René Angélil sera en entrevue à l'émission Salut, bonjour!, sur les ondes de TVA, lundi et mardi prochains, pour parler de leurs projets, à Céline Dion et à lui.

 

Récemment de passage au Québec pour annoncer son association à la nouvelle chaire de recherche en oncologie ORL du Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM), le célèbre imprésario en a profité pour accueillir l'animateur de Salut, bonjour!, Gino Chouinard, au Club de Golf Le Mirage, et lui accorder un entretien exclusif.

 

Dans un premier temps, un extrait de la rencontre sera diffusé le lundi 5 septembre, à 7h40. René fera alors le point sur les actuels projets de Céline.

 

Un autre segment sera présenté le lendemain, toujours à 7h40, où l'homme d'affaires tracera un bilan des premiers mois du nouveau spectacle présenté à Las Vegas. C'est le même jour, soit le mardi 6 septembre, qu'on pourra voir l'intégrale du reportage, à 8h50.

 

René Angélil nous en apprendra alors plus sur le documentaire Celine: 3 boys and a new show, créé par les Productions J et qui sera à l'antenne de la chaîne OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) le 2 octobre. How much scoop can he give us; if Celine herself said that she didn't move an inch since she went back to her house after her August shows; he'll probably repeat what Celine already said: 2 new albums that she'll record between August and December.

Do I bother commenting on this or not? Well, I probably shouldn't (and I'm sure you, RomualdlovesCeline, agree with that ), but I can't resist:

 

1. Rene may have managed Celine's career for 30 years, but during these years, Celine was doing the work that built her reputation - so I guess the score after this 'round' is 1:1 (assuming that both kinds of work are equally demanding, which I'm not sure about).

 

2. Rene's role in this Mafia film is a secondary role and according to what I read, he appears in just a few scenes. I hence guess that it took him not more than a few days to get this done.

 

3. He will be in Star Academie, but his involvement there is certainly much less work than Celine's show and her recordings in the next months.

 

So, all together, your argument is simply ridiculous and doesn't hold up.

 

Just one last comment: I can understand that you are frustrated and want to have more albums etc. from Celine, but expressing this feeling by implying that she is a lazy cow whose husband works much more than her is just not credible. It is simply a massive exaggeration that is not helpful for keeping a balanced view on Celine and her work.

Sure, all these management responsibilities are time-consuming and demanding, but standing on stage and performing for 90 minutes or 2 hours, plus soundcheck and meet + greet, interviews etc is very demanding as well. Add to this recording sessions and TV appearances and you have a substantial amount of stress. It ain't no 12 hours in the factory and she gets a shitload of money, but I am convinced that it is very exhausting.

 

And the fact that somebody is whispering the lyrics in her ears (I am not really sure how credible this story is by the way) doesn't really change that, does it?

True, the DVD did say that, but that story really doesn't make sense because even if he was there, she would have already said the wrong lyrics, so what is he supposed to fix? Also, with the amount of times she's messed up the lyrics on uptempo, English songs, I highly doubt he is there to help her get back on track. And it's OK, I'm not mad at her for messing up lyrics here and there, but it doesn't seem reasonable that he stands there night after night reading the same booklet over and over.

 

PS - also in the AND behind the scenes, you can see Patrick collecting hangers, or costumes for the dancers when Celine is singing TPOL, and he is not in his "place" reading the lyrics at that point. So, I'm not sure what to believe.

Okay, but still, do you really think that he sits behind/under (during the TCWT) reading the same paper EVERY night? And so say she messes up some words, there's nothing he can even do about it but tell her she screwed up AFTER she's already messed up. Whats the point of that?? Plus, I think it would be VERY distracting to be singing, know that you sung some lyrics wrong, and while trying to stay on track have someone talking in your ear. Trying to listen to Patrick and remembering the next lyrics would be a complete nightmare at least in my mind.

He doesn't only save her when she forgets the lyrics; he reads all the lyrics for her from the beginning of the song till the end ; Now, that's what we have seen on the AND bonus feature; I'm not sure if he did the same thing everywhere she went on her TCWT. I only stated what was given to us on the DVD

Actually, it does make sense for me; Celine is a pro; she has been singing for 30 yrs now, she could sing even if someone is talking to her in her earplugs. BTW, it's not distracting to hear someone singing the same song you are singing in the mic.

I personally think u should not work with family, but Patrick is amazing at what he does... but on the other hand I don't honestly see the point of Michel working with Celine. René confirmed that Celine is working on both the English and the French album.

 

He confirmed, as we previously announced, that the English album will contain the songs from the show + 3 brand new songs.

 

Plamondon is still working on his songs for the French album.

Me too! I'm ok with OA and HDYKTMP, but the others songs are just too random for me. I wonder if it will be live with the 3 new songs like AND. I think if they insist on doing the songs from the show, I would take studio versions instead, since we will eventually get a DVD. I was soooooo hoping for a great album like ANDHC though. I've got the same feeling, something 100% new would have been better.

 

But on the other side, it kind of makes sense to do it this way, assuming that people who attended the show might buy the CD, assuring steady sales at a low, but overall perhaps decent level.

 

And we get these songs before the end of the show when they might release a live DVD.

 

I just hope that they keep the album coherent and don't try to add three crappy and cheap dance tracks or something like that

 

Finally, I was always more excited about the French album and the more Plamondon is involved the better this could become - provided of course that Luc is really working on these songs and isn't just postponing because he is sitting on the beach
