Angel2006 Posted March 13, 2011 at 08:59 AM Posted March 13, 2011 at 08:59 AM They should bring back Declaration Of Love, Diamonds Are Forever and I Just Can't Stop Loving You and take away Ben, At Seventeen, and the Ella Fitzgerald song. Sorry i can't remember what that song is called. Quote

celinefan1991 Posted March 13, 2011 at 09:37 AM Posted March 13, 2011 at 09:37 AM I am sorry but I am HEARTBROKEN!!! I have been waiting for this since the MOMENT I heard she was doing a Michael Tribute! I have ALWAYS pictured them singing this song together and I thought it was finally going to happen! I can't belive this! Of all the covers to cut they cut THAT ONE!!!??? I thought for sure they would have a MICHAEL hologram not Stevie Wonder!? They already did a Stevie Wonder thing during AND and excuse me he is still alive!!! You could call him and ask him to come to the Collosseum, good luck calling MICHAEL!!!! I am literally crying!!!!! I agree too, Ben needs to go!!!! Human Nature would have been much better in it's place. Or letting her actually do an up-tempo song like The way you make me feel would have been ideal. Most of the show is just the same kind of note. All the songs have the same vibe. I am sorry to be complaing and I usually would NEVER, EVER do this because I love Celine with all my heart, and that's why I don't have many posts, because I usually have no complaints, but this is just ridiculous. I am PRAYING TO GOD they have it back in on tuesday.... So excuse me while I go shoot myself!!! Hope you can pick up the subtly from my smiles... Quote
celine81 Posted March 13, 2011 at 09:40 AM Posted March 13, 2011 at 09:40 AM OMFG!!!!! Just when you think they couldn't do anything else.... Then there's holograms!! Simply amazing!! :-). On the adding/removal of songs during dress rehearsals is very normalanyone else find it interesting how this show is reported by social networking media such astwitter etc.?? The result is we are living the organic process of the preparations to a show..... It makes youwonder how we all would have reacted had we had accessto the rehearsals of her world tours i.e. Did she rehearse say Us for LTAL tour, ormaybe I Love You for FIY tour. It's amazing to think aboutWhat we don't know! Perhaps what we don't know sometimes is better for us! I, however,as much as I may be disappointed with certain changes have torespect the decisions which we normally wouldn't even be aware of! it's just a real shame I've got to wait until next year before I can go!! Timster Posted March 13, 2011 at 10:09 AM Posted March 13, 2011 at 10:09 AM Celine's team really are cutting the WRONG songs! Diamonds Are Forever is a very classy song (just like Goldfinger), perfect for Celine's powerful voice. I can't believe they cut this and not Live And Let Die or Nobody Does It Better. As for the Michael Jackson medley, I think Ben would have been a better sing to cut. And I'm so annoyed with DOL. The original medley was fantastic - and live! Now they're just having the band do the song while she changes??? It's pathetic! We want to hear this song - it was the biggest surprise in the whole show, and now it's the biggest disappointment. Quote
mirage Posted March 13, 2011 at 10:59 AM Posted March 13, 2011 at 10:59 AM Diamonds are forever should be back in!!! Remove another song from that medley but no goldfiner and DAF Quote

Javito Posted March 13, 2011 at 01:41 PM Posted March 13, 2011 at 01:41 PM (edited) how did the forum members who went score tickets to this rehearsel? AFAIK Barney had some tickets to give away for these rehearsals. Other than that, the question is where is TEAMCELINE when this special things happen like these series of rehearsals. Now that its free they do even less than before even if there are FREE things to offer . Edited March 13, 2011 at 01:46 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now... I see a light in the sky"
MrTim212 Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:31 PM Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:31 PM (edited) You know, I really hope no one in Céline's camp shows her any of these threads. Sorry, but it definitely paints a really poor portrait of her fans: Controlling, never satisfied, negative, etc. It seems like everyone who HASN'T seen the show yet has the strongest negative opinion of the show, while those who HAVE seen it have great things to say... And also, I do NOT think it's a good idea to flood Barnev's Facebook with complaints about the show... It's only going to frustrate and annoy him. enno2007 Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:40 PM Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:40 PM Just one comment regarding the song "Ben": The song was kept as it seems to be one of the favourites of Céline - she mentioned this in the short video on Canoe, the one with Dany Bouchard. Therefore, even if some of you would prefer the removal of other songs, I can fully understand why they kept this. And I prefer hearing her sing songs that are close to her heart than running through some better-known songs with which she hasn't any connection. Quote

enno2007 Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:51 PM Posted March 13, 2011 at 02:51 PM Just another thing, I unfortunately can't contain myself I think some of you just don't get the idea of that show: It is supposed to be the opposite of A New Day, and a modern-times continuation of classic music shows like the ones by Sinatra. If you read all those articles which are currently on Canoe, you would see what this show is about, how they wanted it to be classy, how Céline initially wanted it to be in "black and white mood", how much it is centred around music, the orchestra, the voice and so and so forth. Believe me, I wasn't too keen on the setlist myself when I first saw it here (although I felt some people overreacted massively), but with some more information, the whole point of this show from a creative point of view makes sense - and I think it's great. We could have had the Taking Chances show again, as it was initially planned (and hell would have broken loose here), they then wanted a show around Warner movies, and they ended up with "Celine" - I think it goes into the right direction... And finally: It is not a sign of contempt of fans that they don't simply play songs that hardcore fans are expecting. This show has to be viable from a commercial point of view and they need to attract 'regular' spectators. It was already mentioned a few times, but somehow this is forgotten too often. Quote

Javito Posted March 13, 2011 at 03:43 PM Posted March 13, 2011 at 03:43 PM (edited) Just one comment regarding the song "Ben": The song was kept as it seems to be one of the favourites of Céline - she mentioned this in the short video on Canoe, the one with Dany Bouchard. Therefore, even if some of you would prefer the removal of other songs, I can fully understand why they kept this. And I prefer hearing her sing songs that are close to her heart than running through some better-known songs with which she hasn't any connection. If the songs that were recorded during 20 years in her english albums have any connection with her, why did she pick them? Is all her english discography an illusion now??? Please... that gets my nerves on. Not for your comment, but for Céline, the way she's talking about these covers she chose for the new show. Now its as if her own songs included in her dozens of CDs were rubbish compared to those covers "closer to her heart" right? And finally: It is not a sign of contempt of fans that they don't simply play songs that hardcore fans are expecting. This show has to be viable from a commercial point of view and they need to attract 'regular' spectators. It was already mentioned a few times, but somehow this is forgotten too often. Indeed. So let's put things straight. 1) Don't say this is a concert to please her fans, say that this is a concert made for the general public and don't try to sell it as if they were aware of fans reactions because they're not. They don't know what we are demanding here. The "fans" they are expecting in the colosseum are people who knows Céline for 1 or 2 major hits, and people from ages 50 and up. Not us here. They don't even know what we want because if they knew they wouldn't be talking like that. Both Céline & René still live in the conviction that we-the die hard fans are still crazy to listen her singing BYLM, LCMM or MHWGO, and this has proved to be miles away far from the truth (the forum has been inundated this week with replies of fans saying they can't stand anymore those songs). 2) So if this concert is targeted to the casual audience in Vegas, people who are there spending holidays or for another reason NOT especifically to Céline, don't say this is a concert to please her fans, because you're pulling our legs. After one week following the reactions of fans here about the setlist, one can clearly conclude that fans don't feel represented in this show. And I mean fans who have been following her career since decades and buying her cds. We're not represented in this show. Is that good or bad? Neither one or the other. We can love this show and I'm sure it will be great, but the Céline show/concert made for the fans is yet to come (hopefully). It's not this one. I love Céline with all my heart and its my #1 singer ever. But I still know she can do better things to please the majority of fans here, and I will patiently wait for that day in the meantime Edited March 13, 2011 at 03:55 PM by Javito Quote "Hush, now...
