ok, so here's my opinion:

 

I don't think it's the first time that a Celine Dion album date release is pushed off so many times. Maybe it happened in the 90's and we didn't know because there wasn't so much information in our hands.

 

And who said anything about a dance album?? Guys don't start this type of rumors because you'll get upset if the album she gives us isn't what you expected at all...

Exactly! Those twitts should be taken as a rumors, nothing official and even the producers are those ones, they could make any kind of production, not only dance. In 5 months we'll know it for certain, until then, my expectations remain low...

Awwww the 97-98 were the best. She kept dropping albums like bombs one after the other... 3 albums in 1 single year!!

These Are Special Times, November 98 BOOM: Biggest Christmas album of all time!

 

I say she should repeat! She's supposed to release 2 albums this years; i say "add one more and release These Are Special Times Part II"

MYGOSH! 'Confessions...' is one of my favorites album ever! If Céline record a album like COAD, it will be AMAZING!

 

The thing is that Madonna's voice is made for big pop music like COADF.... her voice is unique for that. When Celine tries singing a pop song its not that great (imo)....i mean "One Heart" song she tried pop then, but damn, it sounded cheezy. Her voice is too awesome, big and powerful to be mixed with music that will just bury her voice.... idk thats my two cents.

 

although i'd like to hear Celine cover madonna's song like, idk, "How High" or "Future Lovers"? just to see really what would be the difference.

Guys, this is what I meant many times... Look at Shakira (I've just seen her newest video=single)... She released her last album (I've just checked to be exact, I don't follow her so much) back in October 2010! and now it's May 2012 and she still releases another single from this album. I just hope that Celine's album's promotion doesn't end after 1 or 2 singles after 3 months because it's just sad and as I can see, artists still release many singles from their albums, promoting their albums quite long

What do you even mean right now? A big soaring voice with a big club anthem is an AMAZING mix. Just listen to the Tony Moran mix of "TO LOVE YOU MORE"..it's AMAZING and it even sounds like it was recorded that way in the first place. Celine apparently had recorded the original version of "HEAVEN'S WHAT I FEEL" which Gloria Estefan recorded for her disco album. Soaring vocals ala Celine with a great dance beat is great....think "SORRY FOR LOVE" or "JUST A LITTLE BIT OF LOVE"...amazing. I also have many times envisioned Celine singing "WHEN LOVE TAKES OVER" by Kelly Rowland and David Guetta...and there is also a song called "FORGIVE" by a dance singer named Reina that I wish Celine would have recorded. Not all dance music is cheesy and recorded by artists without a big voice. There is plenty of dance music out there with amazing voices.

you know why One Heart failed in my opinion , the song I mean, because of the cheesy arrangement! It sounds like a childish melody. No matter how good your voice is, you can't make something great which is not great at all to start with ;-)

Of course we think Celine can sing Opera, and she can get far as we could hear on La Diva and Ave Maria , but in Opera standards Celine isn't there at all. For us it sounds amazing, but judged by someone in that field, I think they have a way different opinion. Doesn't mean she is a bad singer, but it is not her expertise.

According to Kent Nagano, musical conductor and opera expertise, when he and Céline met in 2007 this man said she could actually sing opera, and if I remember well they were in talks to train Céline's voice and teach her how to sing opera (I don't know what this project lead to in the end).

I don't think Madonna or Britney Spears could nail a big powerful up-tempo pop song like this :

Celine's voice is perfect for up-tempo pop song.

Agreed. Some people are incredibly delusional.

 

And a lot of the clips people tend to post to prove Celine can sing opera are actually quite embarrassing if you show it to anyone who has any actual classical training.

 

Edit: no one knows how it would've been had Celine trained to be a classical singer from the start. She might very well be a virtuoso today. But the fact is, she DIDN'T. She's a pop singer with a bit of classical training (that she doesn't even use consistently). That's all. Futilely claiming that she could have been is pointless because she actually didn't. And if you know nothing about opera or classical music, don't make assumptions about it only being about training and not about talent. Dear lord. Opera is the hardest vocal genre, PERIOD. Top rate opera singers should be able to project across a theater, over an orchestra without any artificial projection. Most people don't have a big enough voice for that, no matter how hard they train.

I think you are confusing,There is a big difference between Opera and Pop music.

an opera singer[female] sings all of the songs with her head voice,and a pop singer sings all of the songs with her chest voice.Long live the difference!

 

the reason that celine can't sing opera it's because the fact that she has not a head voice Qualities of an opera singer.
