New English Album - "Water and a Flame" (Pre-Release Thread Part 1)

They don't want to miss the boost of the Christmas sales, hence the English album being released in November. I'm happy with these news.

 

I understand that Celine wants to stay in Vegas. It gives her stability to raise her children and also gives her the chance to still continue performing live. It's the best she can do.

 

I'm happy that she is still making records for all the fans that can't go and see her live.

Well this is been quite a perfect morning for me!! All these news regarding the new albums release dates means that the English one being released in November, the month of my birthday!

Céline will be in Paris the first week of October to promote the French one, I'll try to be there but I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it, however, still wonderful to find out that she will be visiting us here in Europe, I also hope that she comes to Spain to promote the English album.

About the extension of the contract with Caesar's Palace, I think it was very clear that it was going to happen after seeing how successful the first shows have been. Great news for me as it gives me more chances to go and finally see her performing live!

And the worst thing... VEGAS! and ok we knew they would let's say add another 2 years... but 'SEVERAL' years ... this worries me a lot... That's not a good sign that Rene didn't indicate the length of the extension... and what about the tour they talked about which was supposed to kick off after Vegas (after 2013)? :(:(:(

 

I don't want two albums at one time... they should really concentrate on one thing

A French site said that they changed the strategy and launch the album that go English in the spring of 2013, and also said that the French first single from the album will come out in early July 2012

I think it was just a bad translation. Google Translate isn't very reliable. It's supposed to translate as "her voice is in good shape".

There's only one thing I just don't get, are they through with the idea of Vegas-themed album or not? Seriously, not a clue what to expect. Any ideas?

Besides, the only song from the Vegas show I wanted Celine to sing on the upcoming album was NMQP and hopefully we'll get it soon on the French cd.

I also like Skies of L.A. a lot, its so peaceful and a good closing to the album after so many edgy songs.

 

To me its not at all the worst song she has recorded in english, there are other much worse examples in this same album to me, like New Dawn or A Song For You: these are BORING and DULL songs !

OMG I sooo agree with you about SFY. I don't care for that song at all. Although it kind of is growing on me.

I too liked Skies of L.A. I like the softness the song has which it reminds me of those Michael Jackson back in the day ballads. Soo good.

 

IMO no english song is worse than "LET YOUR HEART DECIDE" I LOVE "Skies..." it's a beautiful, poignant song with very perspective lyrics on what the world really has become.

Think this sounds better than i had feared. I'd rather Celine release the french album and do promo this year, and take her time in deciding songs for english. Then release it next spring and do promo for that too. I feared one of the albums would be slightly ignored. This sounds better to me. French album and promo to look forward to, and then something early next year to look forward to also. I'm happy!!!!!!

Agreed atleast there would one album that would tied us over but then again I read this in the earlier pages.

YES no more COVERS!!!!!! If not than she should start co-writing her own songs. I was glad when I read this but now I am hearing they releasing an album this year? Dang make up your mind. Whatever would like to hear it regardless.

 

I guess it's all a matter of time now Claudette... if it's all really coming this Fall, then we'll learn more about the albums and promotion soon.

That seems logical for her to do that because they are soo young however for another several?? Why? I mean she should do promotional stuff, take breaks, and tour.

Celine Dion, the lucky Las Vegas chanteuse, has come to renegotiate her contract with Caesars Palace "for several years," Rene Angelil says happily. Her show started March 15, 2011, originally planned as a period of three years at a rate of 70 shows per year. But we can't let go of such a treasure that easily.

 

"This show in Las Vegas is the perfect balance between family life and career for Celine. I am very happy, but I will say no more about this new agreement. We will be there for several years. We have renewed long-term," said Rene Angelil, speaking to the Journal.

 

Celine Dion has performed to packed out houses in Las Vegas since her first show, A New Day. This show brings together 31 musicians, according to Rene Angelil, her life accomplice throughout her career. "It's the greatest show of Celine's career. It has sold out every single night, filled a room of 4,300 seats."

 

The star returns June 9 to the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace after a forced rest in March, due to a virus that affected her vocal cords. She will perform until August 19. She will then return to Florida in time for Rene-Charles' new school year, on August 21.

 

Celine Dion must participate in the Today Show in anticipation of her return to Las Vegas.

 

Two albums this fall

 

But during this forced leave and after healing her voice, Celine has addressed her two major projects including albums due out this fall. Rene Angelil spoke enthusiastically of the work already done on these two albums.

 

"The French album released a month before the English one. Luc Plamondon and Jean-Pierre Ferland participated. No date is set. But it will be this fall. We first recorded the songs in French. We have three left that we will finalize this summer.

 

"And we also recorded seven songs in English. It's been a long time since Céline released an album. Her last album in French was six years ago, and her last album in English released fall 2007, before the tour, so it's been five years. "

 

According to Rene Angelil, Celine Dion has "never been in such good vocal shape."

 

"What I hear in the studiois fantastic. Celine's voice is like good wine," said Angelil proudly.

 

He recalled that the second phase with Las Vegas makes him even more happy that the bar was so high after the success of A New Day.

 

"The pressure was there because I did not want people to say they preferred the other show. That way, they can just say it's better or as good."

Great news. I can't wait to hear what she has to offer. After such a long absence from the media presence of an album launch this seems quite a good move from them. Sure, the french album will suffer, but one can hope that they'll surprise us this time. D'elles was mess - as were the single choices from TCh. Anyway, I hope she can snatch a good album chart position as well as some hits in Europe. She deserves all the success she can get.

I don't think they'll release a single until the whole album is done, so probably in a few months unless some stuff leaks.

 

I'm very excited for this new English album, I think it'll be great, creative, & different!!

 

Sounds like she'll be staying in Vegas for quite a while since Rene said "long term" unless they do a 5 year run with this show then mount a totally different one. I still prefer A New Day to this one but it's Celine, I still loved it & may go back this summer.
