I really don't see the point of me getting it. I can't stand surfing the internet on these phones.

My brother has the Nintendo Wii, and you can surf the net on it. And having to use the game controllers to hit the simulated keyboard, one letter at a time is a pain in the you know where!

 

And all of those CONS that are associated with the iPhone are quite turn-offs.

Not being able to view flash files? Having to return your phone to Apple for battery assessment after two years? No USB? AT&T Only? No ability to insert media cards?

 

I mean, we can insert audio/mp4 videos through iTunes, and photographs through iPhoto, but it's a bit inconvenient.

 

 

I'm happy with my Apple MacBook and my D&G gold cellphone (a timeless classic, indeed )

And putting on my amazing Sennheiser professional headphones make Celine sound like an angel!

One can get another mp3 player that has all this, looks better and it's half the price. I guess it's the same with this IPhone. You can get one just as good for less money.

I have to defend the iPod. It's a device for music playback mainly, nothing more and if you buy one it's for the music, not for anything else and it's doing its job marvellously while looking really great. I would never exchange my iPod nano for anything except perhaps for the Sony NX30, but it'd be too huge.

Well, that's how much I had to pay for D'elles collection edition. 45 euros on CDGO plus the shipping. CDGO is the only site I can order from because I don't have a credit card and CDGO accepts other kinds of payment like paying in the post office when I pick up the package. 50 euros is too much for me. Keep in mind, my college tution is 100 euros a month. I can't spend half of it on a CD, no matter how much I love Celine.

So did anyone purchase an iphone? I was reading reviews about the iphone and came to the conclusion that there is no perfect phone! Even my phone has many drawbacks...and the iphone has many more features that my current cellphone does not have. So I figure, that if I can come up with the money to buy the iphone, then I probably will. After all, I use my current phone for music, txt messeaging, picture taking, and video viewing, as well as making phone calls....the wifi internet browsing on the iphone and some ohter extras would only be a plus! Also, speaking of the Wii, we have one. This iPhone and all of it's novelty reminds me of the Wii. They're great in theory, just not worth all the hype. We waited in line for the Wii when it first came out, but it hasn't lived up to our hopes... we always go back to our Xbox 360 (Microsoft, of course ). I feel the iPhone will be the same way...

Apple may have sold as many as 500,000 iPhones over the launch weekend, according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. Munster had projected sales of 200,000, an estimate that was beaten according to J.P. Morgan analyst Bill Shope, who estimated sales of 312,000 units. While Apple has yet to release any exact sales figures for the new device, the launch is already being viewed as a success by industry pundits. “This is a very successfully handled launch,” Munster said in an interview with Bloomberg. “The real sign of success would be what kind of legs this product has in 2008 and 2009. In 2009, we estimate a third of Apple’s sales will be from iPhone. This is a huge product.”

 

Spokespeople for AT&T have declined to confirm numbers, but have been enthusiastic about the launch. Mark Siegel, AT&T spokesperson, claimed “things have just gone extraordinarily well.” The cellular provider said that most of its 1,800 stores sold out of iPhone stock in 24 hours. Checks on iPhone availability from Apple’s retail web site show that more than a third of Apple stores around the country are listed as “Sold Out” of the device. In addition, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is also bullish on the device, claiming “I was going to only use the iPhone as a test phone at first, but I’m ready now to make it my primary number.” Wozniak, who got in line at 4 a.m. on June 29 to buy the phone, continued, “I was still a bit negative after a couple of test calls, but then I tried the browser and was shocked at how wonderful it was to have real Web pages.”

Apple Sells 525,000 iPhones in Three Days

 

Apple and AT&T score big with iPhone launch

 

Everyone knew that the iPhone was going to be big from the moment it was announced in early January. Apple CEO Steve Jobs hailed the device as the ultimate in mobile communications given that it could function as a phone, a mobile Internet device and as an iPod.

 

As the months progressed, the hype mushroomed even though the iPhone lacked a user-replaceable battery, physical keyboard, expansion slot, voice dialing, A2DP, MMS, iChat, flash support, copy and paste ability and video recording -- not to mention that the iPhone was tied solely to AT&T.

 

It appears that all of the minuses stacked against the iPhone weren't enough to phase buyers who lined up days in advance to purchase the latest "it device" from Cupertino. Not even the $499 (4GB) and $599 (8GB) price tags were enough to keep Apple from selling around 525,000 iPhones from 6:00 PM Friday evening through close of business on Sunday.

 

Nearly all of AT&T's stores were depleted of iPhone stock by Saturday whereas Apple's retail stores are currently faring much better (you can check iPhone availability here).

 

Apple's iPhone launch didn't go off glitch free, however. Many users complained of activation problems with iPhone. The iPhone can be activated through iTunes and the steady rush of users scrambling to activate their phones overloaded AT&T's servers.

 

"We are working on any issues on an individual basis with customers who were impacted," said Michael Coe, a representative for AT&T.

 

AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel noted that a "small percentage" of customers were having activation issues. "Our first priority is to get them up and rolling as quickly as we can," Spiegel continued.

 

For its part in the matter, an Apple spokesman simply said "There are a small percentage of iPhone customers who have had a less than perfect activation experience."

I don't think that it is 100% crazy. Would you call crazy millions of people (specially the US) who spoil their pets with mani and pedi, and designer outfits and spa appointments and whatever else thy do to make their pets happy and themselves happy? Speaking of iPhone, maybe it is not the perfect phone but it is the coolest on the market so far. I haven't bought one for myself yet as i have changed my mind and decided to get a blackbery curve instead.

What battery issue ? they told me is good for 3000 charges or about 8 years, also i play with the phone all day and i hardly use half of its battery charge and whats wrong with at&t? been with them for years and never had a single problem, they offer lower rates for international calling then any other company, and i dont get any drop calls.

I am with Cingular/AT&T and they drop my calls all the time for the past 6 months. and i can't even dial a number occasionally without seeing a message call failed 10 times in a row. i am thinking of dumping them.

Apple today announced major updates to the iPod family at its “The Beat Goes On” special event in San Francisco. The iPod shuffle saw a refresh with new colors and packaging, an all-new iPod nano was introduced, as well as the iPod classic (which replaces the original “iPod” in the company’s lineup), and the all-new iPod touch.

 

imageiPod shuffle: The new iPod shuffle is available in several new colors, including a (PRODUCT) RED model, light green, light blue, and light purple. The smallest iPod also received updated, smaller packaging, while storage capacity remains at 1GB for the same price of $79. It will be available soon.

 

imageiPod nano: The all-new iPod nano is the same product shown in earlier spy shots, with a 2-inch, 204 pixel per inch, 320x240 resolution screen for video and photo viewing. The all-new design is made from anodized aluminum and polished stainless steel, and is available in five colors: silver, black, blue, green, and a (PRODUCT) RED special edition. It offers 24 hours of audio playback or five hours of video playback on a single charge, and includes three bundled games: Vortex, iQuiz, and Klondike.
