I do hope she'll also have her own home in the Philippines, particulary in Tacloban City so i won't have ahard time seeing her in person. :)

Canadian songbird Celine Dion is starting to build her Jupiter Island nest.

 

With her five-year gig in Sin City up in December, the pop superstar may be able to clear her legendary pipes on her Titanic song from the widow's walk on the custom-made $3.2 million beachsider by fall 2008.

 

"They have all the permits they needed," said Jeff Newell, building boss of the tony Martin County town. "They leveled the old home last week, and I expect they'll start rebuilding within the next few days."

 

What will start appearing soon on the 3.7-acre dune property on South Beach Road is a 9,800-square-foot, six-bedroom mansion shaped like a cross. Forty windows on the first floor will face the ocean. The style is more akin to the coastline of the Carolinas, with a mix of Key West, Colonial, New Orleans and Victorian styles, all with a dash of gingerbread dressing and decorative cupolas.

 

WPB architect Roger Janssen didn't grant permission to publish an artist's rendering of the home. But according to his blueprints, there'll be a feature rare in SoFla: a large underground basement with space for four cars, a wine cellar, a staff office and enough closet space to store every single stage outfit Dion has worn.

 

"I wouldn't advise them to stay there during a hurricane," Newell said.

 

Other features: a $1.1 million guest house with four suites; a $600,000 cabana on the beach; two Olympic-size pools; a master bedroom terrace with a spa; and three "motorcourts" with a total 14 parking spots.

 

The couple bought the property two years ago for $12.5 million under the name of Dion's and hubby Rene Angelil's Montreal-based company, Renlec. When they became fixtures in the area through the late 1990s while living at Admirals Cove in Jupiter, the couple made no secret about wanting to raise and school their child in the area. But they sold that home a year into her Caesars Palace contract.

 

Dion, 39, whose tune You and I was picked this week as theme song of presidential wannabe Hillary Clinton's campaign, becomes the second among Forbes magazine's 100 top-earning celebs on the island. The other, golfer Tiger Woods, will soon live 2 miles south with wife Elin and new baby daughter Sam Alexis. Dion clocked in at No. 20, with $45 million last year.

 

A spokeswoman said Tuesday the singer wasn't available to comment on the construction.

 

Jupiter is in North Palm Beach County, in Fl although I think Jupiter Island is actually in Martin County. But whatever... the house is gonna be huge and one of the most impressive in the area. And there are some IMPRESSIVE houses in the Palm Beaches... just ask Donald Trump. I've missed stalking Celine in Jupiter. It'll be fun to start again. (I'm kidding... never stalked her... just drove by the community she lived in and was gonna go pick tomatoes at her local supermarket but never got round to it)

Oi... I remember when she built her house in Las Vegas Lake she said it would be a smaller house, more of a normal size to raise Rene-Charles in so he wouldn't feel like he lives in a palace. I guess that changed. 3.7 acre is an out-of-this-world huge lot.

 

I wouldn't want to clean the windows in her house :laughing:

WOW! Her new home sounds VERY impressive! I guest the $12.5 million that they had spent on the property was mainly for the land, because I know that the land on Jupiter Island is one of the most expensive in the United States. Anyway, I'm excited to see how this whole construction and architectural wonder comes into fruition. Maybe we might see this home in ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST someday (of whom I'm a proud subscriber)! :D :D :D :D

 

Her "small" house in Lake Las Vegas right now was over a million dollars too, so there must be something unique there.

Plus, they say that she also bought another house in Vegas that is closer to the strip, and costs between $3 - $5 million.

 

Houses are the way to go. They normally don't go down in value.

When she and Rene sold their previous Jupiter Island mansion, they made a few million dollars in profits as well.:stud:

I stayed in Jupiter for a week once...although I wasn't such a crazy fan back then to know where she lived...if I was there when she lived there now however....I'd be in one of those 14 car parking spaces getting changed into my speedos

Ya, I'm sorry I didn't read it carefully. Still, I'm waiting for a more official confirmation. Why not roll my eyes, it must be a nice hobby to collect houses. She's got 2 in Canada, one in Florida, at least one in Vegas.... I think this beats the hell out of shopping for shoes :giggle: Not to mention she has the extremly nice habbit of buying houses for her family, her employees and so on... She said it once in an interview, that she bought a house for her maid, that was working for them for many years. How nice is that. So even if she's not living in those houses, she bought them, we can add them to the collection. And I haven't even started on the shoes yet....

But i think she said she will keep her house in Vegas because it's the 1st house of Rene-Charles and she will comeback sometimes for vacations..

For sure, she don't have 2 house in Quebec, i know i live here.. She only have the one in Laval.. There's another home in Laval for her mother and i think she sold the old one in Rosemère or give it to someone in his family, but she don't live there for sure.

$600,000 for a cabana is heavily expensive.

 

I can have a cabana built for $10,000 and it looks impressive. but SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS?

 

This sounds amazing! Maybe it would be an architectural wonder, with marble columns, a roof made of gold! LOL :giggle:

I remember when it was reported that Rene and Celine had bought the house/land in Jupiter and someone had photos of the house. I was a little surprised because compared to their old Florida house it looked smaller and kind of plain, for them (although I'm sure it was a very nice house). Now it makes more sense to me because they demolished the old one and are creating a new one. It sounds great.

 

I am surprised that they have another LV house, especially since they are leaving. I guess it will be another nice vacation home. I believe that they also have a home in Belgium, from what I've read. :bye1:
