golden vinyl ( without value on vinyl market )

Well it’s not been on before in this format - don’t knock it. At least they are releasing something!

Personally, I’m really excited about this vinyl release.

I really don’t agree with you. This is Céline’s first live album to be released on vinyl. And for once, the vinyl color actually matches the cover artwork, her team is making an effort. It hasn’t even been officially announced yet, and we don’t know what’s going to be included, so I think we should wait and see.

If people complain every single time, we’ll never get more releases. Every Céline album deserves a vinyl edition, so I hope her team keeps going in this direction.

As for a Blu-ray, of course that would be great. But from their perspective, it’s simply too much of a niche market. Since the DVD already exists, they probably don’t see any reason to release it in that format.

Yeah it's very special to finally have a live album on vinyl! I'm happy it's this one, even though I hope AO will follow too. Like I said, it would be awesome if they added the full concert on the vinyl! Especially being about to blast Le Blues Du Business Man of LAP from vinyl would be heaven!! :wub2:

This album was my first self-bought album of hers back then. My first was FYI, I "borrowed" it from my mom... and never gave it back. This was on sale lol and had to buy it. Then I got the VHS for my bday I think. I watched the VHS religiously almost every Wednesday afternoon. I deffo would love to have this vinyl. It looks amazing. 

I read this topic. To me she sounded the best ever, compared to any concerts released. Maybe she was technically better in other concerts as mentioned. But her tone in her voice just pleased me the most here. Opening with JA is just goosebumps galore. 

Also me not understanding a word: 🤯

If I have to choose one show from the 90s,I would choose ACDS,to me,it's the most stunning show she's ever done visually ! She was out of this world at those two nights...

The LBDBM performance of LAP is insane... Even if it's Just for this one song,this vinyl is worth it...

And I hope they include RDMH,that's the best live version of that song!
